  1. Number of strings: 4 Number of frets: 20 Scale length: 34 Number of pickups: 1 Number of controls: 2
  2. It's been exactly 1 year since my last NBD 🙂

  3. They just sort of appeared in my vicinity. After the first few I made some good friends within the company and more started popping up wherever I was 😁 Next thing I knew I'd at least one of every model from 1978 to 2010. Wish Peavey had made stamps, be a damn sight easier to store 🤣
  4. OK, here is some of the Peaveys.
  5. For such a huge event I don't remember too much. I remember my pal telling we were going as The Who were playing. Mind being broke and selling some golf clubs my old man had in the shed for the ticket. Don't recall the trip down from Falkirk or how it took to get inside Wembley , I do remember we'd been inside 20 minutes and telling my pal to wait "Right here" as I joined a queue to buy smokes; never saw him again until the following week 🤣 I mind it was bloody hot and London prices shocked me, everything was £1.50 ; Can of beer back home was 20p. At some point I ventured off the pitch and found a bar selling draught, again £1.50. It was there I saw the full horror of Bono's ego and Queen steal the show. Never was a fan of the band but the way they controlled the crowd was a wonder to behold 😎 Queues leaving the stadium were a nightmare, queue into tube station was the same. Those queues meant I missed my train but luckily the Glasgow train was an hour late so got that instead. Train was mobbed, parked my arse on the floor in-between carriages for 8 hours; tapping smokes of boy scouts heading to the lavvy for a sly puff 😀
  6. Down a third from a few years back. Bottle crashed as I neared @cetera heights, there can be only 'One' and I couldn't handle the pressure 😀
  7. A thing of breathtaking beauty 😍 Congrats on a job very well done 👏
  8. Year started playing 1982. Number of basses: 50+ Music theory:1 Technique :1 Groove :2
  9. 51 Fenders had pretty wide nuts, they tended more towards 44mm - 45mm instead of the 42mm we find today. Congrats on a successful mod project 👍
  10. Could be that, being a Japanese company, they use Japanese Industry Standard screws ? At first glance a Jis screw looks just like a Philips. If it has a small dimple on the head or an 'X' then it's Jis. Be aware not all Jis screws have the marking so err on the side of caution and use a Jis screwdriver for product made or designed in Japan 👍
  11. There are a few versions of the Zodiac. The Zodiac EXP was the entry model. It has a 20 fret neck unlike the other models which have 21 frets and just the split coil pickup. Mine was the red one in the centre. It's a decent P-bass, not too heavy and has a slim jazz bass style neck. The next version of Zodiac was the BXP model. Those have the same slim neck but with 21 frets and a jazz single coil added to the bridge position. Very nice basses. The alder body keeps the weight down. Choice of pickups allow for use across many styles, it shines in a classic rock setting. Finally there was the Zodiac De Scorpio, signature model for the Megadeath player. Mine are pictured either side of the red EXP. One can be forgiven if thinking that Megadeath connection meant a bass designed for 'Thrash' but that is not the case here. Ellefson did not want a carbon copy of his own bass, instead he wanted his name on a bass anyone could use and something he would have wanted himself when starting out. He chose a standard BXP Zodiac and asked for a mirror PG as a nod to Phil Lynott, the addition of Seymour Duncan pickups was a Peavey marketing decision, something Ellefson thought unnecessary. I'm of the opinion the EXP is good to get started playing but the BXP will not only get you started but stand you in good stead for many years to come. I'm an unabashed fan of the Zodiac BXP 😎
  12. Wait until I get around to the other Peaveys 😃
  13. Went hunting for a bass this morning and it's high time I had a clear-out. Thought I'd start with the lower priced stuff first. No gigbags or hard cases for these, posting is an option and prices reflect that probable extra cost. For starters. Peavey Fury II. £100. Built in Korea around 1999. Slim jazz style neck, quite light with active 2 band EQ and an active humbucker. G4M LA Select Denim Burl. £80 (Sold Pending) Retail on these is about £130 or £140 but those come with a gig bag which I can't find 😞 It's in great shape as it's virtually unplayed. Peavey Grind BXP. £120. Built in Korea 2003/04. Bolt on neck, 34" scale length. Active EQ. RedSub Fanned Fret 5 string. £130. (Sold Pending) Bought this on Facebook, pretty sure the fella is a member here. I really like this bass, brilliant introduction into fanned frets and very easy on the eye. Shine Tele Bass. £80 (Sold Pending) Actually bought this just to steal the neck for a build. Changed my mind once I'd played it, no point in wasting a perfectly good bass when I'd access to other necks. Lastly, my 2 WishBass Lobes. £130 each. Wishnevsky is quite a divisive figure but I get his whole homespun yarn/ drinking 'shine from a jar/ hillbilly thinking behind his creations. Both are 30" scale length fretless 4 strings. Warning regarding this one. Bloodwood doesn't float in water so this tips the scales over 12lb. Not for the faint-hearted. Could do with a rub down and tung oil re-applied. By contrast this spalted maple version is remarkably light, maybe 6 or 7 lbs. (Interest Shown) Cheers Davie
  14. http://www.cc.rim.or.jp/~tune/tune/twx.trem/twx.trem.html That's the stock model but custom options are no problem.
  15. It's a Tune, just look at the logo on the peghead. Lad from Casiopea has been playing them for years, so long there's even a model named after the band he plays in. I've a vague memory he's actually a dentist in real life 😃
  16. Edited to avoid repeating others 👍
  17. If it's a business plan then its a poor one 😀 Still owning multiple Peavey basses I follow most threads concerning them. The 2017 reissue had a long running thread , just like the 2025 reissue had. There is one striking difference between them, a few folk bought 2017 models . 4 months down the line there has not been one 2025 Cirrus NBD here, TalkBass, Peavey's forum, Bassic.de or Only Bass. Won't be surprised when these get quietly dropped from the product list next year 👍
  18. Not really. Barts and EMG soapbars are smaller. When I replaced the pickups in mine the nearest thing was get rosewood covers and load them with Warman Jazzbars even then there was a fair gap.
  19. First announced in 2022. Peavey then showed some, IMO poorly finished, samples at NAMM 2023. Those disappeared for "QC" reasons and the company rolled out a "should be next month" excuse until Feb 2025 🤣 I'm thinking it's repeat of the 2017 Cirrus reissue with Peavey taking delivery of the first batch then hoping they get enough orders to warrant a 2nd production run. Doubt they'll reach that magic number as, just like 2017, none of their distributors are carrying the line. Yet again Peavey are trying to sell a non-US built product to the US market, one which costs nearly 3 times as much as an original used US version fetches.
  20. For Sale listing is not the place for this so I'll contact you via PM 👍
  21. You're confusing the G-Bass with the B-Quads. Neither the G-bass nor the G-V had carbon graphite necks, it's a slimmer maple core with a carbon wrap. My old pal Ronnie was still chief engineer for Peavey when the necks got shipped to Bell and Carlson for wrapping.
  22. You replied the next day.
  23. Facebook could slap the word "SCAM" in bright red bold typeface above the post, won't make a blind bit of difference; folk will still place orders then cry "victim". High time the general public started accepting responsibility for their actions .
  24. Chancers were around long before social media, right alongside those desperate to buy into their "too good to be true" claims.
  25. If you're thinking of buying new then best get your skates on; start of the month Steve was talking about shutting up shop 🙁 Should you be in sunny Scotland anytime give me a shout, be happy to let you loose on a Lobe 👍
