I bought this when it first came out and i love it.....another good album is Pungent Effulgent. I haven't seen them live for about 20 odd years but Roly was definitely playing last time i saw them.....i think at Mildenhall Bowl on the same bill as Hawkwind....WOW it was cosmic!!
I always think that beautiful melodic piano piece played by Nigel Tufnell in Spinal Tap would make a great name for a band.....
I believe it was "Lick my love pump"

Indded. Bet it comes in handy for something though 8-)

Yes i must research what it is used for.....

I spoke to Harvey Bainbridge recently and he doesn't play bass at all nowadays.....some of his Hawkwind basslines are excellent.

Usually get into East London when we go back. I like jam nights (as an audience member) so thanks for the info.

Cool.....glad to be of assistance 👍
Well i rehearsed tonight with the Yam 5'er and all went well.....it is now fully welcomed into my bass collection. Oh and it has a really great feel and sound to it.
So far i'd definitely recommend the Yamaha TRBX 305 👍

Jack DeJohnette would do a whole gig on just a music stand.....
Surely the audience would walk out.....that is just so amateurish using a music stand.
Doesn't state if you can use music stands or not
It's Jazz.....surely they're not needed as the notes can be played in any order
A fairly local pub / venue to me is starting up a monthly jazz jam night.
The pub is the Forest Tavern in Forest Gate, London E7 and it also runs regular monthly gigs too.
May be of interest to somebody.
My first rehearsal tomorrow with the 5....i'm getting the hang of it slowly but surely. Really like the Yamaha, it's the first Yam i've owned and i can see me looking at other basses in their range in the future.....
Yam Gas.....😨
I still maintain that it should state in the promotional material whether stands will be in use.....it just avoids that awkward moment where someone is having to decide....Should i stay or should i go now

Yep.
Which is why I didn't tie you to my herb drying rack for likening us all to Matthew Hopkins.

But go on.....admit it you do all wear Witchfinder General type hats
