1. Quite happy to go from old punk to listening to Grace, think she can be great. Her skelping Russel Harty more than makes up for the horror of Conan the Destroyer Never got Morrisey either CB
2. Spotted that Patriot too Bassassin.
3. DV247 are selling set of 4 for £35 inc delivery.
4. Saw that one a few weeks back. Crazy price.
5. Time waster ?? Not at all. I said my Fury was " beat to hell " which I think you thought was "mojo" then realised no I really meant beat to hell Apart from costing less can't say a Fury would do any the JV doesn't but I will pass you any details on BBM Furys I hear of.Shame Peavey UK's gone as you could have just got a black scratchplate. 8lbs was the weight you were looking for wasn't it ?
6. Not quite chastised enough for that one Paul . They must of done black/black/maple Furys, that Patriot of mine is B/B/M.
7.
Not me - I've been Peaveyless for some months now. Maybe whoever bought it from me (I forget who that was now)
Sorry Paul that's what I get for making an assumption.
8. Well the $85 shipping and 20% tax on everything would add £100 so Tim's only trying to get his money back. The Fury has no chance,Paul_S sold his last week for £77 on eBay. @alyctes Router chambers out the back of the T-40. Chip Todd had a nice sideline doing just that. 9. Apart from the inflated price ( still normally $100 in the US ) he's got the date wrong. Split-P pickup was introduced in 86. It looks like 87 but has the newer string tree, having the bar instead of the triangle. Nice bass though. The neck would be too skinny for discreet, something like my T-20 measuring 44mm would be better.
10. Not a week goes by when I don't get one of these Generally easy to spot as the PayPal font looks different in my email inbox.
11. Drop Kick Murphys " Kiss Me I'm Sh*t-faced ".
12. You sure don't see many, this one belongs to top man Tim Chapple. He's been trying for a while to get used to it. Patriot is a different beast to T-20's or early Furys, goes to show pickup placement counts more than pickup itself
13. 20% is a bit steep and they could have hid plenty filler under the solid coat. Still it was 72 and there wasn't a great deal of competition. 10% must be the standard mark up for lefties, was the same on the Sapphire. I'd been playing a shop brand Japanese P for about 5 year when I went for my 1st Fender, after trying 6 or 7 I realised they weren't doing anything more than I already had. Not saying they can't be good basses just so can plenty other brands. I heard from Alan Exley at project guitars about a decal, most photos show a blank headstock and he advised going with that. Only one photo shows a logo and it's not a great photo to work from.
14. @bertbass Discrimination against lefties has always been there ,but I was a bit surprised they offered them in the first place
15. Holy smokes a Watkins/Wem from a few years before just sold for £200 more than I paid Saturday.
16. What a result. Congratulations on another fine purchase.
17. Thanks grayn. I don't foresee any real problems with it but need to ask those in the know about the nut. The action's fairly low already but it's not using the zero fret so a bit jiggery-pokery is required.
18.
A Kay Tulip bass? That's more rubbish than a rubbish thing that's really rubbish. The Wilson Sapphire is a great and very playable bass with a slim, fast neck, pickups might be a bit on the low output side though.
Absolutely 100% correct That damned quirk in my personality told me it was a good idea, the one I had was put on the bonfire but the neck still came back to haunt me They were responsible for more folk giving up than starting up Should be forced upon anyone saying today's beginner basses are naff.
19. Thanks bertbass. I'd enlisted the help of Len_derby for a Kay Tulip bass project and boy am I glad that fell through
20. Having just moved from a few years of almost free accommodation to fully legit premises I swore off any purchases. The future looks grim Is heating, hot water and cooking facilities and the bills they entail a fair trade ? Anyway yesterday I'm in Glasgow teetotally helping a friend celebrate his birthday, they're not drinking much as visits to Guitar Guitar,Merchant City and Strung Out etc are planned. To be honest I never saw anything I fancied apart from a MIJ P-bass I've been informed has Foto Flame (cheers Twincam) and a freebie Squier Katana neck (chances of finding the rest zero I think).I was also meeting up with a fella about a bass As the bank sold off my house a couple of years back any YOB would be a modest affair. This fits the bill. 68? Wilson Sapphire. Neck's a bit too straight,it's a refin I'm sure and it needs a new nut. Apart from that all in working order,S/N is 15736 so puts it from 68 or thereabouts. Quite why somebody felt the need to do this is beyond me
21. colgraff Allowances must be made for us non- English speaking one finger typists .
22. Up to my mid 30's I still made an attempt but these days after being subjected to 80's AOR for 12-14hrs at work all I carve is silence.
23. Just heard this myself. Damn Was playing Dio songs on Friday night.
24. Had that happen to me once. Years back a fella messaged me about postage for a U2 I pod. As I've never sold anything on eBay it was new to me.Turned out I had 50 of them for sale
25. Heard the price range earlier $999 to $1599. Will this mean £650 to £1100 ? Can't see it myself Hearing grumblings from America already. " It costs more than a used USA Cirrus ! " " wish they were made in Mississippi " They seem to miss the fact there's probably 50 Fenders sold in the US for every Peavey. Why would they take the trouble to re-open a factory and retrain an expensive workforce for a tiny market ? Oh I forgot no market exists outside of the US,silly me
