Pretty sure I recognise the serial number but not the bass 😃 JG1156 rings a bell for the Wal I sold in Edinburgh back in 1989 but it had a leather scratchplate and the pickups had mini switches built into the surrounds,not on the scratchplate.

Strange. Both of mine weigh 8lb.

Black with tort means a Zodiac BXP. Alder body,rosewood/maple neck 8" radius. Lovely bits of kit. Made in China. "Made in China" is not the usual kiss of death here. When Peavey started sourcing basses from the Far East their top bass designer relocated. The Zodiac had a new body shape and came in 2 flavours. Standard BXP or Dave Ellefson signature model. The Megadeath man thought adding a mirror scratchplate was enough but the marketing folks disagreed. Marketing men won and his Sig bass shipped with the uninspiring Duncan 1/4 pounders. Put Ellefson's neb right out of joint,he later stated the standard pickups were good and the Duncans were only to justify a large price hike 😲 Not sure what else to add. Solid bass, designed to be versatile. Built under the watchful eye of the sorely missed Mike Powers. Cheap as chips. Definitely worth considering should you fancy a PJ.

No1 for me is the great Dennis Dunaway. He's been a Rotos player not far off 50 year,a wee bit longer than myself 🙂 My experience with Rotos started in 1983 with a set of TruBass tapes,£5 from a closing down sale 👍

Tried and tested procedure with Fender. Back in the 70's they told American shops selling Peavey amps not to expect Fender guitars until they started selling Fender amps.

If their past is anything to go by the Dean situation is nothing. Back in 2010 Gibson sued WowWee over kid's cardboard guitars !! One of their reasons "Gibson claims that WowWee's Web site also featured a promotional video with a character that was unable to distinguish between a Paper Jamz guitar and a real Gibson-manufactured instrument."

Time difference here too. Currently 2am in the UK. Have you clicked "order received" ? Seller doesn't get paid until you do. Open a dispute and follow procedure. Hopefully you paid by credit card or through paypal,both give you better protection for refunds.

Thanks for the kind words folks. Wasn't thinking straight yesterday,collected the death cert that afternoon. I should've added this to the paisley build thread. The blue sprayed quite easy,occasional rub to keep things flat. Plasikote gloss was a nightmare,more satin with the odd patch of gloss 🤬 Attempting to sweeten out a bloody big run on the back saw the black base coat spring to life 🤬🤬 Touch up "split" on contact with gloss 🤬🤬🤬 Grabbed the 🤠hat and 2 tins of satin lurking on the shelf. Currently pretending I'd planned a satin finish from the start 🤐

I bought a 1/4 size the other day,later saw my old 3/4 in my pal's living room. 1st thought."Thank Christ that monster's at his place" 😁 Zero interest in anything orchestral,never asked the seller about a bow. The 1/4 fills my need to make thumpy noises without taking over the house. Added bonus is I don't care about the folks next door hearing me mess up,not nearly as loud as the 3/4. Transport is a breeze,roll the back rest down and it fits the passenger seat of a Micra 👍. By contrast the 3/4 filled the boot,backseats and the passenger seat 🤣 £125 inc pickup & bag. That'll do nicely.

Think it was last summer I recalled my tale of woe on the PB-50 paisley. It looked Ok until I bought the Fender version. Played and sounded great but the finish wasn't a patch on the real deal so toyed with a change. Snakeskin was considered 🙂 Cloth bought was too small 😞 Put on back burner. 6 weeks back the old man was told he had lung cancer,at 83 there was no talk of treatment.As he got weaker I quit work to look after him. During the "quiet" spells the finish was stripped. Often I'd be at the wet 'n' dry while we watched tv. I didn't think I could afford the delivery time from Northwest guitars so spray paint was bought from B&M 😲 Good thinking on my part, 2 days after assembly the nurse started talking about hospice. He passed away Wednesday afternoon so this was our last job together.

@Jimothey Looking "braw" as we say up here 😊 When I did the pine slab body start of the year I cut a huge control cavity in the back 😲 Reason ? Had a Noll preamp in the drawer I fancied trying😁 If I get a chance this weekend I'll fit it then post my thoughts 👍

Bought a pedal from the similar site Ali Express 2 weeks back. Took 10 days to arrive from China. The seller doesn't get paid until you verify delivery,money goes in a holding account till then. To be extra careful pay using a credit card or credit card through Paypal. One thing,if it's a bass, be aware many sellers are middlemen and use stock photos of well known brands. Problem with this is the T&Cs state the item must look like the photo so any "Butterfly" logos or "Made in ***" will be on the bass. You could ask for a different logo but I've heard from a few folks who still got the logo even after asking for blank space.

@BassBunny That's the preamp in my BC. Using your 1st photo and working L-R Bridge pickup hot. Neck pickup hot, Red to battery clip.Next 3 solder lugs are grounds (mine are pushed together with a big blob of solder covering them). A very fine yellow (2nd in from right) to jack socket. Far right black to jack socket.
