Almost everything sold in the Britannia Record club catalogue. Music for the same folks that bought books by the yard. -
I'm more perplexed by the other "custom" build showing below it. Does rotating a tuner and cutting half the scratchplate away mean custom. Okay it's £100 for a Concord but still !! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-built-electric-bass-guitar-j048800050071sh/162347250382?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D40794%26meid%3Dccc34f6d8f3448999f2063601bd35586%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D222373516446

Had the PB-50 for a few years now. Great bass ,ended up buying 2 of them One with TI's and one with Hot Wire tapes. There was a good thread by discreet last year on them. Pretty certain there's a soundcloud link to my pal Claudios' A/B between the stock Wilkinson and a Duncan in the post. Fighting weight on my two is about 8.5lb with luggage scales from the £1shop

Never liked The Beatles but I'll still say do the gig. Liverpool's a great city so go and enjoy yourselves. -
Fantastic. Just shows diligent checking pays off

Sounding great bassmachine2112. Extra points for using the highly technical term "baw hair"

So Macdonalds really make the best burgers.

Saw a white 3 octave fretless Tune Bass Maniac reviewed in Guitarist mag back in 84. Said to myself if I try fretless that'll be the one for me. Said it was £899. I was starting work on the YOP so 1 years wages Always keep an eye out for anything Tune related but to no avail. In 32 year I heard of just 3 ! One in Japan, one in Italy and an Australian fella who got his but the neck was knackered The replacement sent wasn't the 3 octave version.Danny at Bass Japan told me they were rare even over there. Things were looking bleak but never gave up looking Got up one Sunday morning last summer after an 800 mile drive and there it was eBay Japan . Most expensive thing I've ever bought but mind I'm a tight bastard So 32 year wait. Well worth it even if I'm crap on fretless

Brilliant. I'm now going to "unfollow" this thread afore it costs me £300 odds.

Had a Wal JG nearly 30 year back, lovely bass that deserved a much better player than me. Wilson Sapphire from 68 and a Gordy Blueshift are the only British basses here now. Amps have been various Marshall,Carlsbro and Trace. An old Stingray head and Trace preamp remain.
Are there good Peavey basses?
Dangerous question to ask a man whose house is overrun with them Short answer is Yes & No. There's some fantastic Peaveys like TL5's,Cirrus and B-Quads. Some average like the Milestones and Internationals. Some kinda quirky like T-40s.Just damn fine basses like Furys and Foundations. What kind of basses you interested in prowla ? There's sure to be a Peavey model close.

First thing is a very big THANK YOU to Merton for making this happen The seller wouldn't post and within minutes of me putting the correct location up when asking for help Martin offered to collect it. In fact he did more than collect it,he carefully packed it and organised the courier too ! What can I say bar the man's an absolute star. The Peavey is the Zodiac DE Scorpio. Dave Ellefson from Megadeath worked for Peavey in AR for a few years and they decided to do a signature bass together. Like the John Taylor Liberator bass the Zodiac was again chosen as the starting point. It's a 21 fret maple/rosewood neck with 8" radius married to an alder body. Hi-Mass bridge, Duncan Bassline P/J pickups and a shiny scratchplate complete the specs. Weighs 9lb. Couple of year back I got a Zodiac DE body from Thunderbird, put Entwistle Neos in and added a Millennium BXP neck.Turned out a helluva bass and reckoned I was good for Zodiacs Then I see this stock Zodiac DE for £150 and think how nice the Duncans sound in my Dyna/Unity series. Put Roto Nexus on both the Zodiacs so I could compare them better.Entwistle Zodiac is on the left. Conclusion's as follows. Basslines sound nice but bloody hell are they quiet, the Entwistles OTOH are loud an proud. Nexus strings will be coming off the Entwistle Zodiac, the high output and zingy strings are a bit much for me these days so maybe tapes or flats.Flats will work well with the Basslines too, they don't lack range just volume. Not a problem if you don't swap basses often. Bottom line. Cracking looking bass with decent parts that I was lucky enough to get for little money.

Excellent news that DarkHeart. I heard from a fella who'd pre-ordered his and he was over the moon. Main issue he had was the factory forgot to drill for through body stringing Congratulations on the new bass and for taking the plunge.

AH . All becomes clear now. It only works on the quiet stuff. Cheers for that.

Well Americans don't understand satire. Better add that to the long list of things

Being bored over the holidays I thought I'd try a few pedals. Ended up with a bunch of cheap pedals Mooer,Nux,Donner etc and a Rowin noise gate arrived today,£18 delivered. http://www.ebay.co.u...%3D282231019088 Now I've never used a noise gate before but I'm guessing setting it anywhere between 12 and 6 clockwise shouldn't kill the sound completely. Basically anything -29dB to +10dB is silent. Is this normal or duff pedal ? Cheers KB
Do you mean Warrington? Never heard of Warlington and neither has Google!
That will be because I'm an eejit and put the wrong name in the post. Not surprised nobody replied when the place doesn't exist. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
