  1. I never laugh at entry gear, I had a Kay from the Grattan book
  2. That's great You've got the Wal back.
  3. Wasted no time Jon. The fella had agreed to sell 15 minutes after posted his Ad. Worked out well for him as he went to Bo'ness and bought a drumkit right after meeting me.Said he was trading the T-Bird that night for more drum gear. Even better my gaffer texted this morning saying they were letting me go so I had plenty time today for playing
  4. Legal limit ? If there is I'm a dead man The white/black/maple is a wonderful playing and sounding bass, closer inspection shows it's been used as a battle axe in more than one skirmish The all white on the right is the latest one and from it's condition I doubt it's ever heard the call " Present Arms " With the early slanted SF pickup Fury in the middle things are pretty much covered.
  5. Sometimes these things are meant to happen. Got home from work yesterday and a fella had a load of bass gear for sale via the local FB gear page. With him only being a mile away I had a look and saw a Peavey Fury. 40 minutes later I've another Fury in the clan From 87 and weighing just 8lb and sporting a very nice RW/Maple neck she's a welcome addition.I'll call her a "she" as that makes 3 Furies . [attachment=199891:3 Furies.jpg] The Greek Myths had 3 Furies ,Goddesses of Vengeance Mines are sweethearts
  6. Shame. But if you can't justify it then it has to go My motto of " Och it's no eatin a piece " has lead to a house full
  7. 4 Dekos from me. Can't see me buying any more. Owning every Peavey in Scotland has taken over
  8. He's playing with Darrel Higham but I've had no luck finding where and when sorry.
  9. The white/tort/RW Super P plays and sounds as good as it looks. David's off on tour soon so i wonder if the sales related. Fantastic opportunity to grab a quality bit of kit.
  10. I just checked my Thomann orders page and there's no option to rate or review dekos. There's also a 50 euro limit for vouchers so might be when you've used them that's it.
  11. Book's due Tuesday or Wednesday Flat Eric so expect it'll be next weekend before I get to read it.
  12. Me too. edit Order placed 5 minutes later
  13. There was the JB-75 that was DOA last month, that could have been considered duff.
  14. Eternal question you're asking there tracktionmonkey Least you've got options and hopefully can try the Ibanez.
  15. What about the Chowny CHB-1 ? Some good videos on the site and quite a few members here have bought them, first batch sold out quickly. Check them out here. http://chownybass.com/
  16. I've been telt by my Mam that there's too many Cardboard boxes cluttering her garage. I always keep them in case I sell a bass but having only ever sold 4 basses in 30 odd years who am I kidding So there's around 6 or 7 boxes, must will have had a Thomann bass in them,up for grabs. I really don't want to scrap them when somebody could get their use so drop me a line OK Pickup only I'm afraid, in Falkirk Central Scotland.
  17. @AT Giving the lumps a scrape using a new Stanley blade resulted in rough patches and a stabbed finger I imagine they happened due to a tiny wee change in pressure when squeezing out the string. No harm done as I fancied trying different strings and £13.20 delivered felt better than £19 + delivery for the Thunder Reds from Thomann. To be honest I did toy with adding a Deko B-35FL,some XLR cables and a BVT-450 to save £7 postage but that's crazy thinking.
  18. Well done Myke. And congratulations Rob on another fine jazz bass. Here's a picture showing one of the nodules my bass uke had on the D string [attachment=199040:PICT0012.jpg] That one's by the 7th and another is on the 12th. I've got a set of D'Addario Nyltech strings on the way and hopefully all will be good.Tell you what ,I found frets difficult on the 1st bass uke, with the fretless I'm struggling big time
  19. Finally collected yesterdays Deko fretless uke. Reason for Deko status - the D string has 2 nodules on the length.
  20. Glad you saw sense in the end. Flat Eric's right, they're kinda thin on the ground here. I just can't get over the condition it's in
  21. Totally agree with you there Rob. JB-75's are damn fine basses,
