1. I'll put some pics up, yes. I have a Hipshot Supertone bridge on order, so I'll do before and afters...I really don't get on with the three-point bridges. Release date is supposed to be 25/10, but I've actually no idea when it'll arrive. P
2. ...around £800 at Key Music, plus free delivery. Ordered a vintage sunburst model this afternoon. P
3. Vicar Buy yourself a secondhand Line6 Bass Pod (#1) and plug it into the effects return of your Ashdown. Search the Line6 archive for some custom settings. P
4.
Having just spent the morning at the new Fender Factory Tour in the US...
Any freebies? Went on the Ben & Jerry factory tour got free ice-cream and frozen yoghurt. Just asking. P
5. I had one of these as well. Great amps and very versatile! P
6. Good stuff. P
7. Gone to Owen in Wales! Cheers P
8. sorry...don't actually understand the question...
9. There's some conjecture dependent on how you're using this as to whether the nut needs reslotting. I used it as a baritone for a while and as it came with a set of roundwound Fender Bass VI strings (92-25) I decided to give it a go with these a few weeks ago. The nut certainly hasn't needed any attention and as the bass strings as fairly low tension it's been unecessary to tweak the truss rod either. P
10. The Bigsby is very stable...it is possible to string this without the tremolo being active. P
11. Any interest in one of these? Black sparkle (very sparkly), bolt on maple neck, Bigsby tremolo. Great condition. I used it for a while as a baritone (long scale, tuned B-B...twangy) and currently it's set up in a Bass VI configuration (shortscale bass, tuned E-F...also twangy, but in a bass stylee). It's not been out of the house since I got it. For some reason it didn't have a pick guard when I bought it, the seller had taken it off and promised to find it and forward, but it didn't happen. I'm sure you could source one online, but to be honest it never bothered me that it was missing (but hey, I would say that wouldn't I?). I guess I'd take £275 for it. There's no gig bag or anything - sorry. Best P NB: Edited to upload photo.
12. I've got a Boss BR600. On-board mics are a little patchy, but plug in a couple and it's great. As a bonus we tracked everything for our recent demos on it before dropping everything onto a PC. Cracking bit of kit, easy to use etc. The only downside is that the maximum CF card size is stupid small, but this hasn't been an issue (yet). P
13.
I was just having fun with these guys.
Wayne, I f2cking dig you. P
14. I got an e-mail from Key this afternoon. You pay what is on the site, no extras. This is great...I know where my money is going! On the downside, what I'm after doesn't drop until January P
15. Bootsy Thanks for the information. I'm sourcing a couple of things at the moment and one of their basses worked out about £115 cheaper than Thomann (which is my usual benchmark). Any indication that they added any taxes on top of the advertised price? I saw they add a smallish percentage for credit card/PayPal payments. Cheers P
16. Anyone dealt with these guys before? Some of their prices look, well frankly, stupid cheap. http://www.keymusic.com P
17. I wouldn't want to be in a band with anyone who uses there where they should be using their. P
18. I love this maker. The baritones are lush. P
19. The headstock has an SX quality to it...
20. I know there's appreciating classics and there's junk, but £200+. I seem to remember these being on sale exclusively at Woolworths in the 1970s for about £20.00. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Satellite-shortscale-bass-guitar-60s-70s-superb-/290777510009?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43b3b0b079 P
21. If you're interested in Tom Peterssons rig/sound you may find this interesting...just the first few minutes should suffice. He pretty much dumped the Reeves/Rickenbacker backline in favour of a Sansamp BDDI/Orange set up. Interesting stuff. Great tone. 22. Bass is provisionally heading up to County Durham. If circumstances change I'll repost. Cheers P
23.
Check the pick-up wires. Cloth covered = Lindy Fralin Black/White pvc wires = Aero Red/Green pvc wires = Lakland
Aeros. P
