1. Has anyone got a power amp - mono or stereo - I can have a loan of for a few hours? I just want to see whether I can integrate something into my existing setup. I'm based in Crowthrone, Berkshire...close to Bracknell/Reading. I can collect or if you want to accompany the amp on it's date, I'll gladly throw in coffee and cakes! CheersP
2. One surefire way to increase the value of a new bass is to break it up into its individual parts/components and sell these off individually, a la the Stratosphere seller on eBay. P
3. I have no idea why this is still here. What's wrong with you people?? If I didn't already have four TBs and another NR coming in January, I'd have this like a shot. I'll trade you my Waterstone. Have a bump. P
4. Don't own one, but noodled on one for about half hour in the US this summer and really liked it. The component parts (jazz body, precision profile neck) was a decent combination, especially for my gorilla sized hands. I didn't like the colour (green) or the pearlescent scratchplate. The single volume control was fine, sounded decent enough through a variety of amps. I know they used to do a black/black/rosewood issue which is more me. Body styling aside, it's effectively a Precision without a tone control...you could always wire in a single stack knob if that was going to be an issue. Best P
5. Over on the LBO one of the guys just picked up his NR in pelham blue and has posted a couple of pictures. Very pretty bass. Key Music are telling me delivery for mine is going to be mid-December to mid-January 2013. Apparently Thomann have already sold out their allotment. P
6. Time to say goodbye to this. It's a minty series 1, #33, 34" scale. I'll throw in a new set of D'Addario's and a long Levy's 3" strap. It's fitted with Dunlop Straploks, but is otherwise 100% stock. It comes with a very flimsy Waterstone gig-bag. Immense tone! Super rare. Will sell for £650 shipped. No trades please. Cheers Paul
7. He has actually does have a book out.
8. There's a white one on Ishibashi. Needs a bit of TLC (and a Gibson truss rod cover), but stupid cheap @ £550. http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/u_box/e/select.php?cd=16-325625802 P
9. I'll put some pics up, yes. I have a Hipshot Supertone bridge on order, so I'll do before and afters...I really don't get on with the three-point bridges. Release date is supposed to be 25/10, but I've actually no idea when it'll arrive. P
10. ...around £800 at Key Music, plus free delivery. Ordered a vintage sunburst model this afternoon. P
11. Vicar Buy yourself a secondhand Line6 Bass Pod (#1) and plug it into the effects return of your Ashdown. Search the Line6 archive for some custom settings. P
12.
Having just spent the morning at the new Fender Factory Tour in the US...
Any freebies? Went on the Ben & Jerry factory tour got free ice-cream and frozen yoghurt. Just asking. P
13. I had one of these as well. Great amps and very versatile! P
14. Good stuff. P
15. There's some conjecture dependent on how you're using this as to whether the nut needs reslotting. I used it as a baritone for a while and as it came with a set of roundwound Fender Bass VI strings (92-25) I decided to give it a go with these a few weeks ago. The nut certainly hasn't needed any attention and as the bass strings as fairly low tension it's been unecessary to tweak the truss rod either. P
16. The Bigsby is very stable...it is possible to string this without the tremolo being active. P
17. Any interest in one of these? Black sparkle (very sparkly), bolt on maple neck, Bigsby tremolo. Great condition. I used it for a while as a baritone (long scale, tuned B-B...twangy) and currently it's set up in a Bass VI configuration (shortscale bass, tuned E-F...also twangy, but in a bass stylee). It's not been out of the house since I got it. For some reason it didn't have a pick guard when I bought it, the seller had taken it off and promised to find it and forward, but it didn't happen. I'm sure you could source one online, but to be honest it never bothered me that it was missing (but hey, I would say that wouldn't I?). I guess I'd take £275 for it. There's no gig bag or anything - sorry. Best P NB: Edited to upload photo.
