  1. I used to own this record until Len Plaice's ferret ate it with chips.
  2. Cool. Got any that stop cats from scratching at your sofa?
  3. He played his accordion at the Bon Accord Free Church in Aberdeen according to some, d'accord?
  4. I'm sure I've seen these clues in The Times' Cryptic Crossword before.
  5. Hello, Yuletide fans, here's my cover version for this month. I've gone with a knockabout song from 1996 (25 years ago? Crikey O'Blimey!), Scooby Snacks by the Fun Lovin' Criminals who I saw a few times back in their heyday. And, seeing as I can't sing, Huey's spoken word delivery is something that I can get near to. Was going to see them again on their tour a couple of months ago but the whole thing got cancelled and now it has been announced Huey has left the band, so that doesn't bode well for any future outings. Violin bass, Epiphone guitar, cigar box guitar, Yamaha keys, Apogee+ mic and drums programmed using Hydrogen. All recorded with Wavepad and Audacity. Merry Christmas!
  6. Nice to chat bass when least expected. I work on a very small industrial unit in Northamptonshire and a good few years ago I spotted that one of the smaller units around the corner had a 'Ruach Bass Guitars' notice in the window but I could never seem to time it right to wander around and find anyone in. Eventually though I did bump in to the chap in charge called Heath and had a pleasant chat about bass-related gubbins. Sadly he moved out of the unit not long after. He's a member on here (harleyheath) but hasn't visited for a while. He did have this topic going:
  7. Myself and Rocking Rudolph have much in common. Cack handers of the world, unite!
  8. Let's chat about 12" cabs over a 12" pizza at...
  9. Bravo Mr Del Var 👏 a quality tune. And not the only one, really tough to narrow it down to a top three. Onwards to the random tombola of covers for Christmas, marvellous! 🌲
  10. Here's my entry for November. It's a slow, mellowish instrumental with lots of chiming guitar to try and get that twinkly, night sky, relaxing feeling while everyone else is doing the heavy lifting to put things in order. A Looperman sample for drums, Epiphone guitar with lots of echo effects, home-made cigar box guitar, violin bass and a tiny smidge of keys. Recorded using NCH Wavepad and Audacity.
  11. Must get me a Fart Pedal. It'll go nicely with my crappy six-string skills and this quality item that I've just snapped up at an online auction.
  12. Pffft. I could jiggle an egg shaker when I was 6. Granted, not in time, but still...
  13. Welcome to my world 🥴 it rarely ends up as I first thought it might but I plough on regardless and usually end up with something approaching listenable 😁
  14. In my last band myself and the vocalist (40+) were always trying to get the other two (drummer 50+, guitarist 20+) to play songs that were not necessarily ones we were desperate to do but tunes that everybody knows but hardly anyone does, things like' Bonkers' by Dizzee Rascal or some dance banger that we thought would get the room jumping, something a bit more modern. You could easily come up with an arrangement for this sort of stuff as we had done in a previous band with' Breathe' by The Prodigy which always went down well. But, no, let's just do another AC/DC track instead. Very frustrating. We even ended up doing 'Johnny B Goode', fer chrissake. On a personal level, It is with deep regret that I've never had the chance to perform one of the greatest noises ever committed to vinyl, 'Bikini Girls With Machine Guns' by The Cramps. However, I have played 'Another Girl, Another Planet' many times so it's swings and roundabouts, I guess.
  15. I tried that but never got the options that he does on screen ☹️
  16. Ignore this. I tried something and it didn't work properly. Story of my life, mate.
  17. Thanks all, I'd better start looking for a picture!
