Yet another P-bass neck arrived from the top man that is Ross.

Following on from a discussion at Germany's bassic.de this week. PG for the JB-75 will be heading to Glasgow on Sunday 👍

@Bassybert I've one of the US ones on the way . When it arrives I'll have a better idea of the size. Plan is get some ring crimp terminals of the correct size then plate them. Largest I can find so far take a 20mm stud. What do you think the ferrule diameter is ? Could be as simple as popping the ferrule out, slip the crimping ring over it then slipping it back on the peghead.

Good news folks. About half hour after my last reply Brian got in touch. PB-20 plate was handed over at 13.30 this afternoon.

No word so far this morning. Not an encouraging sign when you know the fella does 12 to 14 hour shifts 7 days a week.

I've got it here, already to drop off tomorrow 🙂 However there may be slight hiccup, Brian messaged me half hour back saying he got his Covid jag today and is feeling OK. He'll message me again in the morning if that's still the case. If he's floored I can always drop them off at his house 👍 Bonus bit of good news. The same PG fits the standard black and the stealth black 😎

I desperately wanted a Tune Maniac but with little cash bought Washburn instead, if the Nanyo Bass Collections were out I wasn't aware of them. Started with a Force ABT B-20 in a kind of oyster/ivory finish. It was replaced with a Bass Collection. Years down the line nostalgia struck.

He's the designer but it's G&B in Korea who build them, they ship them to the NBE factory too. Bit weird that, Roswell (another Korean outfit) supply NBE the Spector pickups. You'd think they'd use the same place for both.

Peavey's website carries zero info for most of their overseas products. Afraid I can't give you much. Fury II's were Korean builds from 1999 to 2003. Preamp is +/- 8Db for bass,mids and highs.

Taking a chance with that since cafes are "takeaway only" just now. Have to say I'm perplexed by this . " Bassist who lost everything, (partially) opens cafe while hospitality industry teeters on the brink of collapse." For a bass player, the lass has terrible timing 🤣

I've bought a few pickups from Dave. he's a top man. Last pickup was an over-wound split single coil. Not a big deal except I wanted it wound to 29.9k ohm. Dave was up to the challenge, run a few questions my way then he was all set. 4 days later I was installing the pickup. That's the cap value used on the Peavey Fury and Patriot (P-bass clones) and folks rave about those. The G&L LB-100 also had a .022uf cap.

Saw a post by Steve concerning Peavey Zephyr/Grind pickups. Having some small experience with Peaveys I chipped in with a few options. Couple of days later I spotted his "wanted" ad. 2 pairs of Peavey pickups were posted down to him the next day 🙂 Comms were great, payment was prompt and he had the courtesy to let me know when the goodies arrived. In my book that's a very satisfactory BassChat deal. Smashing bloke, one I hope to do business with again.
