1. Got my 3 today...they're still in the car and can't be arsed to get them yet ....do they come with batteries ?
2. Some years back i replaced my pro4 for an Orange Terror bass...i did A/B them for a while and thought they were very similar.
3.
I'm in the hole for six quid! The stakeholders will be furious!
Ditto, i went for three...i could become bankrupt as a result
4.
I'd be interested in this if it is still available and also if we could work out a meet point between you and Devon ?
PM'd with hope

6. Shout (Lulu version), Proud Mary & Hey Jude
7.
I think that may depend on the type of music and the size of the venue. But it looks great to me, I remember enjoying the sweet tone these push out. GLWTS.
Yeah, you need headroom for reggae
8.
Really wow that sounds impressive
I was initially hesitant about the EQ options but was very surprised that you can get a lot of tone with just the VPF/VLE, from clean funk, warm soul, defined rock, and dubbing reggae...brilliant combo
9. Superb amps these, I've been using one with a 7 piece functions band without an extension cab for a while now and i still have to turn it down - i'm sure the wattage is an under estimate as they're really bloody loud, never fart out, and a great tone too. GLWTS
10. Bought a Musicman case from Nick. He was kind enough to agree to meet me at a service station on my travels...ironically to pick up a musicman bass without a case. Perfect! Thumbs up from me -thanks.
11. Did a recent bass trade with Mark, great comms all the way and no hassles. A credit to basschat and 100% trustworthy fella.

Sold a lovely 75 Rickenbacker to Kevin, no hassle and easy sale all round and although sad to see it go i feel it went to a good home. Totally 100% trustworthy and a credit to basschat - enjoy the Ricky (there's a strong chance that Jack Bruce did )
13. Richard assembled, set up, finished a neck, and made me an impeccable 70's jazz replica. Having just recently parted ways with my original 74 for financial reasons Richard stepped forward to complete the neck, assemble with RI parts, that recreated the 74's spirit in this build - I'm very happy! I wouldn't hesitate to use Richard again for his fine skills. He is top chap, great com's and a total gent - i am eternally grateful for your work and will treasure this personal bass
14. Did a deal with Norm on my vintage jazz and his Musicman. Great communications all the way and we eventually met up at a random KFC in the Midlands to finalise the deal. I'm glad the old Jazz went to a good player and home. Norm is a top guy and a total credit to the basschat community, 100% trustworthy!
15. Kindle version bought, looking forward to some beach reading today Good on you for doing this Dave.
16. I can certainly confirm Granjur has done a top job on this bass, and at a very affordable price too. Really looking forward to gigging it tonight. The Fender 74's pickups sound great, lovely slap tone. The neck is super smooth and feels wonderful and has kept the old spirit of the 74 I owned up until recently alive. Really looking forward to gigging some funk and soul on it later Thanks Richard, you're a true star and a credit to Basschat
17.
Peavey Foundation.
Funny you should mention these, collecting one later this week. Looking forward to trying it out.
18. Wow....the man from Del Monte says 'flipping eck! I'm lucky to be the owner', looks cracking and yes totally love a low action - have you plugged it in and played? Any thoughts on the sound & those 74's ? Great works, thank you
19. I never thought I'd end up in a weddings band being mostly into funk, reggae, live drum & bass & prog rock but I took it on doing the mundane set list ( although admittedly not as bad as the OP's ) and have added my own flavour here and there over the last 4 years. Lots of buffets, occasional decent meal, occasional Accomodation, mostly appreciative crowds, sexy bridesmaids, and a few pennies at the end of it all to fund the GAS....I also think my playing has improved as has my understanding of music theory...give it a whirl, you maybe surprised and if not your thing I'm sure there will be plenty of deps about where money is concerned
20. Not necassarily my top 5 favourite but the 5 that are inspirational to my playing I guess: Roly Wynn (RIP) - Ozric Tentacles Mike Howlett - Gong Aston 'Familyman' Barrett - The Wailers Bootsy Collins Flea 5 favourite Jaco Miller Wooten Johnson Graham
21.
Top 5 inspirational to progress, rather than start playing would be Flea Aston Barrett Robert DeLeo Sly Dunbar Billy Talbot
I assume you mean Robbie Shakespeare as Sly was the drummer...unless of course he did some bass work somewhere?
22. Thanks for the great advice and tips guys. I've found someone who is kindly going to do the work for me - B/C is such a wonderful place
23. Since sadly having to part ways with my real 74 jazz I've decided to do a replica build (ish) of it. I have a body and electrics, not exactly a replica of the old body but an aged decent body i've had for a while from MJT. I want to recreate something similar with a neck I have as my old 74. I have all the parts - managed to get a decent B-stock All Parts Japan maple neck with blocks and some 70's replica tuners, and also a period correct decal. The new neck is totally unfinished and i need to know where to start; i have some Manchester guitars tint spray and that's about it. My previous 74 neck had, i presume, a varnish finish too..is there a recommendation for a suitable finishing varnish, or lacquer ?, available from B&Q that would go over the tint? And how is best to apply? I may try and 'dirt' the neck up a little to in order to make it look a little aged...again any advice on dirt . Also any advice on how to age chrome parts a little - mainly the tuners? Sorry for the lots of Q's but i'm clueless at this sort of thing, mostly a pen pusher by day .....if anyone knows where i can send all the parts and get them to do it then great ....or alternatively with a little help here i could give it a go myself . I did Google instructions but couldn't find any definitive guides, especially for a 70's maple neck - although admittedly it was a quick Google having been snowed under with work of late. As always any advice or guidance is vastly appreciated (I can offer psychiatric/social work advice in return...but no crisis please - i have enough of that in the day job! ) For reference this was my original 74 neck:
