1. Thanks man, appreciate it. So there is no opinionated BCer with a Jake Classic? Guess I'll have to be the first one ... But I am also wondering how much love there is for these Maruszczyk basses. Handmade customs in Europe, dream up a spec and it will still cost you less than a mass produced big brand one - surprised that there is not that much attention devoted to them on here. So perhaps people could share their opinions on whatever Maruszczyk bass they have. I already know Adrian is a great guy to deal with, what about the basses? Tones, finishes, body/neck shapes, etc. - let's hear it. Thanks.
2. Damn it, not this fantastic looking bass again! I thought it was all nice and gone so I can stop thinking about it... Somebody, please, buy it quick for the sake of my sanity... Not that you need it but - GLWTS.
3. It's Adrian's take on a p bass, and I am thinking of ordering one. Does anyone on here have one? Your honest opinions regarding the instrument please, thank you!

Thanks Thunderbird, sounds awesome. And NO, you have not helped with my GAS at all Tom - I've PMd you ...

SOLD

Forgive my ignorance - but what is a KiOgon loom, and what does it do in this instance? From the pics I can't really discern - is the black thingy for the killswitch a button, or..? I am asking because GAS for this bass is making me sleepless, btw.
6. Amazing bass, great price - GLWTS.
7. Oh how beautiful! Beyond my budget but GLWTS, someone is gonna get a bargain with this one.

9. I have not seen one of those ever before, and w-o-w, stunning, love at first sight! Cannot buy it at the moment so GLWTS.
10. For 500-600 quid you should seriously also consider G&Ls Tributes, L2000 has tons of character and a fine, chunky neck, or get the M series, hi-fi preamp and a slightly thinner neck but still better than jazz/ibanez thinnes - I know, got rid of an ibanez srx700 and a jazz bass once I realised how much more comfort i get out of playing a thicker neck.
11. Amazing! I would be all over this if not for a recent purchase, glwts.
12. Wow, what an awesome bass! But... Will it make me play like Flea? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KDTUr-fHwHI&feature=kp
13. Try thomann then, or PM me if you're in London, you could come round and have a go at mine if you're desperate to try one out (I know I was!)
14. I also really wanted to play one before buying but as you say, they're hard to come by. Simple answer is to order one from Thomann - with their 30 day money back guarantee you get to play one for the cost of shipping it back if you do not like it, and you get to play it when and how you wish, your amp, pedals, etc, and not in a store. I did that and, well, I am keeping it - hardly surprising though, GAS is a cruel, cruel disease. (After I sorted out a replacement as I am very fussy and the first one that I got was not 'perfect'.) Also, there is one on sale on this very forum - surely the seller would be happy to arrange a try-out from a potential buyer.
15. Just to bump it to the top so you can feast your eyes on the replacement that arrived today. (Have to admit it - Thomann are brilliant.)

Withdrawn

I played its 800 sibling in shop recently - could not believe the quality, especially the fretwork. Wide but not chunky neck, great electronics. And this one, wow, love the blue finish. GLWTS.
17. I bought one recently - and can say these are top notch, very comfortable neck and a superb, versatile preamp. Good luck with the sale, this looks like a bargain.
18. I hear you guys - and you're probably right. But my pedantic, OCD-self comes across this bit every time I play this bass, and it is just under my thumb whenever I play anything 5-7fret-wise (which is all the time ) and it just annoys me so I am sending it back, their customer service has proven outstanding so far - they're paying for the courier and sending me a replacement, all sorted via emails within less than two days. Good news though - expect it at a b-stock price at that rather well-known German online retailer soon!
19. Similarities with G&L ASAT end with body, everything else is different, bridge, pickups, headstock, a pretty mysterious beast ...
20. Must. Seek. Help. ... However, I noticed a certain imperfection on the back of the neck, around 5-6 fret. I started staring at it and it grew into a size of a crater in my head, in reality being a 15mm thin strip of a rough area on a pleasantly smooth neck. Then I also noticed a small (maybe even tiny ...) scratch also on the neck around the 4th fret. And while these things do not affect playability at all, I reckoned that this being the most expensive bass I bought to date and brand new it is reasonable to expect mint, perfect, spotless condition... Right?? (Looking through the classifieds here this would probably go down as 'a ding' or 'a scratch' or something along the lines of 'almost perfect (but not quite..)'. I can't say I feel comfortable saying I bought a brand new bass that is ALMOST perfect in terms of finish. I would definitely not leave a shop with it if I spotted it, and you can't miss it since it is in the “money making” area of the neck.) So... I emailed the customer service, they offered a 50 euro off of the original price, or I can send it back for a replacement. Decided I want a replacement as I think its resale value is lowered by this imperfection in the finish by more than that. Or am I being a little bit too fussy, perhaps?
21. Thanks John, can't really put it down. I have to confess. I sold some instruments recently. And I found myself in tremors, in absolute delirium, could not stand the state of not being able to say 'my basses' or 'my guitars', the thought of uttering a sentence where bass was to be in singular form (NOOOOOO!!!!!!!) was just too much. GAS took over, with sweaty palms I entered card details into an online payment form less than 24 hours after becoming single-bassed. Help me ...
22. I am loving the new baby, can't deny it. hamfist - neepheid summarised his comparison here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/207002-gl-m2000m2500-us-tribute-opinions/, and all I can add: my thoughts exactly (in fact, his review was one of the reasons I went for another G&L ). Interesting thing is what different instruments do to your style of playing, and I feel I am going a bit more aggressive and in your face with the L, and then I get a bit more subtle, smooth and groovy with the M. Happy days
23. Fellow BCers, two days ago I became a happy owner of the said bass. This M-2000 beauty is a little sister to the L-2000 Tribute with a maple fretboard I bought a year ago. Two completely different basses I have to say. Great bass, incredibly powerful and quiet preamp, superb craftsmanship* for the money - though what the hell do I know, this is the most expensive bass I've ever owned. Edit: This is now boxed, going back to the shop for a spotless replacement. *I spoke too soon, and found some imperfections - my ranting below ... EDIT2: THE REPLACEMENT IS HERE! This one is absolutely perfect, check it out: (No idea why the pics are flipped ... )
24. Oh wow, BCers on the case, thanks!
25. Thanks KK - I thought so but had doubts and imagined BCers will come up with some specific, obscure bass extravaganza trivia.
