I use clove oil followed by ibuprofen. Clove oil tastes nasty, but managing an irritation so it doesn't get worse is important.
You know when you describe yourself as "Basschat's Alan Partridge"? Well ...

Fuzz - The Sound that Revolutionised the World (Documentary)
Happy Jack replied to BigBassBob's topic in Effects
As luck would have it, I got to spend a little time with JMJ at the O2 before a NIN gig a few years back (courtesy of Steve Taylor / tayste_2000). I'm an accountant (well, sort-of) who turned up at a major rock gig dressed like a musician (whatever that means) and trying very hard not to be an accountant. JMJ is a massive rock star who turned up at a major rock gig dressed like an accountant (whatever that means) and trying very hard not to be a rock star. Go figure. But it was pretty entertaining. Nice guy, though, and a lovely wife. -
Machine Head a "forgotten gem"? I'm sorry Bilbo, but only a jazzer could come out with something like that! No one who had any interest in music during the 70s can possible have forgotten Machine Head.

How do we know that you and Beedster aren't simply swopping the same piece of kit backwards and forwards so as to build up your positive feedback, and thus lull the rest of Basschat into a false sense of indifference?

Oi you! Don't you go claiming SWOD for the bloody metallists ... back in them days, we called that stuff Heavy Rock. Anyway, SWOD can't be metal because it's one of my favourite albums and I bloody hate metal.
Why exactly are you doing this?
It's Conan's poll and he'll answer for himself, but I'm certainly interested to see how this pans out. Like many on Basschat I have been fascinated by the polarisation of opinion when it comes to Alex and his cabs. The impression I get (and that's all it is, my impression) is that there is a very small number of Barefaced haters who compensate for their small numbers by being extremely noisy, and that there is a much larger number of Barefaced lovers (and yes, of course that includes me) who don't understand their hate. This poll offers a first serious effort to take impressions and replace them with actual numbers. Got to start somewhere ...
All made to a certain spec, or a derivitation of as specified by themselves. The problems that have been reported by others in other threads, don't follow this... routing bodies, hand carving necks, hand winding pickups, custom circuits... much different kettle of fish.
Google Translate, from the original Latvian?
If this was any other product than Alex's, these cabs would be slated for all the problems that they have/have had - and everybody knows that.
Erm ... "everybody"? But that would include me wouldn't it? And I'm not actually a knee-jerk generator of wild exaggerations. So I wouldn't do that. Did you know that BMW 5-series have had some faults reported with dodgy sun-roofs? It's true - look it up. So let's all go onto the Internet and slag off the BMW 5-series for being totally crap, unreliable cars which can't possibly be worth a fraction of the ludicrous prices those bastards charge. Get some context mate. A small (?) number of BF owners reported a minor issue with the handles on their cabs. It's now been fixed. A small (?) number of BF owners reported that the rubber feet could come off their cabs - I was one of them. It took me nearly 60 seconds to screw it back on. End of civilisation, right? And now one (count them, that's "ONE") BF owner has managed to turn his cab into a snow machine. Yet the national newspapers continue to waste their front pages on irrelevant stuff like Nelson Mandela. What's wrong with these idiots? If you buy an essentially hand-made item from a boutique manufacturer, then this sort of odd production niggle is part & parcel of the experience. I've read enough of your posts over the years to know that you don't need me telling you about this.

Have to say that I'm genuinely impressed ... someone has actually managed to blow up a Compact. Don't think that's been achieved before.
I didn't think the Compacts had a tweeter?
Correct ... erm ... that was my point! You don't miss a tweeter unless you slap.
-
Not "dubby" unless you EQ them so . They just sound great, full range and very loud. The tweeter is allegedly of value to those who (foolishly) slap their basses. I have never been guilty of such violence so I can't say as I've missed it.
Old Ibanez FLs have very useful lines at each 'fret' at the top of the board (and one I owned, tiny reference lines under the G also). This is probably what I'm going to have done on my Wazz http://basschat.co.u...mongrel/unread/
Excellent - you've saved me having to make the same comment Chris. These "fret-end markers" are absolutely brilliant, all the advantages of a lined fretless but without the ugly lines.
