1. Only ever seen them as International's Andy. Course Peavey do have form for this. The Form was a passive PJ, got dropped and came back as an active with VFL. Why the hell would they reuse the name ? It's more in keeping with Zephyrs or Korean Furys.
2. So obviously an International I can't think why they didn't list it as one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262313641565?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Decent price including the case.
3. Stoatin'! Yes indeed
4. Best policy going for a refund. Put TI's on the Super Ferrite fella last night,it's now Super Slinky too. I'm quite worn out by all racing about I felt compelled to do
5. They got one of the easiest returns policy going so just return it but now you had it have a think it you want it replaced or a refund. @discreet It certainly is the fabled Peavey Super Ferrite. I gave up hope of finding another for a spare Foundation body that's lying around here, also hid the nasty mess I'd made attempting to fit a toaster.Hammer and chisel is not the best way to rout out a pickup
6. Here's one of mine, shame about the screw holes.
7. Within an hour of unboxing mine I was ordering a set of Status tapes. Massive improvement to the bass IMO. The mate I gave the deko one to went for D'Addario chromes. Strings make all the difference I think.
8. Excellent choice Mr Discreet. You're obviously a man of outstanding taste !! OK I have to say that having bought multiples of these It's a strange thing those D'Addarios as if ever a bass performed better with flats or tapes the PB-50 is it. Happy NBD
9. It's the Peavey Sarzo with me. Lovely bass, feels great but I can't get used to the tone. Plenty of string changes before I give up though
10. That could be Martin Gordon. He was a Ric man. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Gordon
11. Wont be long before you find out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
12. Aye it was like that on arrival. There's a year or so between the two, maybe the other one will catch up I've seen some lovely bits of wood on HB's.
13. With photos getting posted, might as well put mine up On the left with the Peavey SF and right with the nylons.,it also has an aged look to the fretboard.
14. Aye it's strange alright,it's 1100 odd mile to Totana. The couriers have set rates up to certain size and weights. Two week back wee practise combo 4 Kg 30x20x30 going to England was £12.80,last week a head 70x40x35 & 23Kg was £12.80. I do remember getting a £60 quote for the Totana run. Those Prague prices were high,Fend3r sent me a T-40 from Sofia and it was only £30.
15. Congratulation and 10 out of 10 for the frugal shopping. I've had the JB-75 for coming on 2 year,if I was going fretless that fella's the one I'd choose.
16. All depends on the country @BassBunny. Looked at sending a wee box 20 x 15 x 15 weighing 1Kg to Milan last week. £31 was the cheapest.
17. @CamdenRob I just checked flights to Denmark Rob, Ryanair are £20 return London to Copenhagen. Damn sight cheaper than a courier.
18. Funny thing any time a friend of mine mentions Guitar Guitar it's a tale of woe. White Cloud got great service and is happy so I won't repeat those tales
19. I shipped 3 basses to a fella in Totana,Spain last month. It was in a big Thomann box so say 1400 x 1000 x 180 and weighed 20Kg. Total cost was £39 and he had them by the fourth day. I booked using UPS via Interparcel. Extra insurance over £100 cost 2%. Ask the buyer to bank transfer the funds as Dan Dare's right PayPal will protect the buyer if anything goes wrong, leaving you to deal with the courier. Could be I've just been lucky but I've sent and received plenty items from Europe without a glitch.
20. Single coil and brand new strings combo sounded a bit bright for me so swapped strings for Hot Wire tapes, that solved it. The Wilkinson itself is a decent pickup, friend in Kenya bought BC'er Thunderbird's PB-50 with a Duncan in it and after I sacked the idea of a 2nd 50 with a toaster, went with Peavey Ferrite, I sent him the spare Wilkinson. He was a bit deflated when he A/B'd them as the Wilkinson sounded the same as the mighty SD he'd heard so much about,it was louder too Interesting idea going with the MM jezzaboy,be great to hear your thoughts if you get around to it.
21. Have to say it's crazy waiting on a deko, which could be knackered, when the full price with warranty is so affordable. I did buy a deko one but that was just to rob the body, made an arse of a pickup rout on one. Only fault was a dodgy tooth on a tuner. Gave it to a friend,my other 2 PB-50s see plenty of use.
22. Hey funkyfingers I've the previous Bromberg bass, the Peavey B-Quad also with piezos. The man sure knows what he likes in a bass
23. A young fella from Holmfirth emailed me for info on your Dynabass, being partial to Peaveys myself I advised him to get round with cash pronto. Seems he ignored my advice Great bass and price, can't see why it's not sold yet. Good luck anyway.
24. There's one I should regret but luckily I killed the pain with years of drugs and alcohol
25. Boogie Oogie is a great tune. The groove is fantastic. Singing & playing it is hard enough, add dancing in high heels too !! You got a real challenge
