is that £350 for both cabs, if so im very interested! whereabouts are you based?
Yes it's for both cabs...... unbelievable isn't it ? My God I'm good to you guys !! I live in Sunderland, but can be flexible re meeting up etc... ATB
2. Guys, I'm going to be needing a more dirty distorted / overdriven sound for future gigs and have bought a cheap 410 to thrash and not be bothered about..... Hence my lovely DR. BASS cabs are up for grabs.... Recently purchased from our very own BassJamm for £450 i'm offering these up at an amazing £350 !!! The Cabs are : 1260 which is a compact 3 way design which has a 12" driver 6" Driver & Horn. Rated 500W 210 compact offset 210 cab rated at 600W All Drivers are High Quality Eminence.... Both cabs are 8ohm and together make a really potent compact / lightweight rig for all but the biggest of stages. I did a gig with a my old U2 Tribute recently, medium size venue with 3k pa support. The sound guy said he hardly had me on the desk, he couldn't believe the output from these clever little boxes. Good nearfield sound too ! I can easily carry both cabs (1 in each hand) and they fit side by side into the boot of my BMW 3 series RX1260 51cm wide 39.cm high 38cm deep RX210 51cm wide 45.5cm high 38cm deep May do a deal with good quality compact combo... eg phil jones / mark bass or PX towards a Rosewood Board Stingray
3.
I think I got the last one of these before Steve Kennedy did a runner, took me two months of phone calls to get it though. They are great cabs for the money, well made, lightweight and sound quite good too. I have owned a 410 and 2 2x10s. There are quite a few on this site who have used them.
Thanks buddy..... they seem to have a decent reputation, for the price i'm paying, don't think I can go wrong ! Mark
4.
By chance, you didn't buy this on a certain forum dedicated to the local music scene in the north east run by a large red headed bloke who impersonates Bernie Marsden at weekends did you?
ha ha Yes mate I did !! picking it up this morning...... I'm using some distortions and stuff live and just wanted a cheap cab to not have to worry about !!
5.
After that sell me the Lakky BG sunburst USA with jazz bridge pup! Of course I know you haven't got one... yet
I'd really love that Bass !!!
6. Hi I used to have a 4-94 and have had my hands on a number of 44-02's The difference (IMHO) is not subtle..... I used to own a skyline BG, it was good, well made but something always felt like it was built to a budget. I'm after another 4-94 at the minute
7. Hi Guys, I've Just bought one of these for £90 it's got 4 eminence beta 300w drivers in it anyone know what these are all about, why a well constructed cab with good components was so cheap ? what do they perform like on a gig ? ATB Mark
8. commercially nieve that's me...... come on take advantage of me !!! Got some DR. BASS cabs to sell now as well !!!
9.
That was quick! What recession?
Priced to sell you see..... Now for the Flea Bass..... looks like it could be on it's way today too !!!
10.
Oh...no...GAS...attack... No offence intended here, but is £1k a good price? I know nothing about their value you see.
None taken.....!! Bass is £1750 in this spec, I think £1000 ono is a decent price to sell rather than a feeler ! If anyone looks back at my previous for sale threads, When I sell stuff I price it to sell and it usually does quickly.... However as always the market will decide.... ATB Mark
11. Well get handy in pocket and you buyey !!
12. Guys, Got an opportunity to buy something i've always wanted so i'm selling my 2 basses (See Modulus Flea for Sale) Anyone who knows me.... knows I know Jazz Basses and I don't buy no crap !!! This one came to me via a mate and I had the opportunity to try it on a gig befor I bought it.... I couldn't hand the cash over quick enough !! It's a lot of Bass Propper block & bound rosewood neck, lovely flame maple top (FMT) Tone wise..... think Sadowsky and you're there...... very usable 3 band EQ The bass benefits from a recent pro set up and fret dress, plays faultlessly with a lovely low action. Body is slightly smaller (again think Sadowsky) and the weight is feather weight !! Price is £750 - Collection is prefered but delivery is possibe, it comes with a gig bag. 07818 044187 if ya wanna chin wag about it.....
13. pics now added...... Yes the Bass is a recent purchase but I have the opportunity to buy something i've always wanted and the cash will need to come from somewhere ! My Fender Jazz FMT could be net up on the Block !!

I get really jealous when I see great pictures, I can never seem to take a good photo !!! The Bass isn't as Yellow as it looks in the first 3 photo's..... the 4th photo is a better guide. GK amps
Thanks for your comments ... do you use GK presently ? . if so what model and cabs ? .
I used a GKRB700 II 210 combo with a RB210 cab making on pokey 410 rig !! used to sound fantastic..... all the "real world" volume you'd ever need with great presence in a band mix, still not heard much to top this rig live with a Jazz bass ! Had one of my moments and sold the rig when I had a break from playing....... now i'm doing some dep work i've gone for a RB700II head which i'm using with a pair of DR. Bass cabs..... Fab !!! I've got a deal going to P the 700 for a 1001 - don't really need the power but want the headroom... I'm thinking of getting some GK cabs so I can take benefit of the Bi Amping again.... I'm using some heavey distortion and I like the ability to back off the power to the horns..... Based on using just about everything else out there..... Bang for your buck in the real world, GK stuff delivers in spades !! ATB Mark
17. Well be sure to give me a shout buddy !!
18. Hey Nicko..... next time you're up in Geordie-Land i'll have a couple of hours brushing up on my Tidly-Bop Mark

GK amps

Hiya, few things are gonna match the Boogie 400 for output..... If you fancy GK and what that sort of muscle it's gonna have to be the RB2001 but you'll need 2 x 4 ohm cabs to get the best out of it I've been around the planet with Bass amps...... for me in a live setting the GK tone works.... the tone shaping is very simple but effective at the frequencies that matter.... ATB Mark
20. Wehey........ SORTED !!! I love this place !!!
21. Replied..... very interested
22. I think in absolute HiFi terms home audio reproduction reached a peak in the late 80's with the LP format.... since then, the industry has been trying to make Digital as convincing.... fighting a losing battle (IMHO) however.... "They" have to keep coming up with new "super formats" to make us part with our £££s & $$$s
23.
I was thinking the same about "Retroglide" right from the first day I put it in my car's autochanger... The first track in particular is mixed terribly. The instrumentation totally drowns out the vocals!
Not saying the album is a production masterpiece...... it isn't by any means. Not exactly a Quincy Jones effort !! But mixed on high quality studio monitors and then listened to in the car with a critical ear doesn't translate ! It's avery different listening environment even with a good quality in car audio system. I spent a small fortune on a Naim Audio system only to find that it's too revealing of the limitations of the source material and the mix engineer's ability !! 70% of my CD's sound horrible....... don't even think about MP3 playback..... !!! Want badly engineered CD's ? try Zappa's CD back catalogue..... on LP they're fantastic, CD transfers are shockingly bad ! Just my HO ofcourse.... I know Jack Sh*t really....
24. I had a fantastic 1997 4-94 loved it to bits.... the Bartolini's just didn't suit me at the time, bit polite for what I wanted. Still one of the best put together & playing / feeling bass i've ever owned I've owned a couple of Skylines and tried out loads... I'd have to say there is more of a difference btw the USA basses and the Skylines than many people say... certainly more of a difference than say the USA Sadowsky's and their Metro equivalents. Cheers Mark
