1. Well not quite an explosion. Before venturing to England for a few weeks I was lucky enough to be the winning bidder on a B-Ninety with Seymours. So off I go and the seller tells me shipping's delayed as prices to box it are too high, then he goes off on business and can't find the receipt. A week pass and he's back with the receipt but it's stuck in Erlanger. No further info other than delivered there. Now I don't want to start a case as it's not his fault, ebay's global shipping thing is meant to take care of everything. But then today with no warning it was delivered, by Yodel of all things. No signatures or anything. Who cares, this quite pretty, well played bass arrived. Plenty dinks here and there and a crack over the control cavity which might explain why the jack has been moved. And this thing Growls. It also brings the Peavey count to 13 which sounds a good number to stop at.I know there's FEND3R's one for sale just now so this might not be the end. Any questions feel free to ask folks.
2. Here's the link. http://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/bass-guitar-hayman-40-40-/1086358356#
3. Sorry Gary Geoff from Wishaw got in first, might have a couple later on next month. I'll get in touch if I do OK. Davie
4. That's a good start to your weekend jono. 13 days before I get my hands on a bass. The T40 neck and Foundation body are waiting for me at home. No good this working lark, don't these gaffers know I've basses to care for:-)
5. Thomann's PB-50 is a good quality bass. Have tapes on mines sounds great.
6. Won't know till week after next Jono. I'm stuck in Kent then Stratford upon Avon then Plymouth. I'll get them to fit never fear. Doesn't help though if anybody is thinking doing the same.
7. I went for the T 40 neck and a Foundation body. No idea what pickups I'll fit.
8. Jono . what's overpaid about it. Cheaper than a squier. And another Peavey comes to Scotland.
9. Surprisingly it's quite light but yeah it's built in to last. When I get back I'll post a photo of the bridge. The screws are monsters.
10. I'm sure there's a man in Edinburgh knows just how to sort a meddled bass
11. 3below has the same thoughts as myself. All your eggs in one basket are easy to carry but the saying comes with a warning.
12. I'd lose. That fella fights dirty.:-)
13. I'm away from home for a few weeks CamdenRob but here's one from my phone. Can't seem to upload photos so a link will have to do sorry. When I get back I'll sort something better.
14. What a result Dunc Easy fix on such a braw bass. Congratulations on that one.
15. All on display CamdenRob. Though I can see me running out of space very soon.
16. Gafbass That's the business.Looks grand.
17. Maybe they're just testing the water and watching our responses. Then next year they fill all our wishes even AT's 9 string Chapman stick, but they'll show their cruel side and release it in 2 parts as a 9 string bass and a stick. Seriously if they sell enough of the T-birds there's a chance for variations. Not looking for another 5 string but I'd be tempted by a white T-bird. Though who would buy my Epi sunburst T-bird then Just going to email Thomann now. I'll mention 5 string in white. Email sent. just have to wait and see if I get a response Pete
18. Hell fire I'm liking what I see here. The Forum is definitely the big bro there. Both of them look in perfect nick. Congratulations again on the Fury. No sour grapes from me. That was a great buy,you enjoy what's left of tonight with it.
19. Your good lady bought you the bass. That sounds like she's a keeper. Sorry Pete The white 5 string is the Progressive B550 subrob has just bought. We all have to write Uncle Thomann and ask nicely for the White T-bird
20. There was a 5 string Peavey Foundation on ebay and I think I was the only bidder. The seller said the neck was out of line so that might have affected things. Paid £51 for it then gifted the seller another £25 which was still too little. Favourite one was, yes another Peavey ,this time a Grind. Seller had no reserve and it was starting at £50. Emailed him to say it was a Vietnamese model and he should mention that in the listing then posted here about it. Day of sale bumped the thread again and while a few of us were discussing the merits of Peaveys it shot up to £161. Don't know if us talking helped his sale but I'd like to think so.
21. You went for it subrob. Good for you. 1st thing to expect is a big double box probably before the week's out. I gave the sound samples a listen and it sounded fine, crunchy sounds coming from it alright. If you're not happy the 30 day return option is handy. But let's hope you don't need it and you're laying down heavy licks by the weekend. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think.
22. Foundation's a great bass and I've yet to try a Forum,be interesting to try one out. Never know maybe one day I'll get lucky as yourself
23. Paul if it's the same as the Milestone III It'll have a 38mm nut and weigh about 9 lbs. That was my 1st Peavey and the one that started me on the Peavey kick. I figured that if the entry ones were this good the others would be great. Now 11 Peaveys later I still think highly of the Milestone and it still gets played. CamdenRob I never thought it would end up like this. For years it was just the Bass Collection and an old Washburn then the bank/house thing happened and I started playing again. To save me de-tuning I looked on ebay and picked up the Washburn 5 string but I couldn't believe what you can buy these days. That was the baw bust as we say up here. You're right the house is better stocked than some shops,36 basses in 5 racks in the livingroom. All got for good prices, about 3rd under £80, 3rd under £150 and rest under £240. Still a lot of money I'll admit but I've been sober going on 2 1/2 years and well like I've said fresh start for me and the cat, better the benefits all around me than printed on a bank statement or in the publicans pocket
