Andy If the Washburn is one of the Force ABT then I'd say Japanese build. My 3 were Japanese. Congratulations on a great day.

Friend of mine who's a big fan of bass ukes also upgraded to Countryman. I had both fretless and fretted HB models. I was surprised by the "big sound" from such a little thing. The heavy gauge strings took awhile to get used to,take awhile to settle down tuning wise too.Had to alter my playing too, heavy attack caused the strings to bounce of the fretboard. Fretting too hard caused the notes to go sharp. The pair cost me half the price of a Kala so it was a cheap fun experience

I've noticed a price rise on all USA Peaveys in the last week. There was about 20 on Music Go Round under $200,but when I looked last night everything was over $200.Heard from a friend in Meridian this morning,he'd just picked up a trans purple TL-5 with a $100 Bart preamp for $310.

Mate of mine has the J&D jazz bass. Said it had cheap hardware and a lousy fretjob. Once he'd sorted that out it was a nice bass.

Needing some pointers and hope somebody will chip in. Artec SE 2 preamp . It comes prewired except the jacket and battery clip. This drawing has me stumped with the grounds. There's one prewired on the volume. On the blend the middle lug is marked ground,on the Tone Monster preamp you attach the pickup grounds to the middle pin on the blend. The drawing doesn't show that just a black wire marked ground. Where do I attach the ones from the pickups, the bridge, blend and volume control grounds ? Do I tie them all together ? It also doesn't come with a stereo jack socket so I phoned Maplin this morning, 2 left in stock. Popped round and collected it. When I got home I discovered it's a 4 lug. Now because I haven't got the grounds sorted out I can't do trial and error to find the right lugs to use. Can somebody put this eejit out of his misery ? Cheers KB

Bought a Peavey bass on gumtree, seller was 400 mile away. Asked on here and merton helped out. Couple of year before merton was buying an amp 400 mile away myself and donny picked it up for him. Both times the cash just was transferred to collectors bank account. Make use of the forum and the good folks on it Chances are you'll be helping one of us sometime.

Great to hear your up-to-date thoughts on the Harley. I've stuck to my guns and abstained. Car crash, broken leg and no work helped strengthen my resolve ;-)

Spoke to a Welsh fella start of the month. He'd got a unlined fretless 6'er, stealth black and in the shape of a R!C Despite his missus being Chinese it was still an effort. Every detail has to be covered,as expected his electrics weren't up to much but he seemed happy enough with the result. If it's any help to folks He used the name "Mr Chan" throughout the whole thing and reckons he saved £150
Aye that,s what I wis thinking so it may be I,m after a Millenium in see through black wi the maple neck then. Question -what do these sound like passive. Bit off the OP but hey.I,m thinking of super ferrites in a Rickenbacker as well.
I'm no sure if there's an on/off for the Millennium preamp so I'll get back to you on that. Put a super ferrite in one of the Harley Benton £70 PB-50's,sounds grand but the TI flats might have something to do with that.

harley benton pb50, can it really be as good as the reviews?

Pickup heights will have a lot to do with it too. Too high they'll choke the strings but too low and they lose signal. Why's nothing ever simple -

Naetharu If you're not impressed well then you're not impressed. These lads seem to be impressed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVL9TzEFiyE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C60_fdAX_N8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUtP0P0ZWP4 Bit more relevant. Here's my pal Claudio A/Bing his PB-50 with the Wilkinson and then Seymour Duncan. https://soundcloud.com/subdude67/wilkinson-pickup https://soundcloud.com/subdude67/seymour-duncan-pickup -
So, what do you think brought you to the bass?

Anyone bought a bass from Cash Converters website?
kodiakblair replied to Harryburke14's topic in General Discussion
Harry . Bought twice from CC. 1st was left propped outside my front door. Bass shaped object, made from miles of black bags and tape marked "fragile". Bass was unscathed but I lived ground floor in a close with no locked entrance. Folk would nip in off the street for a piss. Courier was at fault but I complained to CC anyway. Got email and letter apologising and saying they'd dropped the courier. City Link went bust couple of month later. 2nd time was last month. Reminded them about the last time and they said "it's OK,we use Parcelforce". Came home to find a large box wrapped in bin bags outside the door. Again no security entrance. Again courier at fault. No problems from CC,both basses were as advertised and reasonably well packed.Second one was better, waterproof wrap -cardboard box - buublewrapped bass. It's just the bloody couriers. -
Did have a 32" Westone Concord. A mad guitar professor in Lenzie has it now

Quite liked the fretless on "What I Am" by Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians. Not really Rock though but nice enough :-)

£40 ? £40 is the price of JB-75 dekos I.e " unplayable, for decoration only " and I'd take sharp frets as a given. Far as taking one on a gig I'm saying nothing. -
Hey hey ma Brother bassmachine Congratulations. Now you need a Red one so buy Tim's You know it makes sense

The main photo doesn't do it any favours but when I saw the 3D bridge and EMGs I thought it has potential. The wooden cavity covers are another nice touch. Shame I'm committed to something else just now.
