Just had a bass delivered from Germany.Royal Mail weren't involved in any part of it's journey so from collection to me receiving it took 42 hours I've shipped plenty of basses and never had a problem, furthest went to Ghana. Done a few collection only,1 was an 800 mile round trip for a double bass. The DB was £200 so even with fuel a bargain. Last collection was a 600 mile round trip. It ended with a crazy old guy ploughing into the side of me on the A1. Totalled the car and I had 16 weeks off work with a broken knee cap. Since I'm self-employed that cost me a forune. Safe to say I'm done with "collection only"

Average monthly wage of factory worker in Shenzhen last year was $938 In Croatia it was $887, Lithuania folks got $956 and Latvia workers $1006. The demand for factory workers in the Shenzhen province is so high when workers in factory A hear from their friends that factories B & C pay 5p more there's a mass exodus. Folks in Shanghai earn $1135. Meanwhile in the USA several states have repealed their minimum wage laws. Missori and Iowa are both back to the Federal minimum for non-tipped workers of $7.70, Maine is aiming for $7.25. Average hourly rate for US factory workers was $10.37.

Does anybody here take on the task of building kits for those of us clueless about electronics ? I can swap pickups and pots no trouble but I'm 100% certain the Growling Krizzly DLX is beyond me.

That was the road I took Chris. Ordered direct from Entwistle. It was cheaper and quicker too.

I don't think it suits every bass,my Dynabass is white with gold hardware I think black would have been better (match the ebony board). I'd not long finished doing up a Peavey Zephyr 5 when a pal said gold hardware would set it off braw,he was right but I showed restraint and used Marshall amp knobs instead of gold domes. You don't want to OG !!
-
You must remember, the midibase near 27 year old tech. Same principles. Friend of mine at Peavey worked on the fret triggers. Thing's built to last,I was in a car smash the day I picked it up. It was in a gigbag on the passenger seat when a crazy old guy tore the passenger wing off with his Audi. Bass came off better than I did

Same fella took it to Peavey after Wal. Saw the Wal version getting demo'd at BMF 88/89,couldn't make head nor tail of it. Don't know why it got handed to me,near run a mile I've had the Peavey version almost a year, should have run a mile that day too. Still can't make head or tail of it. Insides are scary too.

Move to Corona. Wait a mo, that's cause the QC was crap at the old factory

It's a business strategy. Buy the competition, use whatever processes or ideas you need then shut them down. Helps retain your position as a key player when you've emptied the field. FMIC play the same game but they're only $100 million in the red.

@thegummy Why ? Slash's LP a ghost build ? I know they have or had a Slash model but his own wasn't a Gibson. Take your pick from any of these for the story. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Slash+ghost+built+guitar&rlz=1C1CHBF_enGB751GB752&oq=Slash+ghost+built+guitar&aqs=chrome..69i57.11286j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Aye. but I got those weights wrong think 68g & 75g are closer, battery is 20g. A right heavy preamp is my Noll at 200g inc 2x 9v batteries. Think the 3 concentric pots and ribbon cable account for most of that. Pots are huge

It's still showing as "last one left " on the Wrexham page. Wonder if it's the same one Chris bought that got lost in the post ?
-
Who was that from Chris? Wrexham Guitars or Entwistle themselves ?
-
If you mean the Artec it's a meaty 48g inc 9v battery but the Ming is heavier at 55g with battery,
-
How soon do you have to make the decision ? Easiest thing would be send Noll an email asking if he thinks Delano and his preamps work well together.
-
Decent preamp are Artecs. Got a couple in the drawer and 1 in a Peavey T-40. I've also used the Ming/Belcat ones sold on eBay for £8 - £10,they do the job just fine but I've had the shaft pull free from the pot when changing knobs so if you fit one ? Leave well alone afterwards
-
Aye,you've got to be on the ball sometimes. I'm a big fan of the Warman jazzbar, fancied getting another but took put off ordering until last minute. Course they were sold out by then and I had 3 month wait for the next batch.
-
@fleabag The fella to ask @entwistlepickups.com is Simon. Poor bugger had to send me out 2 as the 1st was one of many guitar related items addressed to me lost by the post office. £24 inc postage rings a bell.
-
I bought one from them last month, just emailed and asked . It's a stock item in some Revelation basses so ask Sutherland Trading if Wrexham can't help. Already have 3 of those beauties so I'm good.

My La Bella LT's arrived this morning Nice strings, feel about the same as TIs. The TIs have at least a 3 year head start so only time will tell how the LTs settle in. Not a bad set of strings and a decent price too.

Can only live in hope my brother

Sorry Pete Talking out my backside. Again !!. Was certain I'd saw one but looking through last year's photos on the SGC facebook page turned up nothing.

@Harryburke14 The Entwistle JBXNs haven't been fitted yet. The Zodiac got them about 3 years back on the suggestion from a very nasty man by the name of @chrismuzz He was up to his tricks again yesterday so I'll be trying them in an old very Metal Washburn. The Washburn will still get 2 PBXNs fitted at a jaunty angle to match the lava finish and pointy headstock.

First time I get to use the new digital calipers JBXN neck 91.38mm x 18.5mm x 24.76mm deep JBXN bridge 94.59mm x 18.5mm x 24.76mm deep I've 2 Peavey Zodiac DE Scorpios. They come with Duncan Basslines as stock, replace them on 1 with Entwistle PBXN & JBXN. Bloody Hell they're loud. I'd heard folk bumming up Duncans as loud. Bollocks !! Entwistle Neos are easily twice the output. Both Zodiacs were strung with Roto Nexus,I find that a bright zingy string, the Neos were too powerful for the Nexus so that bass got a set of Fender flats.Stil very loud and clear. If you were swapping basses mid set I'd advise an A/B pedal or volume pedal, chances are you'd need it.
