Worth trying is the Eden 210XST. I find there's more bottom end at lower volumes than two single 12s, although having them is a great option too. The Eden is relatively light for such a top end bass cab and isn't much wider than the DB750 in a rackcase. Happy hunting. I'm quite excited for you :-)
I've used Eden Cabs previously and really enjoyed them (XLT's) I found the 410 XLT very similar to the Aguilar GS410 I've fancied the XST for a while, I might hunt it down..... I'm excited too ! !
I've posted this before. If you're interested in understanding why things cost what they do you should learn some basic economics... wikipedia supply and demand What is important with second instruments is how rare they are, which makes the supply curve steeper (inelastic) and therefore the price becomes more sensitive to changes in demand. And how desirable the instrument is - which pushes the demand curve further from the origin on the graph, because more people demand the instrument at every theoretical price. The transaction price occurs where the demand curve crosses the supply curve. The price someone is willing to supply something for, is equal to the price someone is willing to pay.
I'm not sure elementary A level Economics applies to Bass Guitars, firstly we're all nuts here ! and secondly we buy on emotion and try to justify with logic - not the other way around !

Totally depends upon the Instrument i'd say I bought my Stingray 2 Band Natural (Real Stonker) for £999 Brand New from Guitar Guitar I'd suggest in the current depressed Stingray Market £650 would be about right 65% residual ! However I bought an Alembic Series II a while back for £3k which would have been the thick end of £10k New even with the current £ / $ ratio 30% residual ? I'd suggest a 60% Residual would be about fair on most instruments (just my opinion ofcourse)
Not being funny - but do you tell the rest of the band what instruments they should play?
Firstly, I agree, but it seems to be a guitarists disease where they have to have (ill founded) opinions on the bassists sound. Secondly, this is a great bass at a great price, don't let the fact that it's changed hands a couple of times recently put any one off buying it ! It's agreat example of a Lakland BG and a great Precision Bass Mark

Looks like a smashing Day...... I hope Nicko wasn't too full on with his thunder thumbs oooh me horns !!! I rekon a North East Bass Bass is a must in the summer, even if I have to organise it !!! Choice of amps may well be a little limited up here mind, DB750's all round !!

Did Jaco Have a Precision ? Maybe this is the Long Lost Bass of Gloom !!
It is quite a "sexy beast" - the few times I've played it live I've always had really positive comments from the odd muso in the crowd. One thing to add about it is that the quality of tone really brings the best out of the more modern "clean" style of amplification. I used it regularly with an SWR top of the range rig and also recently with my Euphonic set up. Have played it through an EBS combo as well and it really sings through this kind of quality amp
Good job I spent the currency from my Flea Bass or i'd be sending you a PM on this baby !! Nice Nice Nice !!!
It depends whether you want it to still sound like a Stingray. I bought an SR5 in 2003 that had an OBP3 and a Bartolini in it. I didn't like the Bart so I changed it for an SD and then a Nordstrand. It had a really nice clean sound but it wasn't an SR5 anymore. It's took me almost 5 years to track down and fit an genuine SR5 pick-up and pre-amp and then it sounded like an SR5 but I didn't like it. It was just a bit coarse, if you know what I mean, so I put the Nordstrand back in. All is now right. Before swapping out the pre-amp consider changing the pick-up.
That's an interesting and thought provoking perspective..... I love the "Classic Stingray Tone" but i'm not mated to it...... If it's an improvement (to me) i'd be happy even if it sounded less like a stingray ! I was considering a Nordy pup actually, They are supposed to be close to the Pre EB Pups, I just get the idea that the Standard Circuit lacks some headroom if that's the right term ? On another topic, i'll be contacting you for some speakon cables shortly once I get my cabs sorted ! Thanks Mark
From memory, the MM circuit "inspired" the Aguilar (as well as the Sadowsky..designed by Alex Aguilar?), but you might need to find room for two 9V batteries? I've got the older boxed version, and its great. But I would talk to John East first, about his "early MM" circuit before reaching for the soldering iron... BB
Yes ofcourse...... I forgot about John's MM circuit - Thanks Mark

I agree without Jaco Playing it's just an old knackered Jazz, however, If Jaco's bass was auctioned with good provenence then i'm sure it would go for way more than any of John Entwhistle's basses, and some of them went for seiously daft money ! No doubt it would end up in a glass case in Japan ! Stanley's Brown Bass, Miller's 77 Jazz are both just lumps of wood to..... I'm sure there are better examples of Alembics and Fenders, but their connection to the players give them their value and desirability. Mark

Hi Guys, I've just acquired an Aguilar DB750 and i'm considering my choice of Cabs Gigs these days are mainly smallish pub / club type situations with PA Support I've gone for the DB750 for it's tone more than the huge power so i'm not planning (or needing) to run the head down to 2 ohms to get the full power. So i'm considering a pair of small 8ohm cabs. or a single 4 ohm cab. Options considered so far are a pair of Aguilar DB112's or a DB410 (also considering a GS410) I'm pretty sure the DB410 would do any gig I'll be doing for the forseeable future, however the DB112's do really appeal as a small footprint and easy to transport package. Is the DB212 worth considering in all this ? Would a pair of DB112's be authorative enough in the context of a rock band's stage mix ? Also - has anyone A B'd the GS410 v the DB410 ? Any advice most welcome Thanks Mark

Hi Guys, I own an Ash / Maple 2 Band Stingray, considering dropping in an Aguilar OBP1 circuit to replace the Standard Circuit, I just have a feeling that the Aguilar circuit might be a higher quality pre-amp and i'm going to be using it with an Aguilar DB750 Couple of Questions : Has anyone done this ? - Any thoughts ? What is the voicing of the MM 2 band circuit ? - I know the OBP1 is 40hz & 4khz Cheers Mark
I thought I'd update on the Flea. I'm absolutely loving it, popped some new strings on today (EB Ultra Slinkeys) and actually had a raise the action a smidge, so graphite necks do move a bit I'm loving the tone when a little bit of bass is boosted and the mids are very upper middy which is great for a slappin' an a poppin' if that's your thing. Basically, I'm loving it, oops must stop repeating myself.
Pleased you and the Flea are getting along so well........ hell of a bass that just screams to be slapped !!!
Has the bass been modded so that there is a side mounted jack and if not do you have all the bits to return it to stock?
Hi John, it's got a side mounted Jack with a mid control where the old Jack used to be..... the prev owner sold the original pups
