Yes brilliant b-line. I love Flea's melodic basslines like this one; really enjoyed learning to play it some years back.

Very pleased to have scored '0', and plenty of wedding bookings/functions this and next year booked...although admittedly we're soul/swing/rock & roll
Oh, it had to black, didn't it? Is that one of the black limited editions or a standard one with a black scratchplate? One of a very few basses I'd consider selling my Shuker for-although I've yet to play one.
There's some very interesting stories attached to this bass but one is that it had a different style scratch plate at some point, hence the screw holes. The black one appears to be via Rickenbacker themselves but was not a standard pickguard at the time.

Yes its a Rick, marmite to most but i am a convert...and i love it
It plays and sounds wonderful.... and i love it
Whilst largely expecting clanky mids in tone it actually has a sweet defined warm tone too...and i love it
Two years ago i wasn't that interested in Ricks until i tried one at Mansons about 18 months ago...i actually loved it, it was a 74...mine is a 75...and i love it
The action, intonation and payability is wonderful...guess what...i love that too
The bank balance is re-balanced having sold gear quickly on here over the last few days...basschat...i love it
Tesco's own boxed wine on a Friday eve...i love it
Love is strong word...but with barely putting this beaut down other than sleepy time, and daytime work in the last 72hours....i love it...there we go...simple NBD...lots of love & wine! Yay Flea, bring back the slap....c'mon lets be honest - he's been influential to a lot of people here. Get slapping again..slap is great! Although I can't slap for sh*t 🎶

Marc is a real gent and a real credit to Basschat. Great communications throughout and now a good bassfriend. Bought a lovely bass neck from him and did a seamless trade too. Buyers and sellers will have no issues here. Right...back to the Rick'

I dearly miss a 79 Stingray that I got on here, it didn't have the original electrics but sounded sweet with a lovely neck. Also my first Lakland JO5 with Fralins...I've had two other JO's since and both didn't cut it. Also an Ibanez Musician I sold some months back, the bass was like lead aground my neck - heavy beast, but the tone was funky sweet....should have ate more spinach! Also miss my first Limelight P with jazz width neck...t'was the bass to rekindle some precision love
Slightly (alot) off topic but how do you find the multiamp? Especially curious about the SVT, GK 700RB and Bassman models? Have a question bump
Haven't really had a good chance to go through it properly but what i have heard is pretty amazing...the effects have made half my pedal board redundant too. Very impressive bit of kit.

SOLD I was hoping not to part with this gem of a jazz so soon after the recent purchase on here, however, a large purchase (for me) of a 1975 Rick last night meant that i had to swear the holy oath with her indoors that i would eventually sell a bass to recoup some monies....through thoughtful elimination it's sadly this one to go. Hope Martyn doesn't mind but here is the original post with detailed info and of course many great pics: http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 Pic as original set up. And with the 60's style pots: Now then, I'll let her go for a bargainous £650 posted as standard, in other words how i got it. But i do have some rather yummy Lindy Fralin picks ups and also a 60's style concentric controls & plate (CTS) - it's a quality one from the USA, cloth wiring blah blah. Currently It has the Fralins and the concentric controls on it. Frankly it sounds pretty damn good like a super jazz to me. The original pick ups and controls were very good - more mid range 'honk', however, the Fralins are warmer/vintage i guess....it's clearly a sexy playing and sounding bass but alas I had decided one of my two jazzes has to go and my 1974 ain't going anywhere as that's my pension bass...even if this one, quality wise, knocks the pants off my 74. So with the Fralins add an extra £70 and with the concentric pots add £40...or the lot for £750...that's a lot of bass for money Also has a generic hard case or can do a relatively new Hiscox light case for an extra £40. Only trade i would be interested in is a Markbass NY121 8ohm or Markbass 2x10 8ohm, plus cash top up my way. Will knock £10 off if collected from Plymouth, Devon. Overseas buyers would need to cover shipping costs and insurance if desired.

SOLD Hi all, I've had this amp a good while and it's done many a gig, however recently I've been using my Orange Terror bass and now have also scored a Markbass multiamp via a trade on here....so the LMT is surplus as the Multiamp appears to cover everything i coul;d ever need...hopefully ever again . So why so cheap, the amp works fine 99.9% of the time but every now and then there is a hiss noise which rectifies itself after about 10-20 seconds. Weirdly it doesn't happen so much when playing and i have still gigged it without issue, in fact I last gigged it two weeks ago with no fault at all. Often it will go weeks/months without any issue which is really odd. I had sent it to a well respected local repair guy (report can be included). He soldered some loose track joints, made off better ground connections etc and checked the tube which is fine and the amp inside out. It was signed off from him and fine again until a while later where it made the hiss again but only very briefly this time. I also jammed it yesterday without fault for about 2hours. So I'm saying all this to be honest and up front but otherwise this amp is superb and it will serve the new owner fine. On the positive salesman bit it has awesome tone, super loud at 800W 4 ohms, 500W at 8ohms and only selling as 1) i now have the multi amp and 2) I've rather impulsively (ish) bought a 70's Rick last night...so now need to keep her indoors happy and recoup some monies...expect a few other bits going up for sale over the next few days £250 collect from Plymouth or postage/courier extra £10 in the UK. Yes TB is a cultural mismatch at times, and the locals share their lands with that political genius Donald Trump......ahem! (That was sarcasm for our U.S. readers btw) Although joking aside I occasionally frequent the forum...

My 1974 Jazz.....I buy & sell a lot....but not this one
-
I've had both. Preferred the Lakland for feel and the quality of the build etc but the Sire has much more tonal variation, and cheaper too. That said I found the Yamaha TRB2 that I've recently sold to be the best all round 5 string, awesome tone, great low B and the build oozes quality.

SOLD - up for sale is my trusty 151 15" Markbass cab. Bought about 18 months ago from Andertons. Italian made, 8-0hms & 400W. A simply brilliant 15" cab with loudness and clarity, one hand carry and oodles of lovely tone. I've been using the Orange Terror bass and this cab in my soul/swing functions band and i love the sweet tone from this combination. I just hope the 2x NY121's i have coming in can make as good a sound too. So too many cabs at present and its time for this one to go to a good home. The speaker is in excellent condition. Specs: http://www.markbass.it/product_detail.php?id=127 £275 collected from South West Devon or will courier at cost to buyer. Stock pic for now:
