1. That looks superb.....I really want a non reverse T-Bird but i'm pretty sure my back and wallet may not take the strain.
2. I noticed they seem to have disappeared from the various websites.....it's a shame i think there is a good shortscale market for them.
3. Has anyone been tempted at all by the Fender Rascal shorty with the lipstick pickups?
4.
I recommend Scott's bass lessons. I've learned a lot from just his free videos. http://www.scottsbasslessons.com/
I tend to struggle a little with online learning and books as quite frankly i need someone there in front of me saying.....no you're playing that wrong! I feel i would benefit more from meeting up with local bassists to exchange ideas and practice routines and to just jam ideas but it's difficult to know who is local to you.
5. I tend to run through my set list songs daily if possible but lack any real structure to practice other things such as scales or chords.....personally i'm considering some lessons to give me a kickstart and some goal setting.
6. Robert Calvert, Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters.....just wonderfully creative and entertaining from a musician and poet lost far too early.
7. I love SG's.....and this is no exception!
8. Has the BB series pick ups....and looks exactly like a 1024 to me. Alhough i've just noticed the matching headstock so hmmmm....not sure now.
9. That is the epitome of cool!
10. I live in the East of London and although some of the old haunts are closed we are seeing new pubs getting into live music so it's fairly vibrant.
11.
London - Bass Gallery in Camden and Wunjos in Tott Court Rd for shopping Brick Lane to eat expensive cereal in a restaurant and drink tea with cats with the hipsters (or just grab a coffee and laugh at the weirdos/hipsters :-)
If you go to Brick Lane visit Beigel Bake for great salt beef beigels and lovely platzels :-)
12.
I like my FZ600nS2, it sounds great in the right hands
Agreed.....
13. I like it.....gives the bass provenance so i'd keep it
14. I really like my Epiphone Allen Woody bass.....it was cheap but seems made very well for the ££ and sounds pretty good.....perhaps i'm easily pleased.
15.
http://basschat.co.u...ri-27-feb-2015/ Due to a bizarre coincidence I may even be playing with two bands that night. Apologies to all, I didn't mean to make this an extension of the gigs forum! As you were, etc. etc. Thank you Madam Moderator... I hear your Pink Floyd tribute band carries all before it!!
I'll try to drop in....if two bands have the same bass player i'll know it's you lol
16.
I'm playing in Denmark Street in central London this month... ...and have thus failed to understand the whole point of the thread.
Where and when? ☺
17. I dropped into the Yamaha shop today in Wardour St Soho and tried out a BB1024 and a BB714 both of which were very nice and set up pretty decently. The guy in the shop even said he was due to change the strings on a couple of basses as they were a bit flat which was nice to hear. The shop is a veritable trove of Yam equipment and the staff were very helpful. They had 4, 5 and 6 string basses and signature models available to try and were knowledgeable about their products. on top of this they have virtually anything Yam make (music wise lol) in there. If you're in that neck of the woods well worth a look i'd say
18. I'd like to hear one with flats..
19.
I have one in Pelham blue, and I enjoy playing it very much. Chunkier neck than on a reverse Thunderbird, which suits me fine. Doesn't look like anything else, also a plus in my opinion
Would love to give one a try.....Macari's in London have two in their window but at around £1000 its a big buy that needs a good test drive and some thought.....but non reverse and Pelham Blue is a great colour.
20. T-Birds are just cool.....nice one! I really fancy a non reverse body, anyone tried one?
21. Save on travel and buy the new one, haggle the price down with the retailer, get a guarantee.....
22. SG's look cool whoever plays them.....FACT
23. Up the Irons.....that is all
24.
Blue Oyster Cult. For no other reason than my brother randomly bought me a best of CD for my birthday and I thought I had better give it a listen!
Is Godzilla on there....top BOC tune
25. Budgie - In the grip of the Tyrefitters hands Hawklords - Valium 10 I think those are suitably obscure to a few people.
