1. Like Maude it was The Meteors for me.
2. I've a wee Behringer Xenyx Q502USB. Channel 1 has XLR and 1/4" input Channels 2 -5 are all 1/4" input CD/Tape - stereo in/out RCA Headphone out Main mix goes to monitors USB goes to PC Thing's a doddle to use and was £30 2nd hand. £50 new but there's an 8 channel one goes for £65. 3. The fella didn't buy it hoping to sound like a Ric. He just wanted a cool looking white bass to wear slung low while banging out root notes. Sounded like me in my younger days so I was happy to help.
4. C'mon Mark What's 320 mile ? Don't say £40 worth of fuel :-)
5. £40 and nobody's bought it ? Great basses even with gnaw marks. Sounds brilliant with flats or tapes. Got my 2 set up like that. Have a bump for a bargain.
6. I'm pretty sure the Foundation is with bassmachine2112. He did a NBD on it
7. My Retrovibe RV4 goes to a new home today. Mixed feelings. It never sounded like a Ric and only a very drunk person would think it looked like one. Still don't think of it as a faker. Nice enough bass though
8. I'm no good at this. Took me 6 pages before I found one. Vigier Passion 2 ! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/294226-vigier-passion-2-ultra-light-weight-31-kg-sold/ Course it was sold.
9. Hard to find a room big enough for Clan Peavey let alone a settee Nearly every model Peavey released in 4 or 5 strings.
10. A Bass I had delivered from Japan had free delivery. Customs ticket only showed value and that's all I paid duty on.
11. I'll keep an eye on this thread but reckon it'll turn out fine. If you pay a decent sized sum to a fella making a decent profit everybody should be happy. It's when folks charge £100-£200 for a £10-£20 guitar problems arise. I'll wish you luck but don't think you'll need it.
12. 2017 looks like it's going to be fairly GAS free Not surprised 2016 was a helluva year for it The one omission in my Peavey collection should be filled by Feb. The 32 year hunt for the fretless Bass Maniac ended and I finally bought a DB. Not much left for 2017 though I've always fancied a Vigier so never say never.
13. The Cat's never had a job for as long as I've known him. It's down to me to get presents for both of us. This year it's a joint present. He gets loads of cheap pedals and I get a Diago Gigman pedalboard on sleep in.
14. I know this particular bass well and agree it's a great player. GLWTS
15. I know a fella over in the States who's did 5 string Peavey T40s. Used monorail saddles, ground to fit the T40 bridge
16. According to quite few threads in America, Fender's just redoing their website before NAMM so models disappear for days then reappear. Happens every year apparently.
17. Thanks for that darkandrew. Perfect explanation.
18.
What do you mean by active pickups / passive pots? do you mean the pickups are powered and the wiring is just like an ordinary passive circuit? That is just the same as if you replaced the pickups in any other passive bass, you get the advantage of the lower impedance and noise reduction. If that is factory fitted I assume they have a model without the active pickups.
That's exactly what I mean. Pickups are connected to 9V battery, passive Vol,Tone & Blend. This was the only version of the model. Manual tells you very little, just says clockwise for more treble/anticlockwise for more bass. I'm not complaining as I prefer it to the earlier Sarzo bass with it's 3 Band EQ and trimpots.
19. Can anyone shed light on active pickup/passive pots ? My recent Peavey RSB has them but I'm stumped for reason.
20. Very nice bass for small money. GLWS
21. Congratulations Deedee. Glad to hear you picked the right bass.
22. Scam pages got through uBlock So I checked the request log. Think this is the culprit. 23. My trouble is unrelated to photobucket. Basschat experience goes like this. Open homepage - all good Spot I've some notifications so click to see them - new page opens with bingo, money scam or microsoft virus scam. Go to read comments in status updates - see above. Click on the latest post in any of the sections - See above Happens at least once every time I BC. AdBlock is running,Windows Defender is up to date and finds nothing, Malaware finds nothing. Cookies and history were cleared. Tried using IE instead of Chrome but it still happens. You must have posted while I was typing Paul.I'll try uBlock. Cheers
24. Great album, not every tune was brilliant but enough were to make it great. Pinched my copy from Woolies.
25.
So in order to get the rhythm from tab you also have to be able to read the rhythmic component of standard notation anyway! Or figure it out from listening to the record, presumably....
Learn the patterns with Tab,get the groove from the record. Reckon that's the way most of us do it.
