  1. Attention Geddy fans, he's on BBC 6music tomorrow (Tuesday 11th) on Shaun Keaveny's programme, show starts 1pm.
  2. "Don't you know there ain't no Devil, there's just God when he's drunk" "Heartattack and Vine", Tom Waits.
  3. I have taken a bass with me on a canal holiday as had to practice new tunes for a gig immediately on our return. I think the slower pace of life on a narrowboat suits just sitting there idling the afternoon away with a tune and a beer. And my wife is pretty laid back so that helps.
  4. Sort of. Although I had heard that Johnny hates jazz.
  5. You just have 😁
  6. Well done, Ms Ball. Even though you're not a patch on your old man.
  7. Are you Zoe Ball? Your profile pic looks like her 😲
  8. Is Zoe Ball a bloke? She does that show, doesn't she?
  9. I like what I've heard from her so far. Count Your Blessings and Bye Bye are pretty good tunes too.
  10. What is this 'changing the strings' you speak of?
  11. Bravo squire, good stuff 🤠
  12. Anyone else enjoying this? Second episode tonight (28th May 9pm BBC4). Well worth a watch if the first episode is anything to go by. A travelogue around India looking at various aspects of Indian music and culture.
  13. Voted. A tough choice, some real quality again
  14. Here's my slightly rushed effort. Greek Bouzouki, Violin Bass, Hydrogen drums and silly, badly recorded spoken words. I thank you.
  15. The Mary Whitehouse Experience.
  16. I like football but must sympathise with those that don't follow it. This David Mitchell skit is bang on the money and I do find myself finding the whole 'HOW IMPORTANT COULD THAT GOAL/SAVE/PENALTY/REFEREEING DECISION BE?' hyperbole becoming more and more ludicrous. That and the obscene amounts of money swilling around.
  17. Vox - John Lydon Gtr - Bill Carter (Screaming Blue Messiahs, not the blues dude from Texas) Bass - Lemmy Drums - Topper Headon Now, there's a cacophony I'd be all over. Also require Stacia of Hawkwind fame and Bez having a dance-off at the side of the stage too.
  18. Bravo sir, a mighty fine tune 👍🎸🎺
  19. Tribute act time for me tomorrow in Market Harborough, off to see Coda, Led Zep copyists.
  20. The album 'An Evening With Wild Man Fischer' is never an easy listen, but it sure beats flavour of the month Kendrick Lamar.
  21. Not true. Although I was one of Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions 😁
  22. Just got myself an audio interface. It'll take me an age to get my head around all the recording nuances but thought I'd jump in feet first and have a go. Used a Westfield violin bass, an Epiphone Special Gibson guitar, half a drum sample courtesy of Looperman, both Audacity and Wavepad Sound Editor to put it all together. Bags of enthusiasm far outweighs any sophistication. Or talent.
  23. Anywhere convenient I can see it. And always print one LIKE THIS for our Mr.Magoo-alike drummer.
  24. There's usually a handful of songs in our set (rock and pop) that feel a bit 'meh' to me yet are considered mainstays. Take Whole Lotta Rosie. I hate playing it with a passion and would happily drop it if it were my choice, yet when we play it near the end it always takes the roof off. It's a case of grit your teeth and get it over with. One man's meat is another man's mushroom. Or something like that.
