  1. Absolutely stunning.Without doubt the best NBD I've ever saw. Congratulations for having the high levels of taste required to order such a beauty.
  2. Year before last I bought loads of pedals, was gonna use the christmas holiday to learn what they do. Still no idea 😀 The 10 band EQ pedal gets used most of the time. £30 Caline thing.
  3. Go for it. Might have started life as an HB but it's evolving to suit your taste. Doubt you'd be thinking of swapping the neck if you'd dropped £600 on a bass, chances are you'd just sell it. This way you're getting exactly what you want in small stages.
  4. Reapting myself again. Bought a £76 Harley Benton PB-50 just to see what £76 got you. Turned out £76 got me a nice looking bass with a fantastic neck that sounded great. Put Status Hot Wire tapes on it and promptly ignored my other basses. Bought another, strung with TI's this time. 4 years later I still mostly ignore my other basses.
  5. @Rikkers Why are you concerned about the American economy ? Doubt they lose any sleep over your's.
  6. Excellent. Any effort that entices hipsters to part with stupid amounts of cash should be praised 😉
  7. Used to lug the washing machine, commonly known as a Carlsbro Stingray, on the bus. Bass was strapped to my back.
  8. Champion. Give me a shout about the Herrick
  9. Nice one. I've fancied trying one of those for a whiile. Is it the same size as the Herrick or did it need help ?
  10. Fantastic. Job well done :-)
  11. Glad to hear you're healing ma brother
  12. Morning @BrunoBass Good to see you making progress Stripping the finish off mine's was a mistake ,awfy glad you never took that road Grabbed a couple of bridge ashtrays out the drawer this morning. For the 4 screw bridge you need the large cover (133mm wide),this fella covers it no problem. https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Large-Bass-Bridge-Cover-p/bc1.htm
  13. I much prefer the sound/feel of my £70 Harley Benton PB-50s to my T-20 or Fury. Single coil P-bass with flats or tapes has been my thing for a good while now. Put flats on a Cirrus,to be expected it didn't sound remotely close to a SC P-bass with flats
  14. Carbon weave on the G-bass,carbon reinforce with the Cirrus and Millennium basses, think it's 10/90 mix on the Vigier. Fully carbon neck on the B-Quad. Bright/dark,punchy/lifeless ?? I don't think it makes a blind bit of difference soundwise.
  15. The big fella is getting great sounds from a passive Millennium in some of these videos. https://markporkchopholdermph.com/media-horizon/
  16. Champion. Slim neck and quite light. If it's the active model. Pickups are VFL humbuckers (exact same as went in USA Peaveys), 4 wires so can take a mini switch for coil tap. Preamp is pretty standard. You can get a crazy low action on them by filing the base string height blocks. Takes a shim too Chinese builds I found better than Indonesian, easy to spot Chinese the mouth of the harpoon headstock is beveled,Indonesians had truss rod wheel for adjustment. Nothing wrong with Indonesian I just think the Chinese builds had that bit extra, wish I never sold mine now Some of the finishes are stunning, the violet quilt on my Chinese beat the violet quilt on my USA Millennium Plus hands down. If it's the passive then I've never played one but I'll get you a YT link for a country/blues fella with one.
  17. Need a bit more to go on. There's passive Internationals, active Fury 5's, passive Grind 5's,active Grind 5's (JJ), Millenniums in active and passive then finally Zephyr 5/C5's which can be neck thru or bolt on.
  18. @Andytre I'm hoping you got extra super lucky and that's a mahogany body Patriot They came with just the barest hint of a varnish finish so most folks re-finish at some point. Sorry to say you'll have no luck getting a scratchplate from Peavey, a mounting ring for the SF though can be had from Dave @fretsonthenet. http://www.fretsonthenet.com/ESP_Carvin_Peavey/peavey.htm If you need to know pot or cap values PM me and I'll check what's in mine.
  19. Get a long thin wall socket, might need to grind it a bit thinner. Congratulations on a great bargain.
  20. Nice One Did you ditch the string tree screw ? On my B-stock the 4 bridge screws,2 tug bar screws and the string tree one were all the same length. Thankfully when they put mine together they never tightened up the string tree, screw would've come out the back of the headstock.
  21. It's been nearly a year since they stopped using Wilkinson pickups, the factories in China kept getting fakes and it caused Thomann no end of trouble with returns. The PB-50 has always shipped with D'Addario roundwounds. edit I'm now on my 5th PB-50 and agree while still a bargain it's not quite as good a bargain. A few corners have been cut to save costs.
  22. The amber on the left is the lacquer and photo flame, you can see the under side of it in the right hand photo. The curved strip of wood has me kind of beat, it's an even 0.7mm thick. It peeled off the body. I keep coming back to thinking they've sealed the body with a shellac or something similar and the heat gun lifted it too.
  23. I'm thinking there's been a change of factory because I never found any of those points on my previous 4. The one witha QC date last November looked like this. The with QC date this January looks the same as yours.
