  1. I measure 60mm wide as it enters the pocket and 62mm at the end. Those sizes came from a JB-75.

What can I say the Man's a star. I'm in Scotland, piece of Peavey perfection's in Surrey an there's Mark doing all the hard work so it makes it's way up here. Absolute gem of a Man.
  3. Paul_S 2 days from Tokyo !! That's fantastic. I was waiting on a 48 hour delivery from Parcel Farce on Hogmanay, which of course never arrived. It'll be the 5th at the earliest now. Should have used DHL
  4. I wonder how eh Paul As there's probably 10x the numbers of Rics in the US than the UK you stand a much better chance of getting a good one, hell it's even better with US Fenders. They average $800 2nd hand I would suggest keeping the tax and duty factored into any purchase you might make,if you're happy with the deal and you do have to pay at customs the purchase isn' tarnished. Course I think you're thinking of other options
  5. Definitely a good price. Do I need another ? Something just feels right saying " 4 Foundations " Kinda like " The 3 Furies " Shame the 4th one has been lying in a PO depot since New Year's Eve
  6. It's a beauty all right. Shame you didn't gel with it Mark Afraid I don't need another Cirrus or I'd be having this Massive amount of bass there for pennies. GLWS
  7. Damn I thought it read Foundation S. Yorks not Foundation S Yorks. The Foundation S was a PJ with DiMarzio design pickups made by Schaller. You can understand the confusion
  8. BassBunny posted earlier about his experience with the HTR PJ 5'er in the deko thread. He's chuffed to bits with it I'm with you Tobie the standard of affordable bass available now is great.
  9. Glad to hear your HTR is all good BassBunny. There's a fella in the " cheap 5 string " thread would like to hear your thoughts on it
  10. Risky !! Well aye and naw, say you were looking for a Ric. Plenty of them to choose from in the US and prices hover around £1100 sometimes less. You buy the right one but get nailed by customs and pay £280 so for arguments sake it costs you £1400 but you've had the luxury of finding a good one. Most Rics I see for sale in the UK are £1500 - £1700 and you're generally limited in the time to try them or it's buying sight unseen. By playing a few over there you'll get a better grasp of what to look for faults wise. Saving £100 - £200 or maybe even £600 is still a big chunk of change.
  11. Now that is a fine looking and sounding beastie. What a cracking way to end 2016. Yer a lucky Man.
  12. There a fella up had the same Satellite bass at £120 for months,he don't claim 2 factories though
  13. Just a suggestion AT. Have you tried playing with the volume as there's a marked drop in output with both HTR pickups on full. Certainly I'd no complaints about output when used independently. The PJ HTR is £95 but I don't see many Rockbass 5'er below £200,any on the bay are £300 for used.Mind John P says he don't want to throw much money at it .
  14. Over on the Harley Benton Club it's commonly thought 4 or 5 different factories build them, the Danish fella in charge Lasse said as much a few year back. Saein definitely had a hand in at one time, my Shine VI is identical to the older HB 6 strings. OP if you want to see some great HB shorties check out blablas thread in the build diaries,he'd be able to give you an honest opinion on their quality too.
  15. Too late Meddle ! I already know who you are
  16. I think one of the reasons the HBs turn up as dekos so often is Thomann sell 1000s of them every month. Law of average at work. I've had some HBs for 2 year now with no problems, most bought for full price and I was happy to do so. Decent bit of kit for very little money. Remember there's 3 year warranty with them if You ever need it.
  17. Could happen or you could try the old dodge of taking a beater out with you and bring a shiny new one back. If you do get nailed make sure you have a receipt or Customs will decide on a value, with us normally paying £ for $ an $800 (£530) bass could get valued as high as £800. You'd then be liable for 20% VAT + 3% Import Duty. Course you may get lucky in which case Good on You
  18. Afraid I don't know any thing about Martch but first impression was It's Ali Express only written in Polish. Fodera look-a-likes,Wooten Ying/Yang a-likes,the Lemmy Ric a-like are all too familiar. Nothing to stop them getting them built in China with their logo and if the builders hear about and serve a C&D just shut up shop. I may well be wrong, just my opinion from following your link. We've a fair few Polish members on BC so ask in the general discussion section. Might be an idea just to link the home page in case it's viewed as advertising.
  19. Wow Blue you surprise me,never took you for a fan of Morris dancing.
  20. Been on an early 80's kick recently, lots of SLF getting played, last few days Rat Trap has getting a go.Haven't heard it for years so I'm having fun working the parts from memory.
  21. I bought one of these 2nd hand a few years back for £150,making this an absolute steal.
  22. Stax for me. A very long time back Joe Hubbard recommended a Motown compilation " Chartbusters vol 3 or 5 ?" As I really only listened to punk this was a departure for me. Boy I'm glad I bought it as I started looking for Soul and R&B in the record shops, which of course lead me to Stax. Mavis Staple,Booker T,Otis,Issac Hayes ! Oh the talent is astonding. While Motown is still great as is Fame/Muscle Shoals, Stax and it's close ties to the civil rights movement give it the edge for me. Just thankful we've got all 3.
  23. Bought mine 2nd hand in 95 because it was the nearest thing to a Bass Maniac> Fantastic bass and still a joy to play. As TheGreek says you will not find a better bass at £150. Can't understand why it's not gone yet.
