Such a shame. Apparently he'd been ill for some time but i don't know what with? Great underated drummer imho. Sad loss to the world of rock.

I've been to their store in Romford and they have always been very helpful and usually do a deal too.

Sounds to me like it can be set up and it doesn't appear to have a bowed neck. Somebody will be able to help.

Are there fret buzz problems? Is the playing action comfortable for you?

Surely a cabinet maker is an Artisan just as a Luthier is (there are many synergies between these craft skills) and can build to the customers requirements. 👍

I saw these storage units on FB and i just wondered if any BC'ers had had one of these built? If a cabinet maker moved into making such items would there be a market for them? Seems to me that they could solve many a bassists storage problems. Thoughts?

Wow what are you doing to the necks? Seems to me no matter what build quality you get that if you punish the neck that much the same will happen with any build quality.

Nice one. I have never owned a top of the range bass and i'd be lying if i said i wouldn't like too but i have a MIM Precision that i really love and a modded Squier PJ Jazz that i like also. I think i may go for something different as regards pup configuration but i cannot imagine me spending fortunes in the near future. I've even considered the Yamaha BB714BS which is the cheapy Yam Attitude just to try out the neck humbucker.

He may be playing that Duesenberg bass just on the bridge pickup. Is that bass a shortscale?

As a bit of a thrash metal fan i wrote Metallica off aeons ago. I have always been disappointed at their gigs as they imho were never the tightest band and could never reproduce the intricacies they record.....whereas with Anthrax, Slayer, Testament etc you got exactly what it said on the tin.

I have Entwistles in my Squier PJ Frank Bello Sig (no master tone).....i find they match well as a PJ set up and the P seems nice and deep. The tech knowhow to send you a recording eludes me somewhat but i'll try to record something later this evening. 6

Get the right bass teacher. One where you can both explore limitations and then surpass them.

Surely the soundman could take a holiday to the very same locations at the same time as the band.....and just volunteer to assist with FOH sound on the night 😉
