1.
The search continues.....
Call yourself The Master Of The Universe? Pah!
2. I'm going to see them next Monday ... should I ask Roger if he has a spare one for you?
3. By a weird coincidence, I'm bored with all your gear too ...
4.
The Ventures: And some very nifty bass playing from Nokie Edwards.
Do you reckon that drummer is at the wrong gig?
5. I didn't pay as much as you might think ...
6.
And for thinking/playing outside the box on the verses - play in the major key a tone lower than the first minor chord. In other words - the first chord is A Minor, so you play around G Major. Everything will still be from the same key, you'll just have some nice (and hopefully) pleasant surprises.
And remember kids ... you're never more than a semi away from a "right" note.
7.
+1 on this chap (Kevin?) he's given the two new basses I've bought a great set up. You get two years unlimited set-ups on new basses, how's it work with vintage ones?
After the amount of work he had to do on this sale, and the very tight timescales he had to do it in, I'd feel really bad about going back in a year and claiming "my free set-up"!
8. Track down a Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn model. I promise you that you'll like it ...
9. Yup, this one is exactly 31" and I was trying to explain to Wunjo's that Hofners always used 30.5".
10. "... the intonation is out so that will need sorting unless, like me, you play it with a slide." Well that explains a lot about most slide playing ...
11. I was 13 when that album came out ... didn't get into the Stooges until Raw Power and never back-catalogued I'm afraid.
12. Jesus ... really? I'd never have recognised them from that pic!
13.
(HJ that was one hell of an implies purchase!)
Where's the satisfaction to be had from impulse-buying another pick?
14.
Nice - I have a '65 mosrite as well! Mine's identical but in sunburst. The blue is my absolute favourite colour though. Here's why: If I had seen it before you I have no doubt it would be in my hands now.
Now I could play it cool and wait for someone else to ask who those guys are ...
15. It's a shortscale (31") which clearly came as a surprise to the guys in Wunjo and also to their excellent guitar tech.
16. This is pretty good, too, especially when he gets to the thumb extensor (about 90 seconds in). https://youtu.be/uPO-zST-7EE
17. Watch this, especially from about 8:30 onwards. https://youtu.be/XqBRxu21oZc
18.
Congratulations, outstanding purchase Sir! I was only looking at this on the Wunjo site last night thinking what a great piece it is. Any change of some sound clips?
Sound clips? Nah! Come round and try it for yourself ...
19.
What's under the ashtray? Mutes?
Yup, the original foam as far as I can make out.
20. Thanks mate, and I do understand about the exchange rate! This is one of those basses that I've decided to sell if the right offer is made, but I'm in absolutely no hurry to get rid of it. Chances are that I'll still have it when you've got the money together.
21. Are you sure about the weight? I have a P5 and a PJ5 and they both weigh nearer 7.5lbs than 9.5lbs. Extreme lightness is one of the features of Mike Lull basses that I like the most. GLWTS
22. Sounds even better through a vintage WEM ...
23. Did I need it? No, not really. Do I like it? Oh yes ... lots. 1965, all original, plenty of genuine play wear, no relic'ing.
24. So there I was, walking down Denmark Street and minding my own business when I stopped to have a look in the window at Wunjo's. Mal paso, mate, mal paso. A little while later, money had changed hands and I was carrying
