1. It's times like this that we need John Peel to send a message from beyond the grave......
2. Oh no.....i just saw this thread.....is rock dead or isn't it?
3. Our band love playing pubs.....we may not be overly ambitious but we like the pub atmosphere and if we get a few bob in our bin we are quite happy. I suppose the difference is we are a hobby (mid life crisis) type band whilst some others are true working bands.
4. Hope it went well.
5. About once a fortnight, maybe twice before a gig depending if we have added any new songs to the set. Ideas and new material are discussed using WhatsApp. We only rehearse for 3 hours at a time as any more an we all start complaining about our many middle aged ailments 😂

8.
Always struck me as a wildly undated band, Bad Moon Rising always takes me back to bombing down to Rickmansworth in a Mk2 Zodiac to see my then girlfriend - great car when your only about 17 - Heres my favourite creedence track, whch nobody else ever seems to have heard of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuPtOtGF4TY
Great car now!
9. I could never be in a band with my wife.....the band split would be very acrimonious. Just saying but there is a point to my statement 😉
10. Everyone should have a pension fund
11. Great band(s) i also am partial to Gov't Mule with Allen Woody on bass.
12. Terrible shame RIP Glenn
13.
Cool. I grew up playing in various metal bands. Anything from WASP to Metallica, but then last year I was asked to join a MOD covers band playing The Jam, and The Who etc. Cant believe how much I am enjoying it and the bass lines are so much cooler to play! Always good to have a change. I used to play WASP' Widowmaker in a band from the dim distant past
14. A great video..... I'm not sure i can remember 100 basslines nowadays haha.....quite a talented young player.....which is annoying as all it reminds me of is my mediocrity on the bass lol.

bass synth

I have the Digitech Bass Synth Wah.....lots of decent sounds for 35 quid!
16. Well done, glad it went well (despite the weather).
17. I went to Wunjo today to get a chorus pedal. Had a good chat with the guys and i can see they are passionate about customer service. I can't fault the place really.....oh and btw they appear to have just taken delivery of some new instruments so definitely worth a look! Paul
18. All safe and sound is the most important thing.....make sure if you know any of their friends, family or associates that word gets around that they ripped you off though
19. I actually use a drumming exercise of paradiddles with my fingers (google it if you don't know what it is) which is basically Left Right Left Left then Right Left Right Right.....drumming my fingers on the side. It is an excellent coordination exercise and may help.
20. Seems to happen a lot with musicians. Set yourself a target date for your break and for the things you want to learn. Assess the situation at the target date. You'll either feel rested and ready to go back into the fray or you may want some more time. If your mind is set on a break clearly you feel you need it.
21.
Sounds like he created his own TT supply regardless of the mains incomer type which is cool if you know what you are doing but not so much if you dont.
Absolutely and if not careful you could introduce fault surface voltages into local equipment. With a proper supply cable with an adequate cross sectional area further earthing should not be required however equipotential bonding and supplemental bonding may be required for parallel path cpc's. Anyway that sounds far too much like work so i'll shut up now.
22. My favourite sounding most playable bass is made by a company many avoid.....there are names i wish it had on the headstock but it doesn't and you know what.....i still love the sound of it
23. Earthing arrangements really depend on the supply system.....i.e. TNS, TNC-S or TT Just saying
24.
I've ended up with just 3 basses: Tokai EB3 - medium scale Epiphone Viola - short scale Gretsch Junior Jet II - short scale All 2nd hand around the £150 mark. As stated elsewhere they are very comfortable to play & no dead spots. I'm happy & would encourage others to try out a shorty. I use flatwound on all & get the soft, warm tone I enjoy. I accept they wouldn't be to eveyone's taste but I also like marmite.
I have a Junior Jet ii and it is an excellent little bass imo.
