  1. Harry just put some Entwistle JBXNs in a 'bits & bobs' listing. If an hour passed between me spotting the ad to Harry sticking my address on the box for posting I'd be very surprised Quick, easy and painless deal, just the way it should be. Cheers Harry
  2. Fancied trying La Bella Low Tension flats. Got a used 5 string set coming from Germany. £25 inc postage. Result :)

  3. Just had an email saying "sorry it was a huge mistake in pricing".Goes on to say they've gave me a quote with the intended price,I wasn't signed up with G4M when I ordered so who knows where this quote got sent. Any body know the amended price ?
  4. @mcnach If you want a fretted one check the Cash Convertors site .
  5. I've heard of experts in both the antique and art world making mistakes so it's a difficult thing. The way it works on Talkbass is pretty messed up. Somebody will pose the question " Is this Real ?" and a whole bunch of folks answer "Fake". Some will give reasons but 90% just pronounce their verdict. Then conveniently ignore follow up posts if taken to task. Afraid I don't have an answer either, I was only voicing my concern. Anyway GLWTS
  6. @KingPrawn All very lauable but who's the "experts" and what qualifys them ? Will they denounce folk based soley on photos ? I don't believe BC has a problem with folk selling fakes but I do believe it's a slippery slope when we have self appointed judges. Just this morning over on Talkbass an ebay seller with 99.7% positive feedback from 4000 odd sales was getting dragged over the coals over what may have been a simple mistake. All on the strength of 1 disgruntled poster.
  7. Fake logos don't faze me in the slightest,if it makes folk feel better about their bass all to the good. I did hear of one fella fitting a 'Made in the USA' neck plate to his MIM,swore it played better
  8. If fear of it falling is the issue and not the handling weight, though if you read the OP's post handling weight was the concern, then you're right nothing short of moving it himself will safeguard against that.
  9. 25Kg is deemed a safe weight for 1 person to handle that's why they halved the weight of cement bags. The bags are now so small folks would butt heads if trying a 2 man lift. Building trade is covered by Equality laws, just like farming and catering everybody dropped to the max weight. Potatoes and flour sacks are 25Kg too.
  10. Plenty bubblewrap, and plenty cardboard. Best if you give it 3 layers of cardboard. For couriers use a broker like Interparcel, for an item that size Parcelforce 24 or next day will cost £12. Insurance is about 2 or 3%. Couriers work on bands up to certain weight/size limits, over 25Kg is a problem as is over 1.5M wide. Had 2 basses delivered by Parcelforce last week in a gigbag with no problems,I'll admit to nerves on that one as I couldn't insure them. Unless guitars are in hard cases Parcelforce accept no liability, evevn then the case needs cardboard wrap.Since it's down to the driver any courier can be hit or miss but I've shipped or received 50+ basses in the last few years with no troubles.Sent one to Ghana, only took 6 days Get yourself a quote here https://uk.interparcel.com/
  11. Even when it was explained as 'satire' to them many still didn't "get it". Alien concepts and Americans seem to go hand in hand
  12. Same link was posted on talkbass. Funniest thing ever, lots of indignent 50 year old Americans claiming they would "knock that sucker out" for disrespect
  13. They also don't have any problems doing returns from Australia.Fella on the Harley Benton forum said they just emailed him a shipping label. He re-boxed the guitar, printed the label and handed it in a the post office. Shipping both ways must have cost them a bundle but it's a legitimate busness expense so helps with the tax returns
  14. I've gotta be careful Mark. There's that many rosewood boards here I reckon I'm responsible for CITES not the Chinese furniture industry @tom1946 Will know by tomorrow. I've a control cavity needs to go deeper, didn't get a chance to buy slug tape for shielding yesterday. I'll be at B&Q 1st thing Merry Christmas
  15. Lovely bass. I'm a member of the "want one" list too Merry Christmas
  16. 1st mistake Screaming "WOO" at the camera. 2nd mistake Screaming "WOO" at the camera 3rd mistake Screaming "WOO" at the camera
  17. I've ordered many times from them and delivery times have been fantastic. Best was order placed 11pm Sunday, Thomann open 9am Monday and order processed. Bass delivered to my door 1pm Wednesday afternoon TBH there wasn't time to look at tracking details.
  18. They definitely have charm. Since Stephen dosn't use CNC machines and a habit for using reclaimed wood no 2 are ever the same. I've heard from a good few other owners via the FB page and some of his other basses really are cracking, the Lobes & Scarabs are his bread & butter models That said I saw a gorgeous brazillian cherry Lobe, don't know how much time the owner put into it though. That seems to be the secret. One fella I talked to trims his necks down with a spoke shave, from the little contact I've had with Steve W he supports this kind of thing. Had heard he was a bit of a grouch but I've found him pleasant enough and quick to answer questions. If you're ever up this way give me a shout so you can try one.
  19. Great to see them finished Tom Hopefully Santa will give you reason to lose the jigsaw. BTW I picked up a couple of those "guided " template/trimmer bits. Will let you know how they do when I use them in anger
  20. I've my order confirmation email but paypal just says "payment pending".
  21. Had a rammy in Morrisons last Sunday on a 3 for £6 deal. "Sorry, tag was in wrong place." That was end of story. Moneysaver says shops don't have to honour prices. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3277262
  22. Don't know how it works in England but up here a shop is under no obligation to sell at the listed price.
  23. Picked a lousy time to check in on BC. It's just cost me £40
