That's an absolute nightmare. I've a house move expected for 2019,many basses won't be coming with me 😞 I'll give you a couple of months to get over your disappointment before asking if your interest is rekindled.

Bought a set of Wilkinson machineheads from Colin this week. He's an absolute gent.

No idea about his music but it's an Ibanez signature bass for a Gary Willis.

Just a light going-over with a Scotchbrite pad first. No clear coat for rapid wear and a vintage look. Front of headstock sanded after shaping to remove original decal. @briansbrew

Dug my old Peavey B-90 out the other night and I see the photo I'd posted never made the site move 🙂 Maple/Rosewood neck. Poplar body. Previous owner stuck Duncan "Antiquity" PJ and a Duncan preamp in it. Gotoh bridge. Drilling 2 extra holes weakened the top over the control cavity,caused a split in the finish 🙁 Cost me £66 so you can bet your backside I've no complaints 😃

PBXN + La Bella flats = Ron Carter' tone on "The Revolution will not be Televised". Tone pot rolled back of course. Was playing around with the Revelation RPBX (it sports 2 PBXN pickups) at the weekend when I thought hey-ho I know that tone. Stuck the tune on,started playing. Bingo,nailed the tone easy.

Just back from seeing the wonderfully named Nashville meow meow. Great show and no bloody guitar solos to spoil it 🙂 Songs about sex,drugs and alcohol, laced with plenty of swearing. Rock music at it's finest 👍

Saw a good deal on Virgin media mobile Internet sim. 200Gb for £20 per month. Shame my £35 a month Virgin media broadband contract runs until August.

@itu Here's some photos. For the preamp Tune just used their standard one and hooked the piezo bridge to it. The neck pocket is very long but really secure. Since I had the camera working here's a few Peaveys folks don't normally see. L to R G-bass, Randy Jackson -IV, B-Quad and the Midibase. Yes, Peavet spelt it with an 'e' 😊

@itu Had a pc crash last night so no photos until I'm back from work. A wee correction, the B-Quad had a Modulus neck but for the G-bass and G-V basses Peavey sent their necks to a gun stock maker for wrapping. Been plenty confirmation from Peavey over the years the company involved was Bell and Carlson.

I've had it a couple of years now 🙂 When I got the alert it was for sale I just grabbed the credit card,I'd worry about shipping/imported duty later. Thankfully one of my better decisions 😎

@Bassassin This one should pique your MIJ interest 🙂 Around 83/84 (?) Guitarist magazine had aTune Bass Maniac review and I was smitten. The black fretted model looked great but the piezo fretless blew me away 😍 The Bass Centre had them for £899 and I had a YTS paying £16.40 weekly,couldn't feed myself on that wage nevermind save for a bass. Never saw one for sale anywhere ☹️ When I discovered bass forums online I'd follow every Tune thread looking for the fretless of my dreams,with no luck. Danny,who runs Bass Japan, told me even in Japan they were like hen's teeth. On the various Tune Bass owners clubs and FB pages I only found 3 people who owned 1. 1 fella is in Italy,another in Japan and 1 fella in Australia had one briefly (his fingerboard went wonky and the replacement was the 2 octave version) After 32 years wait 1 came up for sale,in Japan 😱

When Jim DeCola moved to Fender he asked what was the difference between a standard jazz and a Geddy. "Your Palaedium neck" was the reply I've a purple Axcelerator 5 string.my Palaedium is the amber colour same as your's.

@Mastodon2 Were you aware Fender used a Palaedium neck in the design of the Geddy Lee jazz bass ?
