  1. That is pretty crappy looking. Should have spent more time on the sculpting, gargoyle looks cartoonish. Was it inspired by Doom 95 ?
  2. If they happen to be singers as well as bass players then they're in with a shout but household names for bass, not much of a chance. More likely " Oh thats ____" The fella from Duran Duran The fella from Tears For Fears The guy from Level 42
  3. Toying with the idea of a YOB but then I spoke to a guy in Holland about a Stacatto.
  4. Lots of folks would advise getting a really good setup done on a £200 bass too.
  5. Bloody hell Mark, that's a nightmare Do you know anybody on here that could help ?
  6. Peavey Fury but it's got to be the later ones. Early models with the slanted pickup are wider, mine measures 43.7mm. The two later Furys I have are 38.3mm and 38.6mm . Criminally under-priced too.
  7. Gave a lad up here the heads-up on this. Hope he sees sense and gets it.
  8. Frankieabbot Funny you mention the Dean Evo I bought mine from the afore named Scott Whitley,it's an OK wee bass,he added an EMG preamp.
  9. All thumbs is Scott Whitley. His basses get linked too in posts 6 & 8.
  10. @ikay That's exactly the one I was going to suggest. Besides Scott being a fantastic player he's been refining his short scale needs for years. Now he's decided get them produced means the design is finished. Check his FB page. https://www.facebook.com/shortscalebass/?fref=ts
  11. Glad to report the Westone Thunder Jet arrived with no dramas by UPS. Due to the expert packing by Dunc they could have drove the van over it and no harm done.
  12. Got the gorgeous green Westone Thunder Jet from Dunc. Whole deal was an absolute breeze. Bass arrived today wonderfully packed using recycled boxes, great idea. Looking forward to dealing with Dunc again.
  13. Oh hell that's a pity but on the bright side You've played it for a good while. I love these folk " why a Peavey ? " what was his opinion afterwards ? It was Tim Chapple I gave the heads-up to,forgot he'd just bought a sunburst Foundation from the States. It's grand all the Peavey players I know are still Peavey players. The copy of the Peavey Guitars book arrived today, replacement for the one stolen in Batley, so I bid you adieu and get on with bedtime reading
  14. Can any shed some light on this bass. An American fella was given it as a present, there's 2 metal pins on the headstock where the logo was and no other markings except " Japan " on the neck plate. [attachment=206410:Japanese bass.jpeg]
  15. Had similar GAS myself Andy. Fat Mike has a lot to answer for.
  16. Big Thumbs up to that Mark. I'm still in two minds , some days I prefer the Ferrites others the VFL. But I'm never far from the Peaveys
  17. Wonder who it was ? Any ideas Mark That's a healthy collection growing in Wolverhampton
  18. On a brighter note I'm happy to report I had a parcel due to be collected yesterday. It was UPS booked via Interparcel. Late on Sunday fellow BC'er itsmedunc discovered he might not have enough ink to print the labels. I phoned Interparcel first thing Monday, phone was answered right away and after explaining to the lass the circumstance she re-booked collection for this morning. Got an email from Dunc at 10am saying it had been collected. Still haven't received the text alert saying it's been collected but quietly confident for delivery tomorrow. Really hope I don't have to write a retraction tomorrow
  19. Thanks for the heads-up wotsy. I've past it on to another Peavey fan,3 1/2 Foundations is more than enough for me . Paid £50 for my 5 string Foundation off eBay but felt that guilty I gifted him another £25,just like this it was a helluva bargain.
  20. Great bass the PB-50,so good I bought 3 of them.
  21. Is that the basses that look like a Curbow ? Can't tell you anything about them I'm afraid but as I've both the Cort Curbow and the Tanglewood effort I wondered how these fitted in.
  22. Beauty of a bass. Out of my budget I'm afraid but I've admired Vigier basses since my teens. Good Luck on a sale that's sure to happen fast.
  23. I joined the ranks of the double P last year, this Mockingbird was on Edinburgh Gumtree priced for a quick sale But I was working in Kent for 2 weeks Didn't look at Gumtree again till the night I travelled home, was amazed it was still there. Was home, had a kip, nipped through to Edinburgh and back for it, all within 12 hours of crossing the border. [attachment=205671:Mockingbird (2).jpg]
