I'm afraid not, just an alder body capped with maple.
-
Best photo I have is the auction one. Peavey Resolite. Unusual for a Peavey bass it got a 2+2 headstock, also has a chambered body. These appeared in the catalogue but only 4 were actually built.

A few months down the line and I still wasn't 100% happy with Almost a Telecaster. The 2 saddle bridge and that extra fret just didn't work together 😠 Popped a 20 fret Harley Benton PB-50 neck on it and the problem was solved 😎 Also since cutting the pearloid scratchplate I picked up one from a Squier Modern Player Telecaser bass. I still like to fake pickup cover on pearloid but a pal in Germany sold me a Lakland Chi Sonic 🙂 Darkstar/Bi-Sonic are well thought of in a Telecaster bass thread I was reading so the bass now looks like this 🙂 Even with the Chi Sonic,PB-50 neck and the Squier scratchplate costs added I'm still under the £275 target.

Serial number on mine is 00059. Schaller tuners,Schaller 3-D bridge and Schaller strap locks. Goggle image search for Gordy all show Schaller bridges except for the super cool headless one. After seeing this one I'll definitely be re-finishing mine 🙂

The finish on the body is in better shape than on my Blueshift so I gave a thought on bidding. £50 inc shipping and still 6 days to go ?? Think i'll go the sandpaper/tung oil road instead 😃 @Bassassin You're right. Schaller bridge and machineheads were stock on these.
-
Not much of an improvement on this one either.

What bit of "The headstock shape must be traditional." in my post did you feel needed explaining ?
-
The headstock shape must be traditional. This fella turns up in a few Google photo searches playing the " Đàn tứ dây " (Vietnamese bass guitar)
-
No wider than 3". Very uncomfortable having a 12.5lb T40 hanging from a 4" strap that's cutting into your neck.
-
That jazz does nothing for me but thankfully you're not me 😃 Buy it. We get one chance at this life so enjoy it 👍

I just bought a Schaller bridge from Steve. Paid him late Thursday night and he popped it in the post Friday. Postie delivered it today 🙂 Cheers Steve, you're a top man 👍

Hobgoblin Music have the RBN 5 for £359 and Allegro want £389. £225 seems a very fair price.

So, just how many basses do you own ????

No idea how you're getting £150. I just got a quote Falkirk to Paris. Dimensions were 150cm x 50cm x 20cm. Weight 15Kg. Fairly standard for a flight cased bass wrapped in cardboard. Interparcel quotes were as follows. Standard by next Monday. DPD Classic £16.19. UPS Standard £29.22. FX Economy £54.33. TNT Economy £75.06 UPS Express were £105 collected tomorrow, delivered by Friday. Of course these prices don't have insurance added,it's roughly 4% When I shipped a Peavey Custom Cirrus to Norway it got nabbed by customs. DPD copied/printed extra customs duty forms for me then forwarded the manual and my declaration it conformed with CITES regs. Bloody good service for the £18 shipping fee😎

WooSung Chorus Music. That's the Korean company behind Tune Guitar Technology,Roswell Pickups and plenty other parts. It's them who make Grover and Kluson tuners.
-
You're not far off. The retail price for the tuners, bridge, pickups, preamp and nut is around £270. Oddly enough my WSC password doesn't give me access to the OEM prices so I can't tell what the factories get the parts for 😕

@ben4343 Chances are you've played Roswell pickups, they make pickups for Fender, ESP, Fernándes, Status and a few others. Also quite pricy if you try buying aftermarket, not that price means much 🙂
-
@warwickhunt There is no "pre-sale". The head went on sale March 2015. G4M and Thomann are just waiting on stock coming in. Pretty indepth review of it here. If you use Chrome, set it to "translate" https://www.disssa.de/reviews/amps/bugera-veyron-t/

I've an old Korg Pandora takes care of most things. Great wee thing if trying out basses or selling basses. The young fella who bought my Danelectro last Sunday had never saw one before, said I'd give him a shout if one turned up. Wow. ebay prices are scary 😃

Fender Survey - women now 50% of customer base...
kodiakblair replied to Teebs's topic in General Discussion
Either last year or the year before guitar sales were 55% acoustic and 45% electric. If the buskers on my local High St are anything to go by then the ladies are mostly buying acoustics. The 2 big name acoustic builders Taylor and Martin mentioned in the Rolling Stone link.Same link also said it was based on Fender's sale of electric and acoustic guitars. -
I meant to add a link to them earlier but there's a lousy signal at work. Freya no longer sell them so somebody best snap it up.
-
I got one from the last batch of 2017 and one from the first batch 2018. The necks changed to more of a satin sheen since 2014's gloss, they're now a wee bit shallower. I mention the batch dates because there was a factory change and the 1st lot of 2018 had teething troubles. Thomann got things fixed pronto as the PB-50 is a big seller.
-
Nothing wrong with the HB PB - 50, I've 4 of them. Bach over in the Czech republic sell a SC P-bass and there's a brand over in Ireland. I'm in Falkirk so if you fancy trying one of the Bentons get in touch and we'll sort something out.

Forgot about the through body stringing. Where's that fella whispering "remember thou art mortal" when I need him 😆
