2. Schatten RB1 is a great pickup, very loud, very feedback resistant, easy fit, not that expensive and i dont need to use a pre amp with it. straight into a Mark Bass and Bergantino, i went through every pickup out there, the only other one that came close was the TM from the states, Underwood was good too tho
3. Bugga!!!

5. apparently the handles on a Wills bag are NOT to be trusted
6. i use a Lambert deluxe D&G with bumped Spiro A&E, the tension is very even with that combo and the tone is very even too

9. i'm hearing £3k for a 7 piece 70's good soul disco band in the south east this is your average wedding apparently anyone interested in forming a 70s soul/disco wedding function band in the south east area only joking but gonna give it some consideration maybe
10. what's the average money for wedding/function gigs? is there a north south rate? does it depend on how many are in the band? 1 or 2 sets? all that stuff
11. ahh come on folks over 2K visits and no takers, this THE BEST EUB you will ever play, well possibly
12. Fender aint the only ones cashing in... http://www.peachguitars.com/guitars/electr...ute-duo-jet.htm WTF!!!

14. just came across this... Dep upright and electric bass player needed for gigging NE band. We are in need of a dep player for a number of gigs this year due to our bass player moving abroad. Must be able to play 'slap' style upright as well as standard upright and other electric styles. We play music like Imelda May, Rev Horton Heat, Legendary Shack Shakers as well as Fab Thunderbirds, SRV and Toots & The Maytals. Regular gigs (two to three a week) around Tyneside, Northumberland, Wearside, Cleveland. Must have own gear and transport. Contact [email protected] (July 2011)
15.
I can imagine that sounds pretty punchy John ... just don't slap it eh?
sure does, Lamberts get better and better the more you play em hey. i found it was hardly playing anything on the E string with Silver Slaps/Prestos because it just didn't cut through. then again i aint a slapper roots and rockabilly are different strokes AFAIC
16.
Me neither..! I've missed out on a couple of gigs recently 'cos I don't play DB, so... needs must.
it's all transient WOT , this time next year they'll sack ya cos your Fenderless, get a Stagg till it all passes
17.
Do you find that gives a decently solid E? I'm finding the normally tuned Spiro Weich E a bit weedy.
yes!!! that's what i like about the bumped Spiro A, silver slap/presto E is just too 'dull' just try it, very easy, tune your ADG down
18. they loose that top bumped, try it.. tune your A down to E
19. bump the Spiros down, i bump Spiro A&D down to E&A and use D&G Lamberts, great low tension and the E is not too heavy, havn't had a blister in yonks
20. in my defence i only moved here a year ago and i knew Steve before that, so wherebouts is Martyn in Sible?
21.
Very kind - I'll give you a shout if I fancy that. Thanks! Do you use Martyn Bailey as your luthier? He's in Sible Hedingham and is fantastic.
dont know of Martyn Bailey? i use Steve Laws... http://www.oakdenemusicservices.co.uk/Oakd...es/Welcome.html he's in Sible too
