  1. Help, i simply can't make my mind up. The honeymoon period is over with my Warwick Streamer S1 I acquired last month. I've decided that one is a keeper for now, I love it, sits great in a rock covers band I'm playing with. Wife has now caught up on the accounts and reminded me that I said I would sell a bass upon the purchase of said Streamer. So which one to go of the residual stock - tough decision: I have a Stingray, barely use it but i like it's looks (Blue) and if i haven't got a Stingray i always want one, probably best this one remains plus it is well beaten so probably worth more to keep than sell. It's going to have to be between my sunburst Fender J or Sunburst P then, but which one to go??? First up: Fender J, My Pro's Highly rated post 2012 model (2015) with the 60's PU's, rosewood neck, versatile, not too heavy. Con's don't like the raised pole pieces on the PU's, super clean so fear of scratching it. Probably worth around £875 ish i reckon Second up: Fender P 2008 model, Pro's Simple to use being a P, good bass for the occasional deps i do with my old functions band (50's, 60's music), has a Lollar pick up upgrade. Con's Maple board (prefer rosewood) Prob worth around £800 ish i reckon Which one to sacrifice to the sales guillotine ...help!
  2. Cheers. The neck is quite nice, chunky around the 12th if i'm picky but overall pretty shallow. Not sure on sizes but the nut end looks just slightly bigger than a jazz but as i say shallow depth. According to a Warwick serial dater, and to my surprise, it says it was born in Dec 2017...newer than i thought. Yup, one of these https://shop.warwick.de/en/Instruments/E+-+Basses/Warwick+Teambuilt/GPS+Streamer/GPS+Streamer+Stage+I/Warwick+Teambuilt+Pro+Series+Streamer+Stage+I+4-String+-+Natural+Transparent+Satin
  3. Well, since completing the holy trinity bass collection of Jazz, Precision & Stingray that trinity may now have to be broken as i decide which one to sacrifice for my new addition. I've carefully negotiated with Mrs Raslee to keep hold of what I've got right now whilst I work through the honeymoon period - maybe she'll forget ahem!. I have always liked Warwick basses, they just feel right, perfect adjustments and always a quality build. However, I was never overly keen on that phallic top horn on the Corvette styles I previously owned. I vowed one day I'll try the Streamer and today was that day. The stars aligned in space, the sun shined on my wallet, Bootsy was on the one, Trump had his mouth closed and my wife was seemingly on good acid (or at least she must have been on something to have supported the purchase) - and better still Mansons in Exeter had a used Streamer Stage 1 and a LX both in natural (preference). So after engineering the trip to Exeter rather than another fricken National Trust jaunt i plugged the yummies in, also tired a Manson bass too whilst the wife and little ones went off shopping. The LX as expected had a lot more growl, dare I say harsh compared to the S1. I decided right away a no on the Mansons bass...nice but pricey and the tone sounded a bit thin to my ears. Then I tried the Streamer S1 and I was really taken by the versatility of tone on tap, further still it felt astonishingly lovely to play and was a nice weight too, not really owned many neck throughs before either. Both the LX and S1 were nice but the S1 was the clear winner to my ears ....so I text the wife to tell her 'I love her'. I have not researched the build year yet but if feels probably mid 00's or later. Played for the last 3 hours and I'm kicking myself why have i never played one of these beauts before...right now I love it.....of course it could be the honeymoon period...but it is good, very good...in fact I'll end this NBD here....
  4. Warwick GAS...first GAS in a long time...off to see a Streamer S1 & LX tomorrow...credit card looks good and the wife is smiling :hi:

  5. After many bass changes, GAS, high & low, 5ers etc etc I've come to the conclusion I must stick to the 'holy trinity' of Jazz , Precision and Stingray....no matter what it all comes back to this for me. I hanker after the other if the trinity is incomplete, i divert to others basses too but keep coming back...I've managed to remain with the holy trinity for 4 weeks...it's like rehab
  6. Put an Aguilar pickup in my Stingray recently, absolutely love it. Kept that Stingray tone but with a better balance, perhaps slightly less highs & lows but lovely across all strings. Well done on your purchase - I prefer the Rosewood necks than the maple I have.
  7. Just sold a bass body to Ovi. A great Basschatter all round, absolutely no problems here. Deal with confidence as they say.
  8. Sorted for my BT8 so these bad boys are sale only. £50 includes the postage
  9. PM's replied, still here at present. Agree the original pictures i did were atrocious - i'll pass on photography as a past time . Anyhow the body is original finish, very clean - hopefully these better pics will show this
  10. Your absolutely right mate, just tried booking a drop off & delivery and encountered this 'large parcel' nightmare. They must have changed the ruling ...scuppered my morning pre-work drop off routine that I've been using for the last 12 months.
  11. Karl, you know with Parcelforce you can do a drop off at you local post office at your convenience?
  12. .....and SOLD Up for grabs is a nice Red Precision body, excellent condition, string through, not sure of the manufacturer but seems pretty good quality, Uncertain of the wood type too but certainly not ply. Bought for a project but the neck pocket is too big for my Lakland 61.5mm neck, the eBay seller had it advertised at 62mm. This pocket is actually standard Fender size 63.7mm with my plastic callipers. Would make a nice body for your 'Pino' project! £50 posted or £42 collected from Plymouth, UK
  13. SOLD These are now surplus so are up for sale. An easy way of adding alternate tuning to your bass guitar. These are easily retrofitted with no drilling required. Normally the bass x-tender keys are tuned to switch between E and D but can do others i.e. C. BT2 - SOLD BT3 - suitable for pre-CBS Fenders equipped with reverse winding Kluson tuners, Jap Marcus Miller, Flea Bass etc £50 each including UK postage.
  14. Last bump before eBay (good album title perhaps? 😂)
  15. Yes, will PM
  16. That’s was lovely and it makes perfect sense to me 😉 I’ve been jamming with a band for the last year using my bass through a Line 6 HD500X and getting nice experimental sounds (noises). I too am often after ‘those’ typical dance sounds of 303’s or the D&B warble...not so much the dub step thing. Incidentally I recently saw Submotion Orchestra with Fatty Hargreaves on bass...his experimental deep bass analog sounds were absolutely amazing...FX master!
  17. Yay! A good news story. Stunning looking bass and bet it plays even better. Glad your happy mate
  18. I'd be interested in buying the TC clip on tuner if you do separate
