Sold Mark an Ibanez BTB555MP bass. Wonderful to deal with all round, i feel we are probably 'pea's in a pod' when it comes to GAS too, great friendly chap - highly recommend.
  3.
Sorry to hijack this a little... these are some of the first relics I've ever seen and really liked, absolutely amazing work! How much do they go for roughly new?
Variable, depending on your build requirements but generally from about £750 upwards, I think the cash price of my Precision 70's replica was £765 but I did a trade with Mark , i.e. A bass plus cash...he'll give a very respectable price in trading too
  4. Uninstall the add on then reinstall
  5.
All the bass I'll ever need.
Are those both Limelight's ?
  6. Nice one Devonian bro, looks sweet and glad your sorted at last. I've had one of those 4x10 HLF's...a better choice over the 8x10 IMO...they're great cabs, oodles of low end. Superb rig
  7. Happy LMT800 user here, gigged just and sounded superb through my new Markbass NY151 cab, Limelight P, tone half point, VLE on a little, rest flat...wonderful old school soul sounds with clarity...glad I've gone back to Markbass.
  8.
.....I wish I'd got into theory/reading much earlier!

Yup. Regrets...where's that theory book?
Yup! Same boat -The five phone lines outside my living room window help and a couple of decent apps on my iphone
  9. If your looking for a passive jazz then Lakland JO5 with Lindy Fralins every time! Or the DJ5, but the JO has a slightly bigger body and just feels perfect.
  10.
Mark clearly knows what he is doing and has lots of genuine vintage Fenders in his possession to refer to so Id recommend him to anyone wanting an excellent quality relic bass.
+1

  12.
RIP John Holt. Maybe not my favourite artist, but undeniably a serious force in the genre, and king of the Reggae cover version. We played the One Love festival this year, and stuck around to see his headline slot, where he collapsed onstage :-(
A legend and a sad loss, R.I.P. Mr Holt ..will always love this tune, as does my 4yr old daughter: http://www.youtube....h?v=9VcdhKYWKQY

  19. Cheers guys, maaaan i'm in love! Even bumped into a good friend, and fantastic bass player, today whom i will now be getting some DB lessons with...fate!
  20. Genz Benz Contour!!! (I could be persuaded to sell mine)
  21. My functions band, based in Plymouth have done well the last two years between Devon & Cornwall, gig most weekends..some weddings, functions, good pubs and some clubs in South Devon. Also usually do a few festi's with some friends who enjoy reggae music, some often weird but mostly wonderful little festivals...there's certainly lots of festivals. Definitely nothing cutting edge musically that I've came across though from these parts...but a great part of the country to innovate; i moved from Shropshire 12 years ago and have never regretted any of it
  22. Well, in my recent thread regarding feedback and newbies questions i ended up on the hunt for a magnetic pickup to tackle the feedback woes on my Gear for music DB. In my search I came across an add on Gumtree a week a go that i thought was to good to be true, a Schaller 411 mag pick up which i was after, a decent DB stand which i was also after, a soft case which i was sort of after...oh and it was only attached to Andreas Zeller Double bass..... all for £600 smackers! The bass had also been set up by a top professional North Devon Luther. So i contacted said seller, put deposit down, and collected today. Now the bass is 39" scale so just over 1/2 size but ideal for my little pinkies, it has D'addrio Helicores fitted....not sure if these are good or bad???The guy even chucked in a DB bass mute, bow and a book on scales/arpeggios etc - lovely chap. I've been trying to play it all afternoon but had kids and friends kids over..meh,.. so it never happened! So got it out about 2 hours ago and it's superb...just got to learn how to play now...tips appreciated Sooooo happy My 1/2 G4M DB will be up for sale very soon (good beginners bass!) Lovely Schaller, sounds very impressive actually...still a bit of woody tone there.
  23.
That will be totally the business!! You will love it. However... if you DO move it on, PM me first!!
Done
  24.
Wow, that's a true bargain right there, then! Good score for Raslee.
Cheers man, been after a light 2x15" for a while so it fits the bill and will be paired with Markbass tube 800
