Looking forward to seeing pics of the red one when they go up on Thomann...

  2. For a brief period in my teens I thought technical skills the more important. Guitar shredder overload in the late 80's put paid to that. I'll take OK skills but a great show over the whiz kids every time.

Mark's recent PB-50 Mod V.3 caught my interest. His Herrick pickup arrived during the week, same day the 2 saddle bridge arrived from America Always a pleasure dealing with Mark. Look forward to the next time. Cheers Davie
  4. I'd never heard of Transferwise until a couple of weeks back. Fella in Norway suggested it, Paypal fees and lousy exchange rate were killing him. After I signed up the money was in my bank couple of hours later,he saved £70.
  5. Brendon bought a pointy head crackle finish Washburn from me. Very laid back fella and was a pleasure to deal with . Another fella who's a credit to BC.
  6. What's up with the headstock ?
  7. @yorks5stringer Not an option then. I've had no dealings with Bach myself just knew they sold a SC P-bass. TBH after owning 3 Harley Benton PB-50's there's not much chance me looking at other makes, though I'd like to try the pine body Squier After near 4 year I've yet to do any work to the PB, tuners/bridge are tip top,no crackly pots or jack socket. Basswood body is in better condition than any of my alder, ash, poplar or mahogany basses. Never adjusted TR. For a bass which cost £82 delivered and after countless hours play the PB-50 has more than proved itself.
  8. Bach over in the Czech Republic do one. Called the Perfect Bass 60. http://www.bachmusik.com/en/bpb-60-sb-relic_p2003 £260 inc delivery
  9. Shipped a bass to Norway last week with UPS. Norwegian customs got a bit antsy about the materials. UPS were outstanding. First thing was a phone call from the depot saying the driver couldn't make the 2.30pm deadline and it would be about 4.30pm,got that call at 8am. Second Gold Star was the phone call from UPS saying there was a problem, I hadn't included 3 copies of the customs forms. They printed off more for me at the depot. Thrid Gold Star was when custom impounded it. Another phone call from UPS explaining the trouble . I just emailed a reply saying there was no CITES restricted woods and included a PDF of the catalogue with the info on the bass bookmarked. Buyer received his bass the next day. Total cost of shipping a Cirrus in a hard shell case Scotland to Norway £12.40. When you factor in the added admin and phone calls you can see why I think UPS were outstanding
  10. @Oldboy Wait until the end of the month. Thomann finally listened to reason and will release their PB-50 for left handed folk Do a search on here for the Harley Benton PB-50 and you'll see despite just £100 there's lots of satisfied owners. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_pb_50_lh_sb_vintage_series.htm
  11. Just rushing off to work so I'll MSG you later.
  12. I totally agree @Bassassin,would have thought he'd have tried Gruhn's in Nashville. Must really need cash in a hurry, he joined the US site on Friday to give the heads up then posted the link next day. All seems rather rushed.
  13. I've only been aware of it a few years myself Mick. Given America's love of creation myths I'm not surprised
  14. This piece by Paul Jr is a better piece on the Tutmarc bass and even includes the early adverts. http://tutmarc.tripod.com/paultutmarc.html Couple of TB links (beware contains Fender fanboi butthurt comments) https://www.talkbass.com/threads/tutmarc-audiovox-model-736-where-are-they.857878/ https://www.talkbass.com/threads/why-is-leo-fender-and-not-paul-tutmarc-considered-the-father-of-the-bass-guitar.1231497/
  15. Can't believe one of these is on eBay. Paul's Grandson must be stony broke If you don't know the Tutmarc Bass Fiddle story here's a link but bottom line is Paul Tutmarc invented the electric bass decades before St Leo http://www.vintageguitar.com/1782/audiovox-736/ eBay link https://www.ebay.com/itm/232677254563?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  16. @BreadBin I had 3. Sold the de-fret B-10, gave the 5 string B-105 to a kid in Ghana. The B-20 has same finish as that LH body, actually had 2 of those. 1st was a white one bought from Machinehead Music in Harlow 87/88.
  17. Gave up trying to sell mine. The de-fretted B-10 took awhile even at a mega bargain price but the B-20 in red crackle finish never got 1 bit of interest. Even at less than £100
  18. Never quite understood it myself Shawn I just play about with things until happy and hope nobody asks me questions !
  19. It's a belter How it's in such great condition after all those years is a mystery, mine are bashed to bits Enjoy your New Peavey Weekend
  20. Got my first set of Rotosound tapes for £5 when a music shop closed down in 1983. Great thumpy sounds on a P-bass,everybody was playing rounds so I stood out. These days it's Status or La Bella. I have the La Bella white and the older cooper ones called "white" but much prefer the look of black tapes so never tried them yret.
  21. Mine are unlined as when I've tried lined boards I found myself looking at the neck. This was a pain in the neck, both meanings of the phrase
  22. Aye the 35" vs 34" is overstated imo but the BXP Cirrus came in both 34" & 35". Could be your's is a 34". Great bass, have flats on mine.
  23. $31.50 but minimum order is 10 http://wscmusic.com/itemView.php?&query=view&code=00000507&no=4132&lv=2
  24. They were never for sale as an aftermarket item, least I never found them. Checked now and again over a 3 year period, always drew a blank.
  25. It'll be The Queers next month then the Meteors.
