TRADE PENDING Got this bass in a recent trade and it is spotless, still had the £500 price tag on it. Have gigged it and it is a sweet nice player, was going to keep it but got other equipment debts to pay off so somethings got to go to balance the books. Quality is top notch, the action is low, neck is joyous and it looks funky £250 get you this bass posted: Have used a stock pic for now as it's basically the same and new: Web info: Chris May, whose Overwater Custom Bass Guitar Brand has just celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, has teamed up with Tanglewood Guitars to create the Aspiration series range of Bass Guitars designed and overseen by the man himself. Overwater Basses are among the most revered in the world and are played by Professionals the world over in all walks of music, and Chris has been keen to bring them into a more accessible price range for some time. So what are they like? Chris has obviously looked at the other famous high end Bass builders that he shares the arena with, and looked at their approach to an affordable production instrument, think Sadowsky Metro, Ken Smith K.S.D, Lakland Skyline. When put in comparison, the Overwaters don`t disappoint! Build quality is very high, great wood choices, with bespoke hardware and pickups, and no cheap universal pattern parts used at all. Specifications • Machine Head: Deluxe J Style • Neck: One Piece Maple Satin Finish • Fretboard: Maple, 22 Fret, Pearl Blocks • Body: Light Weight Poplar, Transparent Blue • Backplate: Black • Bridge: Overwater • Electronics: Active 2 Band, Overwater 'Soapbars' • Controls: Vol (Pull Bright), Pan, 2 Band EQ • Strings: Overwater Light Gauge
Mark, my Squier CV P neck is sitting in a cupboard at the moment. You are welcome to borrow the neck for a bit if you can find a body for it.
You could buy my jazz fretless at £140, sell the neck...use the nice body, body has fender pick ups in too....what's not to like

MARKBASS... LITTLE MARK III 500? TRAVELER 102P? STANDARD 104HR?
Raslee replied to Greg.Bassman's topic in Amps and Cabs
I'm finding Markbass very versatile for my needs; I use a very awesome Markbass NY604 (4x6") with a seven piece soul funk swing band and defying all logic it cuts through great using my Markbass LMT 800 head and a Precision bass. I also play with a loud 8 piece ska jazz reggae using 2 x NY15" cabs, again both light, more bottom end than Beyoncé and they look fab too...often 1x15" is more than enough but if it's a good festival then the two will go out. I struggled to find a good sound I was happy with when I had an LM2 but the LMT800 is more than fine to my ears....highly recommend 😎 -
It might be just me but your pictures aren't showing up. Also, you dropped the price in your post, but not in the title. But if I were you I'd get the pictures issue sorted out before dropping the price. Fretless basses don't sell fast anyway. Glwts
Cheers guys, sorted

A recent build to have a scratch at that fretless itch again...... but it still ain't for me and now it's collecting dust. Great build, alder body with a few age related dings but nothing terrible. Lovely lined neck, smooth, decal already fitted to the neck before i bought it, Fender marcus Miller picks ups, passive...sounds and plays like it should...a steal at £140. Can supply scratch plate if preferred Courier extra £10 or collect from SouthWest Devon

Sold my Genz Contour combo & ext cab locally yesterday, great combo that i will miss but too bulky & heavy for me to lug around and it certainly became an overkill as the mancave amp. Anyhow with the proceeds i thought I'd best get a cheap back up amp, what with the regular wedding gigs etc, budget was around £200 ish. Nothing really grabbed my immediate attention in the For Sale section here, but then i remembered Andertons were selling some B-stock/secondhand PF500's a few weeks back for around £200...thought i'd probably missed the boat on that one but had a quick look and they only had a used PF800 for £250...always had a penchant for Ampeg and remembered the 'snooze & loose' theory. And the rest is history It'll be good to compare it with my Markbass LMT800...specially for NAD. £250...i can live with that...just hope it's reliable given the notorious PF history http://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-amp-heads/pid39689/cid685/used-ampeg-pf800-bass-head-0001.asp

Really chuffed how this 'Bitsa' has just turned out, lovely J width neck, wizard trad pick up, low action with no buzzes and the intonation is spot on....may even gig it the weekend. Just need to put some flats on now

I think some of Flea's earlier melodic playing like 'Soul to Squeeze' & 'Pretty little ditty' are a worthy mention

Working in a lot of psychology/therapy settings I am utilising learned theories to my challenges with GAS over the years. Rather than resist I am trying a harm reduction approach (harm to my wallet that is ) so I shall allow myself to buy & sell still but in between keep my gear for longer periods...thus reducing acting upon GAS. Reduction not abstinence However just bought an acoustic Fender Kingsman.....er! 😂

Daft question - Is sterling sub the same as music man sub?
Raslee replied to Dropzone's topic in General Discussion
Having owned 3-4 U.S. Stingrays, 2 U.S. Subs and a Sterling Ray34 I am now the proud owner of the Sterling Sub 4, have been for a while The preamp sucks and is hot in the latter but the playability, of mine at least (Thomann), is one of the best of played...I much prefer the Sub Ray 4 over the ugly, sticky, slab bodied US Sub. However the sound of the U.S. Sub is much better because of the better preamp and of course mostly similar to the more expensive USA Stingrays. So...I put a USA original music man pre amp & pick up in my Sterling Sub 4 and voilà a U.S. Music man Stingray Sound in a bass with the better playability and a lovely jazz width neck. Cost about the same as a U.S. Sub with preamp but I wouldn't change mine, not even for a Ray34 -
Lloyd Brevett. Was there anyone before him that had the ska sound? I would say a fair few in the list aren`t really Pioneers, just great bassists who took the sound and genre to a new level. Maybe i am wrong though
I was going to mention Lloyd Mike Howlett for Gong genre

Our first gig at a little local festival yesterday with our new traditional ska/reggae outfit "The Bluespots", the crowds seemed to dig it. Sporting the Sire V7 for its first gig too and it performed wonderfully...oodles of bass lows Obligatory dodgy phone footage from someone in the crowd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B1-icY3aZg&feature=youtu.be
