  1. Don't know if it's of much use, don't know any gospel to compare it with, but a while back I stumbled across this site. http://www.gospelbasslines.com/
  2. Bought a pedal from Paul. Dead easy purchase, quick delivery and well packed. Top Man
  3. @Naetharu It was some Japanese semi hollow with 3 rusty strings, the controls were mounted on a plywood plate nailed to the body (big hole where they were originally) pickup was held in by nails too.The tuner pegs were missing so I used pliers to tune it. For £1 it was a bargain. Played it through the music centre. Downgraded to the tulip shaped Kay, was a mistake that
  4. Forgot to add my 1st bass cost me £1,that might have helped.
  5. Same situation as Naetharu, everybody was taking up guitar. Bass fitted my level of commitment
  6. A lot of my pals were into metal and fellas like Pete Way and Jimmy Bain were Godsends. As were the fellas in Anti-Nowhere League,Angelic Upstarts and Exploited. Just listening to a tune a few times and going " Aye I can play that " was great. Wouldn't say it stretched me much as a player, but that was never the plan. Funny I looked up Neil Murray yesterday just to see what he was up to,he's doing alright it seems.
  7. Aye you can do intonation, height and string spacing with it. I've at least 2 basses with them, handy design.
  8. I've wondered that myself uncle psychosis, getting binned by TB hasn't changed him.
  9. I'll second wishing Severin a speedy recovery.
  10. That is pretty crappy looking. Should have spent more time on the sculpting, gargoyle looks cartoonish. Was it inspired by Doom 95 ?
  11. If they happen to be singers as well as bass players then they're in with a shout but household names for bass, not much of a chance. More likely " Oh thats ____" The fella from Duran Duran The fella from Tears For Fears The guy from Level 42
  12. Toying with the idea of a YOB but then I spoke to a guy in Holland about a Stacatto.
  13. Lots of folks would advise getting a really good setup done on a £200 bass too.
  14. Bloody hell Mark, that's a nightmare Do you know anybody on here that could help ?
  15. Peavey Fury but it's got to be the later ones. Early models with the slanted pickup are wider, mine measures 43.7mm. The two later Furys I have are 38.3mm and 38.6mm . Criminally under-priced too.
  16. Gave a lad up here the heads-up on this. Hope he sees sense and gets it.
  17. Thanks Jon. Past him the link
  18. Frankieabbot Funny you mention the Dean Evo I bought mine from the afore named Scott Whitley,it's an OK wee bass,he added an EMG preamp.
  19. All thumbs is Scott Whitley. His basses get linked too in posts 6 & 8.
  20. @ikay That's exactly the one I was going to suggest. Besides Scott being a fantastic player he's been refining his short scale needs for years. Now he's decided get them produced means the design is finished. Check his FB page. https://www.facebook.com/shortscalebass/?fref=ts
  21. Glad to report the Westone Thunder Jet arrived with no dramas by UPS. Due to the expert packing by Dunc they could have drove the van over it and no harm done.
  22. Got the gorgeous green Westone Thunder Jet from Dunc. Whole deal was an absolute breeze. Bass arrived today wonderfully packed using recycled boxes, great idea. Looking forward to dealing with Dunc again.
  23. Oh hell that's a pity but on the bright side You've played it for a good while. I love these folk " why a Peavey ? " what was his opinion afterwards ? It was Tim Chapple I gave the heads-up to,forgot he'd just bought a sunburst Foundation from the States. It's grand all the Peavey players I know are still Peavey players. The copy of the Peavey Guitars book arrived today, replacement for the one stolen in Batley, so I bid you adieu and get on with bedtime reading
  24. Can any shed some light on this bass. An American fella was given it as a present, there's 2 metal pins on the headstock where the logo was and no other markings except " Japan " on the neck plate. [attachment=206410:Japanese bass.jpeg]
