1. As the title says, not looking to sell. PM me if your interested - thanks
2.
Why would anyone take LSD in the 90s. LSD was one of our 60s things. Blue
Haha, I wasn't alive in the 60's but I'm lead to believe the 90's batch wasn't quite the same (please note I was not a 90's rave type, rather I was in the Acid Jazz vibe)..... even then the elderly people regularly proclaimed it was all about the 60's. That said I think I only tried the drug twice (....or was that as per Cheech & Chong, 'Twentytwice' ) Anyhow not to derail the thread but our weddings band guitard has recreationaly experimented over the last year, it hasn't improved his playing despite supplying him with many a Funkadelic album & Mahavishnu Orchestra etc - it must therefore mean that todays quality is even worse still, albeit some legal high derivative probably. So there you go don't do drugs in the modern day kids, they're bad....they're not proper anymore and don't induce star shaped sunglasses....and nowadays working within psychiatric settings I've seen it first hand
3. In my wedding band our two Ska numbers seem to be magnets for people no one had noticed all night...especially the air saxers on One Step Beyond - where do these people live? ...and worst of all do they breed?
4. I've had the classic bridezilla throw up all over the dance floor...that was entertaining. Also I'm always amazed how our drummer always manages to be first in the queue for food...even when it hasn't been offered to the band. And as for good gigs/ bad gigs...like my LSD experiences in the 1990's, in 4yrs on this I've never had a bad one
5. Looking for anything trade wise, studio or bass ?
6. I've been doing it for 4 years in the Southwest UK and totally love it, great vibes, big dancing crowds and the money has enabled me to drop my day job to 4 days a week. Downsides, late nights followed by children jumping on me early the next morning... but when I flash the cash my wife is sympathetic
7. Sorted...Yamaha Metronome app accepts Midi both in & out. Apple camera kit on the iPad into one of those cheap silver midi to USB cables off evilbay...jobs a good one
8. Looking to hook our midi clock up to either an iphone or iPad - got an old Line 6 Midi Mobilizer mk1 on an old iphone 4S but currently awaiting an irig to connect to a newer iPad...ideally wanting an app to act as a click track for our drummer that is synced from a synth BPM midi clock...any suggestions lovely people ?
9. Another vote for TC here, brilliant tuner 😎
10. TRADE PENDING
11. GONE EBS Valvedrive, great for warming up your sound or adding some really nice tube distortion. I've never been a fan of distortion on bass personally but I confess I reallyquite like this, it's very defined and certainly 'valvey'. This is not the newer DI version but i've used this for recording into a DI box and got a lovely sound none the less. Selling mainly as I don't think i'm going to use it that often to be honest - although i may change my mind. Ideally looking for trades but would possibly consider a sale: One of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L-GcWEC8f8 https://www.youtube....atch?v=c0-eAGzh Trades: Ideally - My Valvedrive & my Line 6 M5 for your Line 6 M9 ? or Valvedrive for a Markbass synth pedal (or may consider other synths type pedals... cash either way) 3 Leaf Envelope filter deluxe or...anything that creates dub step/drum & bass vibes ...i'm new to this vibe but have a new drum & bass band starting up Decent size pedal board like a pedal train pro. Mixing desk with at least 10 in's and ideally Direct outs for recording. Boss OC2 and funds my way Markbass 2x10 cab 8ohm (can add cash) Tech 21 Mini Moose (multiple Midi pedal)
12.
I saw Breakbeat Era live, was probably year 2000 and not heard of them since! Might be worth getting an SFX Thumpinator to filter out the subsonic rumble going to your rig, especially if you have some resonant low pass filters going on!
Yes I saw them around then at the Scala in London, was a great gig. Good idea on the SFX but I'm struggling to find anywhere that sells them....I'll keep googling- thanks again
13.
Ẁell the clasic (if there can be such a thing) synth sound from bass guitar is octave/synth pedal > fuzz > filter. use an expression/hothand to control the filter for sweeps. Alot of the fun in effects is in playing about with settings/order. Id use the example i gave above and work around from that.
Brilliant thanks for that. I guess the synth & fuzz I can do on the B3 and have the Moog at the end of the chain, perhaps with eq after. I wonder is there any benefit to have my compressor at the start of the chain for a clean signal in? although I wouldn't use it all the time I guess. Also thinking of putting the eq at the end to control the overall mix. Also wondering if a crossover of some description is called for to send the subby sounds to FOH and not trash my speakers.
14. New project underway and need FX. So incoming I have a Moog Low pass (MF101) & exp pedal, source audio manta and hot hand, Line 6 M5 & source audio orbital. Already have a Zoom B3, Boss LS2, Chord Octave (bit like the OC2), Joyo Dyna compressor, GLX bass eq, JamMan Stereo (mainly for samples), Jim Dunlop bass wah, Zoom B2, Behringer reverb & lovely EBS Valvedrive....oh and 2 more expression pedals. Certainly more than enough FX to get me going I'm sure for an electronica adventure (aka Nerve, Submotion Orchestra etc). So, of the above fx what would you use, and what chain sequence? I've already got some tasty synth and sub sounds in the B3 to get me going. I have also had fun researching John Davies (Nerve) and Fatty Hargreaves (Submotion) who appear to be pioneers in this stuff but I'd welcome suggestions of other players, and/or band recommendations to checkout... Big fan of live D&B like Breakbeat Era....what happened to them ? Thanks in advance.

19. I've got it and really enjoyed it. I ended up getting Joni Mitchell's live DVD with Jaco on the back of seeing the footage on the Jaco DVD. Both excellent; in fact I really enjoyed Jaco's playing with Joni Mitchell a lot..very tasteful and inspirational
