  1. Big_Stu and Beer of the Bass I was living in Gilmore Place at the time and it was across the road.Looked on the Google satellite and I'm shocked I got Bennets Bar in the wrong place
  2. @3below A friend did say soon folks will be buying new basses rather than change strings The are some great bits of kit out now though for much cheapness.
  3. Big_Stu Was Live Music no up past the Kings at the start of the Meadows ? One I'm thinking of was opposite the Cameo an next to Bentleys Bar. Marshalls or something rings a bell.
  4. I remember Bostons well, assorted gear and weaponry. Was no surprised when the court case happened. What was the shop in Tollcross ? same side and just before the Kings.
  5. There's also the £108 Harley Benton one. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_jb_40fl_sb.htm If it sounds and plays like their JB-75 You're on a winner.
  6. No word from Thomann yet. Bit of a bind cause I want to add some stuff to the order. edit order has been confirmed.
  7. Got 2 already Rob One with Status nylons and one soon to sport a Peavey SF pickup.Very nice basses. Thunderbird on here sold one with an SD in it to a fella in Kenya and I sent him the spare Wilkinson. He was a bit disappointed, both sounded the exact same just the Wilkinson was louder. After years of hearing great things about swapping pickups he'd expected more. https://soundcloud.com/subdude67/wilkinson-pickup https://soundcloud.com/subdude67/seymour-duncan-pickup
  8. was getting prices for an American interested in PB-50 just now. They've just been listed. I got a voucher this morning and no self control. Keenly awaiting confirmation email
  9. I saw this fretless neck today and the thinking behind it is lost on me. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fretless-Bass-guitar-neck-/252091245369?hash=item3ab1cf2339 And I've had some pretty daft ideas
  10. Spotted them at 10pm,added them to basket then proceeded to add items to save on postage. Reminded myself I'd just spent a fortune replacing this weeks stolen tools,no dekos for me this week
  11. Got the book last Friday Was in my bag that was stolen on Saturday evening Only got to page 108 but it was great up to then
  12. Did anyone else notice the TE-80 NT this week double in price after a scratchplate swap. From tort to leopard print " That'll be another £110 please " To be fair seller did add a massive orange cap too.
  13. Another successful purchase from Nige Pleasure to deal with as always, now I just need to decide what bass gets the Nexus treatment. Cheers Nige, You're a Gent
  14. @TheButler Good on you. Might have been a grey area technically but I never felt it was above-board.
  15. Could be the extent of the deko reason. I've saw the ukes listed at 2 different prices and they do the same with b-stock. Course could just be anti-leftie bias
  16. I never laugh at entry gear, I had a Kay from the Grattan book
  17. That's great You've got the Wal back.
  18. That's correct AT.
  19. Wasted no time Jon. The fella had agreed to sell 15 minutes after posted his Ad. Worked out well for him as he went to Bo'ness and bought a drumkit right after meeting me.Said he was trading the T-Bird that night for more drum gear. Even better my gaffer texted this morning saying they were letting me go so I had plenty time today for playing
  20. Legal limit ? If there is I'm a dead man The white/black/maple is a wonderful playing and sounding bass, closer inspection shows it's been used as a battle axe in more than one skirmish The all white on the right is the latest one and from it's condition I doubt it's ever heard the call " Present Arms " With the early slanted SF pickup Fury in the middle things are pretty much covered.
  21. Sometimes these things are meant to happen. Got home from work yesterday and a fella had a load of bass gear for sale via the local FB gear page. With him only being a mile away I had a look and saw a Peavey Fury. 40 minutes later I've another Fury in the clan From 87 and weighing just 8lb and sporting a very nice RW/Maple neck she's a welcome addition.I'll call her a "she" as that makes 3 Furies . [attachment=199891:3 Furies.jpg] The Greek Myths had 3 Furies ,Goddesses of Vengeance Mines are sweethearts
  22. Shame. But if you can't justify it then it has to go My motto of " Och it's no eatin a piece " has lead to a house full
  23. 4 Dekos from me. Can't see me buying any more. Owning every Peavey in Scotland has taken over
  24. He's playing with Darrel Higham but I've had no luck finding where and when sorry.
