I really like the look of the PRS and would love to give one a try. G&L do the Tribute JB4 which is Active/Passive switched i believe and maybe worth a look at too. I have recently picked up a fender-alike Jazz Bass made by a company called Fame in Gdansk (may be the Mayones factory?) and the quality of that is very very good. Nice one on your return. I took many years off from playing too but i am enjoying being back. 👍

When i bought my Mexi Precision i tried out allsorts of Ps USA, JPN, Squier Indonesian. I kept going back to the 2014 made artic white n maple that i ended up buying. I had the money if i needed to buy a US or even a cheapish vintage instrument but got the Mexi. They must have had a good day on the production line and i am very happy they did 👍👍

My understanding is: Some people like Jaco' music. Some people don't like Jaco' music. Some people get Jaco' music. Some people don't get Jaco' music. Some people understand why he played the notes he played. Some people don't understand why he played the notes he played. I find that i can see some value in each statement.

I have played bass on and off 30 years and only in the last couple broadened my musical tastes into jazz / fusion and the like. Jaco' music isn't my go to music in all honesty but i have started to understand it better and he definitely is all that imo.
