This is a cherry red fender usa deluxe jazz bass that I bought on this forum around christmas time. I paid £625 for it, and had to go pick it up. When I first got it, I loved it, the action was great, and it slapped really well. It feels nice and has a great sound. It comes in a moulded fender hard case with a strap and strap locks included. The strings that I have on it, do not do it justice at all! For that reason, I am selling it for £600 to allow the buyer to have the £25 they saved to buy new strings. I live in Sunderland which could be a problem, as most people tend to live down south. If anyone has any interest, let me know and Ill put some photos up. Reason for selling - have too many guitars and really need some cash.
Alreet Bonny Lad ? Living in Sunderland isn't a problem marra ! I've bought and sold well over £150,000 worth of Basses in the last 10 years, all over the world (Japan, USA, Canada, Brazil, Chilli, Holland German, France, Italy.... and god knows where else) Even sold a few in Newcastle...... but don't hold that against me Good luck with the sale !! My mate (non muso) said to me there's a great bit of slap bass playing on sky.... bet you couldn't playe it ! Really annoying that I had to play it for him to shut him up at a bar-b-que a couple of weeks ago !! Even drunk I made it sound better that it did on the tele !!

Have I bitten off more that I can chew?

We used to regularly take bookings for an acoustic version of our U2 tribute show, smaller venues, or those with a tight budget used to love it !! Had a Thursday night residency at Durham County Cricket Club doing the set without drums !! Bit boring like if i'm honest !!! -
Hmm, thats the first time Ive seen flea lose his temper! What a waste of a perfectly good bass, to smash it up because it was wrongly tuned? Mind you im sure that graph neck will be just fine
hmmmm..... wonder if it's the one Beedster, Me and Artisan owned !!
i love anthony's comment 'don't give that man an out of tune bass' you sure it was just drop D?? it sounded like everything wasn't in tune
Might be right actually..... The drop D thing just made sense, a guitar tech giving a rock star a totally out of tune bass didn't

Looks like he was handed the Bass he uses (used to use) D tuned for "By the Way" See now i'd have just retuned it

Inspired by the above post..... Flea should get a Lakland 4-94 best of both Jazz and MM tones in 1 bass..... I had one with Bartolini's in and it was just a little too polite for the Flea stuff..... possibly the best playing bass i've ever owned..... I understand the Lakland pups & circuits fitted into current models are a bit more aggressive sounding !

WOT I can totally get where you're at with this : I've recently had to think differently about my approach to playing, previously i'd just learn the song (by ear) and play it.... Now using blues scale & pentatonic thinking I can come up with fills and little solos pretty easily in any key, however, E is where it's at for sure !!!
The rumour I've read a couple of places is that a record Co. exec gave it to him as a gift.
I understand this is true.... it's odds on Fender will produce a signature model, no chance they're gonna miss an opportunity like that. Just hope they make it properly..... In Japan !!! Hope they don't use the USA Vintage series to base the model on....I've had 3 62 stacknob re-issues and they've all had rubber neck syndrome !

some great ideas, tips and suggestions...... After years of biting my nails down to the stumps i've grown my plucking finger nails and it's made a difference to the attack of the notes for sure, I think with some added bite and my recently purchased Aphex Punch Factory i'm getting there !! Thanks guys....
Glad you said 'bloke' otherwise 'big/beard/glasses' could have included 50% of the women of Bedlington and before you jump down my throat... I'm allowed to mock as I'm from Blyth and that ratio would be 75% If half the bass playing fraternity of the area turns up I'm not sure there'll be room in Bubbles for the punters!
Oh Great...... It's a Bass Players convention and i'm depping in a Red Hot Chilli Peppers Tribute !!! No Pressure Then Mr Hunt.... are you coming ? If so i'll bring you that OBP1 I owe you !! Mark

Warwickhunt is correct....... I have a pair of DR. Bass cabs, picked them up here 2nd hand I have the 1260 (3 way compact cab with a 12' 6' & horn) cracking little cab pn it's own. I also have a Dr. Bass 210 which I'm currently looking for replacement drivers.... I've had the drivers out and the cabs are really solidly constructed very simple design but very effective - good live sound from using the pair together, I use the 1260 for home practice I'm playing this Saturday at "Bubbles" in Ashington if you fancy hearing them - maybe give them a quick try out yourself... PM me if you want further details ATB Mark
