1. The B3n definitely does this. That's how I use mine, I have three patches that I can jump between, and switch different effects in and out within the patches. Really easy to do This new boss pedal looks really tempting though, could create the perfect mix of multi effects and single stomps.
2. I bought it from GAK. Never had any problems with them but then again I've never had to contact their customer service before. And in fairness, they're response is quick, just a bit disappointed with the solution they've offered. Box the head up and send it off to have the pot sorted, and possibly (the front plate breaking isn't covered by the warrenty) have the front plate replaced while it's there. Going to contact them directly and see what sort of response I get. The front plate seems really flimsy at the edges, it's attached by a couple of screws going through the middle of it. Not a great design imo. Guessing this is due to it being a newer version compared to the older Italian stuff.
3. I might have to, got a reply from the retailer telling me that 'due to the age of the item' I can't return or exchange it. This is nonsense right ?
4. Thanks, I'll see what reply I get from the retailer today and look into contacting the distributer then. I know it's not a difficult fix, change the front plate and if needs be spray the pot, but surely brand new doing this myself would void the warranty in some way? It's been in the mark bass soft case that they make for the little mark heads, it's quite a snug fit but if this is the problem then that's a design flaw surely? I've used it once/twice a week in the studio for rehearsal, and it been out for 5 gigs.
5. Yep it's brand new. There's been a few emails sent but I'm not getting the response I want. Might have to drive down there and sort it out face to face.
6. Was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with the little mark heads and the plastic front plates cracking and bits breaking off ? I bought a little mark tube last October, along with the mark bass case for it to live in. It's had light use, (don't use an amp on 80% of my gigs) yet I have an increasingly scratchy gain and volume pot, and the corners of the front plate are breaking off. Contacted the shop I bought it from (new) and have been told it's not covered by the warranty, and that I might be able to get a new front plate sent to me and to spray the pot with contact cleaner. Am I being silly or is this a bit naff ? I shouldn't have to spray it this soon, and change the plate myself? I would have thought I'd be able to return the amp...at least exchange it. Any one else had a similar experience?
7. My Zoom B3 is finally breaking down on me, done well for 5+ years ! Ordered the B3n today, not overly keen on the look of the footswitches Vs the B3 but will see how i get on with it.
8. Selling these as I don't have a bass to put them in anymore. Great for a nice punchy sound from a Jazz bass. Loads of wire left, in great condition with screws. Price includes UK postage. Thanks.
9. First go of in ears at practice last night... Awesome ! Kit wasn't mic'd but had kick as that's triggered for us anyway. Still a bit of learning/adjusting to do with the QU24 but so far so good. Enjoying the UE900s as well, not that I have anything to compare them to but the sound was nice and clear. Only thing I would like to improve is the fit; the smallest foam buds are too big for me and the smallest silicone are slightly too small, so stood up and moving a bit there's a little bit of leak. So far so good though, can't wait to gig it. It's not been cheap but I was planning on getting a new cab(s), this seems to make more sense given the gigs we do.
You can throw a 2.4/5 Ghz router for your desk into that mix too! If you are looking at running a lot of wireless, you are safer going for channel 38 for your EW300s. As a ballpark figure, in channel 70, if you are running the same kit (e.g. identical wireless mics) you can typically get 4 devices in that part of the spectrum. If you are looking at channel 38, you are looking at anywhere between 8 and 12. All this assumes that you have fairly clean rf around you. (You can run equipment in both channels, they aren't exclusive) If you haven't, expect this figure to drop further. Of course this can vary from venue to venue... especially wedding venues where the venue may have their own wireless mics running. As for your digital devices that are running in the 2.4ghz/5ghz range... you can add a router into the mix as you are likely wanting one of those to be doing you IEM mixes from your iphones/ipads etc. In typical situations, these devices will all find their way nicely without running into intermod issues with the devices in channel 38/70... you are likely to have more issues if you play in a conference centre/hotel with loads of wifi access points - but as long as you are prepared to drop down to wired, you are safe against that. Don't be put off though - it's possible - this is what I am running - 4x Sennheiser EW500 Mic 1x Sennheiser EW300 Mic 1x Shure ULXD Mic 4x Sennheiser EW300 IEM 2x Shure PSM900 IEM 1xAirport Extreme 1xSony DWZB30GB 1xLine6 G90 15 in total all running within the law - So 12 crammed between 38 and 70 - I have one unit in the 823-832 range (which is covered by the channel 38 license). Getting all those to work is a right pain in the arse... but I can just about do it reliably, with no drop outs. I have another EW300 mic... I can not get that into the fold reliably