1.
All being well it'll be with me on Tuesday, and I'll have photos up straightaway of course!
Well ?
 2. A reggae band that i regularly play with have discussed a new direction and we all like the idea of doing some arrangements around trad ska etc. Also the band members have got wind that i have a 1/2 size DB, albeit a cheap Gear4Music ply. I've had the DB 2-3 years now but barely played it outside of the living room, my playing is on 'L' plates at best - although I'm building up the confidence to take it to rehearsal. Anyhow I'm looking for easy, and simple, tunes to cover...any suggestions? As we're perhaps wanting a simple 'jazzy' edge too I've started on a few YouTube reggae/ska versions of 'Take 5', 'Watermelon Man', 'Cantaloupe Island' etc...obvious directions are Skatalites tunes which i will be looking at a few tunes by them and of course Ernest Ranglin...but any other suggestions massively welcome, equally if anyone has any sheet music of such tunes, or playing advice, then that would be fantastic. Thanks. This kind of vibe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOVTa7A3WUo
 3.
Wonder where he got it
Pretty sure its here:- http://www.thomann.de/gb/montreux_1447_real_celluloid_62.htm
 4.
Burgundy Mist 64 J Bass should be coming my way shortly...
Good stuff!
 5. As the title, got a lovely and top quality nitro Tort guard made by the bass doc to fit a Lakland Joe Osbourne 5 string £30 posted and a lightly mint/white one £15 posted. Pics available. Thanks
 6.
Not much point mentioning the wonderful Carvin BX700 then
I Did of course give it some consideration...but being a tart i fancy something different
 7. I dig em'...got the remixes too
 8.
Where did you get the nice tort ?
I bought B/cer Cayston's Montreux Celluloid tortoise shell pickguard on here, great bit of tort -I'm finally happy with the looks now
 9. Finally have my tort, revised pics up above Can't believe how much it looks like this real one up for sale at the mo (bargain i think at £1600) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/242922-fs-fender-p-71/ Played the Limelight twice again this weekend and it just gets better and better each time, totally loving it for my soul functions band, as do the band who still think its the real deal haha.
 10. Very good and useful, thank you
 11.
Looking at your amp list there's no need to tell you how good the GB gear is. I've got the Shuttle 9.2-the best amp I've ever played through. Tonyclaret is selling his 6 for a good price, check that out.
Yes I've seen the amps for sale. I have a Genz combo to which I've recently discovered that the head is removable. I read somewhere that the Genz Contour is basically a Shuttle minus the tube, therefore i'm probably thinking something different. I have owned the Streamliner and it was a great amp but just not for me at the time.
Where are you in Devon? I'm just outside Axminster and am expecting the delivery of an MiBass this week. £209 from Andertons, You'd be welcome to come and try it out if you are local.
That's very kind, sadly I'm a bit of a trek away near Plymouth. I did have an Ashdown mi550 briefly, very flexible amp but i struggled to find a sound i liked (i am fickle). Perhaps the V2 models are an improvement? I think i'm between GK Fusion 500, Eden WTX 500 or the Aguilar 500 at the moment...though that could change tomorrow
 12. SOLD. My friend is wanting to sell this: £25 ono or trade for guitar FX etc. Based in Plymouth Devon, happy for buyer to arrange own courier. 13.
Can I ask where the acid came from ?
The acid came from Walter White in a penguin shaped spaceship maaaan ...actually nothing that exciting, i had a dead car battery and just tipped it up into a bucket and left the ashtray in there. i washed it when finished. I only endorse this method if your mindful of health & safety of course (do not put fingers in the battery acid!!!) - acid is nasty stuff (i ain't stopped twitching since the 90's )
 14.
Lurrrrrrrrrrvly Was it hard to find a bridge cover that was aged? Or did it come fitted Raslee?
I bought a shiny bridge cover myself, lightly sanded the shine and then left it in a plastic tub with some battery acid for a couple of days and voila.....it's pretty convincing...unlike the rhubarb/custard pickguard, need a better pickguard!!!! - will have to see if The Bass Doc is still in business.
 15. A bit late to the show but here's mine, a 1970's Precision replica. Now sporting a tort plate (originally had aged white), hipshot D tuner & Wizard trad. pick up which i preferred to the original Really liking this bass - 'considering it's a P - is remarkable...!' before Tort invasion: Dodgy Squire tort: Rhubarb & custard tort: Alas decent 60's tort:
 16. Welcome to the club, that's a lovely 'P' - your red was nearly mine but i opted for an aged white one instead. Mine has become my main gigging bass now, mostly for weight compared to my 74 jazz, but i find that the more I play the Limelight the more it feels like and old friend and I'm actually really enjoying the P' bass vibes in my soul/funk band. Enjoy the Limelight
 17. It's funny how GAS evolves...i 'think' i have narrowed it down to either the Aguilar 500, Eden WTX 500, or GK Fusion 500 which a purchase would have be early Oct when i have a bit more money to buy new...unless one comes up for sale S/H beforehand of course.. However i have fleeting moments of the Genz shuttles on here too as i have mostly Genz cabs, hmmm! (ponders)....however i think hanging out for the Aggie is in the lead with my research so far . I was going to go the S/H SWR micro for sale on here but the seller has not returned any of my PM's despite having viewed them .
 18.
Karl, you're not buying gear on the strength of its appearance rather than performance... are you??
Haha, off topic but i did exactly this a the start of the year. A promise of a summer tour of the festivals would need a good image so i opted for the Ampeg fridge...well, before the summer even began the singer (the main dude we were backing) moves to Jamaica cancelling all but one festival - bummer!!!...The Ampeg looked good though - now sold
 19. Hi Martyn, If the guy who's selling the SWR micro on here who i've now pm'd twice doesn't get back to me, and you decide to sell the F1 separately then do let me know. Lee
 20. Perfect, PM on the way
