I've got a Boss BR600. On-board mics are a little patchy, but plug in a couple and it's great. As a bonus we tracked everything for our recent demos on it before dropping everything onto a PC. Cracking bit of kit, easy to use etc. The only downside is that the maximum CF card size is stupid small, but this hasn't been an issue (yet). P
I was just having fun with these guys.
Wayne, I f2cking dig you. P

I got an e-mail from Key this afternoon. You pay what is on the site, no extras. This is great...I know where my money is going! On the downside, what I'm after doesn't drop until January P

Bootsy Thanks for the information. I'm sourcing a couple of things at the moment and one of their basses worked out about £115 cheaper than Thomann (which is my usual benchmark). Any indication that they added any taxes on top of the advertised price? I saw they add a smallish percentage for credit card/PayPal payments. Cheers P

Anyone dealt with these guys before? Some of their prices look, well frankly, stupid cheap. http://www.keymusic.com P

I wouldn't want to be in a band with anyone who uses there where they should be using their. P

I know there's appreciating classics and there's junk, but £200+. I seem to remember these being on sale exclusively at Woolworths in the 1970s for about £20.00. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Satellite-shortscale-bass-guitar-60s-70s-superb-/290777510009?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43b3b0b079 P

If you're interested in Tom Peterssons rig/sound you may find this interesting...just the first few minutes should suffice. He pretty much dumped the Reeves/Rickenbacker backline in favour of a Sansamp BDDI/Orange set up. Interesting stuff. Great tone. I have my Lakland Skyline DJ5 up for sale - £900 shipped. It's finished in black sparkle, maple neck/rosewood board/with pearl blocks. Dunlop straplocks (I’ll supply the strap fittings at well), OHSC. Pretty much minty barring a tiny circular surface chip (c.2mm across - see last photo). The pickguard is a replacement Jeannies, great fit, no additional holes (I have the original three ply white pickguard somewhere which I'll dig out if a buyer wants it). I don't know whether the pickups are Aeros, Fralins or Lakland (if someone would care to enlighten me, I'd be please to check). Soundwise, I’m obviously going to say it’s huge, aren’t I? You know these basses well enough. I used it on two of my recent recordings which you can find here: www.nancyjohnson.co.uk (Staying In was clean/straight into the recorder and The Boy Just Loves (Being a Girl) was through a Sansamp BDDI). Why am I selling? Twofold. I guess primarily I’m really just not playing five stringers at all and haven't done so in some time - I moved on a Bongo 5HH a couple of months back - plus, I have my eye on a NR Gibson Thunderbird reissue due at the end of October. It's a beautiful bass. Any questions, give me a shout. Cheers P

We jammed at 9.00am this morning for four hours. Sunday. Just wrong. I'm not saying we didn't rock, but my weekend is over. I need to go to bed. P

I find it very hard to read his eBay pitches. It's almost like he's run the English through a translator into Japanese and then back again. All you base are belong to us. And so on. P

No affiliation...seems a stupid price. Needs a new volume pot. P http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/washburn-n1-electric-guitar/110813027
A stunning trio if I may say so.
Why yes you can. Cheers! Dependent on how funds go, I'll hope to be adding one of the new non-reverse Thunderbirds. P

I used them both last night and the black one is a tad fuller/phatter than the white one...it's about ten years older so I guess it's feasible that wood has mellowed; nice though...all good.

Gibson Thunderbird Non Reverse reissue (September)
NancyJohnson replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
I shot an e-mail out...it's a little vague at the moment. No specs, price around $1.2K in the US. There's also an EB2D coming as well. I guess I'll have to start thinking how much I can get for my DJ5!! P P -
Gibson Thunderbird Non Reverse reissue (September)

At the moment I haven't got a clue...but if they are, then I'd be a happy puppy. I've shot an e-mail to the original poster to get more info. P -
They're just fabulous, I love the look and feel of Thunderbirds, I just have a dilemma with the tone of my Tokai, whether or not to tamper with it's electrics. I want a bit more of a punch to the tone. I've asked John East if he can offer me an EQ to put in it, just to give me some tonal options, but maybe it wouldn't sound like a Thunderbird any more, don't know. If it was a Gibson, it could be worth splashing the cash, but is a Tokai worth the upgrade, not sure, but the Baddass is a vast improvement on the stock bridge for sure...............
I've heard nothing but good about the Tokai TBs...if it was me I'd maybe look at swapping out the pickups first. If you stick and East preamp in, then all you would be doing is preamping a pair of pickups that you've inferred aren't delivering. EMG make some direct replacements (TB-HZ) and if you shopped around, a pair would probably set you back around the same as an East unit and you'd have to think they would be better than the stock Tokai units. Alternatively, consider trying it through a Sansamp BDDI...even cheaper that the EMGs and at least you can turn it off! P

We just finished recording. The whole album is pop/punky stuff. If you're a fan of Ash, 3 Colours Red, it might be your bag. It's streaming from here: http://www.nancyjohnson.co.uk Gearwise I used either my Thunderbird or my Aria ProII Primary Bass into a Sansamp direct. P
+1 for that. I see not everyone agrees though (on the outpost for instance).
Yeah, Mark is a bit of a trad boy/girl, but he just seems to want to rip put all the stock guts and put Lulls in! P

The black Gibson TB arrived a couple of days ago; the whitey and black Hamer FBIV arrived about three years ago. Hipshot Supertone bridge incoming for the new arrival (damn those three-point bridges are awful). P
