Definitely looks the same as mines AT
-
Happy Jack it shouldn't be that heavy, probably around 10 lbs same as the Foundation 5s. Had another look at it though and not for me.Real problem is it's not a Dyna bass or a Unity. It's a International so made in Korea, the newer models have " Handcrafted in Indonesia " on the back of the headstock which doesn't have. It plainly states it's an International whereas Dyna basses will have " Made in America " on the headstock. You'd be better off looking for a Millennium AC 5 string at that price point. Nice bass but kinda over-priced,my International 4 string was £65. AT I'm on to the subs now well I will be by the end of the month, there's a T-20 and a Patriot on the way from the State but I've not fitted the pickups to the Zodiac DE yet so no photos or thoughts till that's done.

414 is the one I had in mind Beer. Just erring on the side of caution though so I didn't link it either. Pretty certain that certain manufacturer is aware of it but it must be kosher or it wouldn't be for sale.
-
I've seen and heard dobro or resonator guitars before just never a bass one. Nothing unusual in that only found out what a saxo bajo was a few months back.
-
Saw them a couple of weeks back. Like most things I've no idea what it's used for I know the bass that can't be mentioned AT. One will be ordered this week, must be about the only style of bass I haven't tried

I wondered about that. Never saw that it'd been sold though just thought it was relisted at the BIN price. Out and out fake.

USA Peavey Fury. White/black/maple
kodiakblair replied to solo4652's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Was the highest bidder till 5 seconds to go. While frantically trying to up my max again it ended. Not taking that chance again so I ordered a T 20 from the States. Methinks the days of mega cheap USA Peaveys are numbered. Still cheap though, did a search to see what was available for the cost of the T 20 + shipping, no brainer 30 year old Peavey against entry level Squier,Corts and Ibanez. Pictures when it gets here. -
Paul's Peavey Zodiac DE body just arrived. Absolutely mint as described. Top man to deal with. Thanks Paul.

Finally got round to posting a photo. But there's another 2 on the way. [attachment=172938:Pride of Peaveys (1).jpg] -
Have you tried plucking with the pad of your thumb. Now that's Old School Monk Montgomery style. 30 years of chapping nails in and busting fingers has left my hands kinda beat up so when the knuckles tighten up I just pluck with my thumb. Like the others have said there's no rules set in stone.

Obscure Musical Backwaters - The Great SGC Nanyo Thread

Best reason I ever heard Mornats Mines is from 88 also in pearl white. Would never part with it,got it here as I type. Great basses back then, great basses still. -
Sharkfinger's on to something there. Few months back a lad in Paisley was selling an unbranded fretless on ebay starting at £50,no takers. Re-listed it the next week £150. 3 bids 1st day. Folks are so wrapped up with fashion and brand names they're like sheep ready for a fleecing.

Hey Chris I was wondering about those Entwistles as I've got Thunderbird's Zodiac DE body coming this week. As you're a man who knows his Peaveys, I'll be wondering no more. Neos it is

Try this outfit for the DIY approach. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clear-Acrylic-Perspex-Plastic-Sheet-Custom-Sizes-2mm-6mm-Thick-Material-/200980451609?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=500196578712&hash=item2ecb5e5119 And this fella says he'll refund if it don't fit, just leave the plastic on it until you're 100% sure. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLEAR-SCRATCHPLATE-PICKGUARD-FOR-FENDER-JAZZ-BASS-NEW-/151424450432?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item234199bf80

'Tune' Japanese basses, anybody know much about them?
kodiakblair replied to Richeyrockshack's topic in Bass Guitars
I was after an original Bass Maniac back in the 80's. It was a white fretless with extended board and piezo [attachment=172842:Tune_fretless_Bass.jpg] Years have gone but I've never seen one so earlier this year when I saw one on ebay I got it, TBW-4Z,. Not made any more and I think it's Korean. But just so I can show it off here it is, damn good bass if I may be so bold. [attachment=172847:IMAG0219.jpg] -
Mornats How about getting a clear scratchplate and putting a printed graphic below it. You could try all manner of colours that way. I had the idea a while back to use on an old Westone Concord I'd stripped. Scanned in the back then matched up the grain in photoshop. Idea was scrapped though and I went with faux leather in homage to an old Wal I had. Faux leather was easier to find on a Sunday morning.

You get no argument from me there tauzero. Though my experience of USA made is limited to 2 Foundations the quality on my BXP basses is equally high. Leading me to believe the USA vs BXP bias is a something carried over from other brands. The Vietnam BXP Grind is a fantastic bass, more fun to play than the Cirrus IMO. Hartley Peavey doesn't strike me as a man who'd put his company name on inferior goods, if you think when the 1 pickup T-45 was released it was priced the same as the 2 pickup T-40 because " They're both great instruments ". On a happy side-note I've just had an email telling me my 85 Patriot has shipped.2 weeks and I'll find out what these Super Ferrites are like
-
I've seen it a few times Bassman but thought the same as Telebass so never bothered to ask.
-
You're right there BetaFunk. Lucky for me I'm not a Kinks man. AT I see where you're going and I'm sure you'll get there.Might take time but it'll happen.Good choices with the Bass Collection and the Peaveys.
-
Hey Kiwi We do talk about them here, just seems to be difficult to get others interested. Wherever they're built Peaveys are good IMO.I don't get the big F thing either, tried some nearly 30 years back and felt the name cost as much as the bass and there was plenty other makes just as worthy.I don't sell basses for profit so resale values aren't a consideration. I've yet to be convinced by designer jeans too,why would I wear £100 jeans when £25 Wranglers fit better and last longer. The American made angle was true years back when the Far East was starting but that ship sailed years ago. Again IMO these days it's a marketing label. Back to Peaveys. The Milestone III is a great bass, was my 1st Peavey still have it and won't part with it.No complaints with the BXPs either. While it's good for us who rate them it's a damn shame for those trying to sell them, there's a Millennium for sale on here at a good price and I think only myself and the seller Thunderbird have posted on the thread. But even the well known T-40 doesn't command a high price for what it is, 30 year old flagship bass still used on countless Nashville records today and they go for £400 tops.

I'm with miles'tone on this. White on white looks great, far better than my sunburst T-bird.
