1. Actually cheaper Coldflows. My black acoustic deko was 55 euro and that was before the price hike in Feburary.
2.
Looks like it is in exactly the same position as the bass it is based on.
Well said that Man
3. Excellent idea AT. And one that's easily do-able judging by how often deko jazzes appear. Bartelby Did you flip the jazz kinda a la Hendrix only in reverse ?
4. AT Apply the tip of your soldering iron to the truss rod nut,it'll expand allowing the oil to seep in better. Agree it's the wrong picture used for the black Jazz,no deko warning in the description.
5. Damn fine looking bass you got there Ben. I thought for a moment they were the same pickups used in one of mine and it's LOUD ! Renegade is an apt name for this and the builder Cheers for posting
6. Acoustic 4 & 5 strings are listed just now.
7. Is it one of the ones mentioned in the closed group on FB last week or so ? Cause if it is, God knows. Might be idea to run it by one of the mods.
8. Depends on the model as there's the unmentionable and the latest very very unmentionable To be on the safe side I'd go with the Rickenfakers. Think I did the Harley Benton RB414 outside but you can't put links to it or mention the " other ".
9. There's always the Rickenfaker thread Coldflows. It's in the Bass Guitar section.
10. That's a helluva long time Andy. Even when I've ordered out of stock items they always arrive before the expected in-stock date. 32 channel desk they'd be waiting on the weightlifter delivery driver getting back from his holidays
11. Do Thomann ship through Calais ? I placed an order last Saturday morning and it was delivered Tuesday morning. Could be deliveries to Scotland go a different route, maybe by air because that's very fast considering no-one works Sundays at Thomann. Sunday night orders always arrive Wednesday morning. 56 hours from order processed email to signing for goods being the norm.
12. For less than £300 I don't think you've done bad at all. A wee bit more spent on pickups etc and it'll be a fantastic bit of kit, certainly looks the part Most flaws will only get noticed when you point them out to folk so forget about them and enjoy your bass. Happy NBD
13. That's a bloody shame, just console yersel that £2 was really just part of the £52 more they had in Max Bid. Get down to Winchester and have a word about this one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-Iceman-ICB250-BKFS-Bass-guitar-/201376194619?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ee2f4e03b Good Luck.
14. Paul_5 was discussing an Aria with very similar pickups just this week. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/264669-aria-diamond-series-bass-know-anything/ My money is on his being the better deal. JJW Did you get the Iceman last week ?
15. There's a fella Gullum on the Harley Benton forum who posted this. https://www.indabamusic.com/opportunities/jessi-malay-noises-remix-contest/submissions/f71b1f7a-16ba-11e5-a522-0e52404cc67c That's him using his B-650 and an L-450 guitar on some kind of wikiloops type track, sounds a bit quiet but I think the idea is to showcase the singer.Still Gulum is happy to use his B-650 and that says a lot for a £110 instrument
16. I'd saw those other basses Bassassin but I'm never 100% on the ruling here. Anyone interested better be quick Mr K says they're selling fast, as they should the green one looks great.
17. No such luck AT. But if there was never fear I'd have got you one, would even have stretched to £11
18. bartelby I just took the control plate off my Zygote, pretty big cavity there I'm afraid Plus point was both MM pickups are 4 wire so series/parallel wiring is an option. It works great on the Evo so now I'm itching to try it on the Zygote. That's the great thing about David's basses ,with him being a player and tinkerer modding options are part of the design.
19. I visited the Retrovibe site yesterday and there's been some changes, all for the good First the website has been tidied up and it appears there's been price changes, all 4 strings being £249. Dave's also got two new ranges The Angel and Super P. Gotta say the white Super P just shouts " Buy Me " Have a look for yourselves folks. http://www.retrovibe.co.uk/index.html
20. I'm glad to see your wait is over, must say it looks great. Am I right in thinking that it's cheaper today than in the late 70s,allowing for inflation.
21. Ah they must have found more then, I posted about those PJs around 5pm before CamdenRob and Bartleby bought theirs. Hoped there had been something new.
22. Also Seth Lover had the patent on humbucker pickups so this was the way to pretend it wasn't a humbucker. They still don't like to talk about that.
23. What went up AT ? I don't see anything other than the baby Warwick,Banjo and Reso.
24. That's the spirit Rob. I really hope the deko reason is minor as you pair gave me the jolt needed to play my own. There was a wireless unit and a padded strap from Thomann arrived today so the PJ 4 with chromes did the honours. What a great comfortable bass to play. Most of my dekos only needed a truss rod tweek and the JB-75 had a faulty tone pot so fingers crossed you have similar.
25. Surely the answer to WHY is they were £25 and £33 Good news is Thomann really seem to be on the ball just now. I put an order in on Saturday and got it today, now they finish at 16.00 on Saturday and don't work Sunday so 2.5 working days Germany to Scotland. That's fast. You fellas could have them by Friday.