at the moment... I start getting drop outs or interference. The other thing I will mention, only because you've mentioned it - the latency on the smooth hound is really high and not great for use in inears environments where there is a lot of digital kit around. You are running 8ms latency from the smooth hound alone, then another 1ms through the desk (A&H are actually one of the lowest latency desks out there in this area of the market)... in addition to any latency from any digital pedals that you may be running. The latency is certainly getting into the noticeable range if you are on inears, especially if you vocals are going through a digital chain. A smooth hound through a Kemper would be disaster - the end to end latency figures would certainly be between 11ms and 15ms depending upon what you are doing with the Kemper - very noticeable. Ideally you want to be less than 10ms as a benchmark. Many people will notice 10ms latency in their playing. If the guitarist is currently using an analogue Sennheiser, the latency figures are negligible - way less than 1ms so won't be a problem... but could be if he was looking to move to certain digital wireless in the future. The G70 is pretty low and latency also - I think the end to end with D/A conversion is circa 3ms. Should point out, I'm expecting you to be running stuff in channel 70 and/or channel 38 with additional radio in 2.4/5Ghz as these are the radio frequencies you are free to use as you travel around the country. The reason that you see other people using a load more gear is that they will have co-ordinated licenses for a venue or an event... that you have to co-ordinate use of... completely impractical and expensive for what you are doing! I love my wireless... but it does add headaches sometimes...! Good luck... and just drop a line here if you have any queries. All my wireless inears are stereo - but I've got wired feeds going to some players too - like the percussionist and drummer who don't tend to move around so much.
10. Selling these ear canal phones as i don't need them. Brand new in with different ear bud sizes. Price includes UK postage.
11. Selling this as I've upgraded to a line 6 g70 system. This is a great little wireless, bought recently at the bass guitar show. Only used on one gig! Mint condition, has velcro on the underside of the transmitter as i had it stuck to my cab. Will include a female to female jack adaptor, this let's you stick the reciever in the loop of your guitar strap ( i did this and it worked great, i used a couple of velcro loops to make sure it stayed there, these are included). No set up required, plug it in and it works. Postage will be about £6 , or nothing if you want to collect from Leigh on sea, Essex. Thanks !
12. Ok then, to be honest i hadn't really thought about that side of it, possibly having too much wireless going on. We are a 5 peice, lead vocals / occasional guitar ( running wireless guitar, wireless mic, wireless in ears), guitar (wireless guitar atm, just purchased a kemper so wants to go wireless in ears as well), myself (wireless bass, also wanting wireless in ears), keyboard player who will also want wireless in ears as he handles some of the guitar duties as well, and drummer who has a wired set up at the moment. Not sure off the top of my head the details of everyone else, i know the guitarist is using quite an old sennheiser system. I'm using the smoothhound classic at the moment and the other guitar system is a line 6 g70.
13. Hoping this is the best place to ask... My main band (weddings, functions, big parties etc) are thinking about going with in ears and no Amps. Lead vocalist already uses in ears (shure psm300 & 215's), and the drummer has in ears with his click tracks and bits already. The rest of us are looking at the EW300 G3, and after reading through this thread I'm looking at the UE900s for the ear buds. Desk wise, we'll be upgrading to the A&H Qu24 so we should be good to go right? I think we've got it right, just curious to get a more experienced users opinion . Thanks !
14. Bump... £250 ono
15. Bump ... Open to offers.
16. Photos added bump
17. Bought this a few weeks ago as I needed a jazz bass for something. No longer needed, great bass for the money, easy to get a great setup on it with the babicz bridge, nice flat fretboard too. I put Seymour Duncan quarter pounders in it but have since swapped back to the original pickups. To be honest they sound better ! Comes with a gig bag, polishing cloth, Allen keys and a chrome pickup cover. Collection only from SS9, or possibly meet half way somewhere. Bass is also at Leigh Music Co, Leigh on sea if you'd like to see it/try it out anytime. 18. Bump for CS3
19. Very true, I'm tempted to get one anyway for guitar stuff. Even going to line 6 route and adding a couple of Bass amps / effects to this one would be great.
20. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/news/article.asp?id=133859 This looks like the upgrade all B3 owners would like...maybe a B3n will happen? Fingers crossed!
21. Ah this is a shame. I used an LH500 and two hydrive 12's, I was hoping this would be the ideal upgrade but I think I'm gonna stick with the LH after reading a few reviews like yours. Go for one of the LH heads, you won't regret it.
22. Really interested in one of these, my LH500 packed up (it was second hand and never quite right) and this seemed like the logical replacement. Hopefully I can get to try one next week, I think GAK have them in stock.
