Before I ruin a new neck...clever people advice needed...
kodiakblair replied to donslow's topic in Repairs and Technical
It leads to a lot of faffing about Dan,I've tried scaling before . Sometimes they print out shorter instead of just a narrower nut. print at 100%. All that matters is the lines flow together in a pleasing way đ -

Right here goes. Telecaster template with 38mm nut. P-bass template 42mm nut. To get the E tuner area just get the template touching top and side. Draw round it. Place your template to the G side of the nut. Mark 1 Set Point 2 . Move the template to give a clean line for Points 1+2. All points joined đ -

Areas to concentrate on. Overall length. The wee area heading up the E tuner, tiny wee bit sanding. The rounded tip,get that right đ For the bottom curve to work, place the template on the back and mark the bare wood as the headstock leaves the nut. Move the template up to the rounded tip, make a mark as the tip sweeps to the bottom curve . Move the template again, swinging it until you came join both marks. I'll see about getting a photo or 2 posted. -

5 months till back in stock âšī¸ Don't know how I'll cope đ -
Pretty sure the differences are down to screw spacing but I'd stick with USA to be safe.
-
Highly recommend this fella. He's just started up again due to the Covid. OK, Brian is not the cheapest but he's in Glasgow so no 4-6 weeks delivery. There's also options, not just in colour. Want a USA P plate,he does them. Need a Fender Japan plate ,he does them too đ https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=earlpilanz&_osacat=41424&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEFSXS%3AMESOI&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xbass.TRS0&_nkw=bass&_sacat=41424 PS Shortly to be adding Harley Benton PB-50 plates and Fender Japan 51 P-bass plates to the inventory đ

Opinions required... Nut or neck pocket?
kodiakblair replied to P-Belly Evans's topic in Repairs and Technical
Send it back and hope the replacement is better. You've paid good money for it so deserve to get your money's worth. -
This fella cost me about ÂŖ32. Paulowina body was ÂŖ22 but the ebay seller fibbed about being in London and 5 days delivery. After 5 weeks I got fed up and filed a refund, body turned up from China the day after refund đ¤ Neck was ÂŖ18 from here. Pickup is an Entwistle PBXN, bought as 2 bobbins here for ÂŖ10. Varitone pot cost ÂŖ4 to knock up. Bridge, knobs and scratchplate out the spares drawer. Finish is black ink and silver wax paste.

Even if they were Roswells,You swapped ceramic for alnico. Good decision IMO đ

Screen grab from Roswell site.
-
Course not. All it means is Roswell supply pickups to FMIC. ESP is another client. I can't remember if Fernandes were also listed. Tune definitely were one but they are owned by Roswell's parent company "WSC Music" so that's a given. Think maybe 8 companies were listed.
-
Bill of ladings gave a port in California as arrival point.
-
There a password protected area on the Roswell site for the items they supply FMIC. As for the deliveries.I was looking through bills of ladings ,every two weeks a shipment headed to Corona.
-
Roswell build pickups for Fender. Weird thing is deliveries go straight to California not Mexico so where do they source their MIM pickups from ?
-
Good move. I bought luggage scales from the ÂŖ1 shop..

WOW. Surprised I made it to 10 seconds in đ There's way too much of this mock outrage shite on the net. Hope Rich Tone does the right thing and tells KKR where to go đ

I ordered some parts from an ebay seller based in China start of Feb. Two weeks in they emailed saying to expect a delay, two weeks after that they emailed again saying there were further delays and I should think about cancelling. It was only string trees, bridge screws, nothing pressing so I said I'd hang fire until the due date đ Every week I got the same email. "We appreciate your business but at this point it's unlikely the goods will arrive. If you can source them elsewhere we suggest you cancel your order and buy from there instead". Week passed the due date I took their advice đ Into the second week waiting on delivery from a UK seller đ¤Ŗ

Maybe not but it's probably the bass @ezbass was referring to.
-
That'd been a Doug Wilkes bass from the early 80's.
-
@Osiris Thanks Sid. Some folk think I'm daft but peace of mind is worth more to me than a few extra quid đ
-
I was looking for a short scale and Sid got in touch. Talk took a detour and ended with Sid buying a pair of Entwistle neodymium pickups I had spare đ No messin,no quibble just a done deal. A true Gent and I look forward to future dealings.

Who would you have been seeing next before lockdown?
kodiakblair replied to ubit's topic in General Discussion
Aye, a wee bit annoyed about that one myself. Heard nothing regarding The Pixies in August .
