  1. That's why they invented the 5-string Precision.
  2. 18 May 2007 - joined latest incarnation of Basschat (having been a Member of various short-lived predecessors). Post Count = NIL. Zero. Not a sausage. Bugger all. 18 May 2022 - older, greyer, happier. Post Count = 13,897 So that's 2.54 posts per day every day for 5479 days. I've got it under control. I can walk away any time I like.
  3. Another chance to rejoice in my Lockdown facial hair ...
  4. Because one was good enough for Jaco. Oh hang on ... wait ...
  5. Thank you for your input. You've made a valuable contribution. Thank God there are people like you around to prevent people asking pointless and irrelevant questions. So ... what's your day job? 🙄
  6. Truth be told, I didn't even realise that the SM58 has a switch!
  7. Yup, not sure it's actually possible to 'switch off' a mic without creating a very nasty pop from the PA. What's the driver for this? Why do you want to be able to switch it off?
  8. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-61471227 You are not alone!
  9. Short scale? I think it's a 32", isn't it?
  10. Wild? I was absolutely livid.
  11. I've had the privilege of seeing this up close and personal ... the damage is even more impressive than this photo suggests.
  12. Sawthese at NAMM when they were first launched ... absolutely lovely piece of kit.
  13. So this turned out to be true. Only not quite in the way you might think. 😂
  14. I tink it's about time this thread was introduced to the phrase "found this in my uncle's loft, don't know anything about basses but I think it's a Fender".
  15. That's it, gone right off the idea after seeing that. 🤣
  16. Just showing you what can be achieved ...
  17. Oh go on, then. I think I just talked mytself into it. 😂
  18. This is a ridiculous amount of decent-quality kit for a knock-down price. If I thought I could shift my battered 3/4 Zeller quickly, I'd be all over this like a rash.
  19. I liked the idea of my Variax bass, but then I picked it up. Serious boat anchor stuff. All the clever electronics are held in an enormous metal box, larger than most FX pedals, which is built into the body, so there's little that can be done to reduce the weight. So I sold it again.
  20. Nowt "potential" about it, Andy! 😂
