  1. Your blog's always a great read FlatEric The patchwork Reeve guitar is a belter, the 2 headless basses are no slouches either.
  2. No Microsoft virus rubbish today, just online gambling and the "Brit Method" money maker scheme. Noticed they happen when I try to read the status comments.
  3. Got a set of strings from Alain this week. Great fella to deal with. Hope to do business again. Cheers Davie
  4. Should have checked here sooner. Been getting this fake windows page for a while now. Only happens on BC and only when I click a link. Anti-virus is up to date, Malaware and Ad Block pro are all running but it still occurs regular. Some "Brit Method" money page pops up too.
  5. VType Congrats on the Wolf. gebass6 has been about the only fella talking about them but he sure likes his. He also has a method of using a belt along with his strap to combat the neck dive.
  6. Mojo You know I felt the same recently with the USA Millennium Vs the BXP version. Still feel the same. Yes the USA has a pretty neck, variable mids and better hardware.Maybe a 1lb lighter too. The BXP's though play and sound fantastic. Plenty other basses don't have variable mids so it's not critical, 35" scale ? It's a 4 string so does it need that extra inch to improve the E. My opinion is no. Gotoh tuners and ABM bridge Vs slightly cheaper Gotoh tuners and mono saddle bridge ? They both hold their tune, intonation and are easy to set up. The USA cost me the same as my 2 BXPs combined. All I can take from this is the BXP Millennium ACs are fantastic basses :-) Different story with my BXP Cirrus Vs the USA ones, definite improvement with the USA models.
  7. Try putting a soldering iron on the damaged screw head for a good few minutes. Let it expand so it cracks any gunk. It'll be easier to remove using these. http://www.diy.com/departments/ptx-mixed-damaged-screw-remover-set-54mm-5-pieces/702452_BQ.prd
  8. Lovely bass the Cort Curbow. White fretless would look amazing. I make do with this [attachment=231957:Curbow 1.jpg] But there's also this to ease the pain [attachment=231958:Maniac (2).jpg]
  9. Nick Fella on FB was looking for one of theses earlier today so I've gave him a link to here.
  10. I'll 2nd the Entwistle neos, they replaced the SD Basslines in my Zodiac DE. The covers are a bit bigger so use the ones from the pickup you're replacing.
  11. If you fancy diy search for posts by "kohanmike" on talkbass ,you'll find plenty of ideas. I liked his LP mod.
  12. Skybone. There's a fella been trying to sell a Rimini in Glasgow for months. Think it's £250 now. Would you like me to try and get his email address and PM you with it ?
  13. I Think We're Alone Now also covered by Screeching Weasel
  14. I remember Speedway doing Genie in a Bottle a few years back. What's Up by 4 Non Blondes,Zombie by the Cranberries (covered by Screeching Weasel) come to mind. Plenty songs by Pink should work too.
  15. Try and track down Nick Springetti. He built some guitars for Gordon Giltrap like this headless travel guitar. [attachment=231590:_full_SpringettFrontFull.jpg] [attachment=231591:_full_SpringettCloseUp.jpg]
  16. Enjoyed that, always liked Nathans' playing.
  17. Another set of La Bella strings arrived from Simon. Paid for them Sunday night, posted out Monday and delivered yesterday. Great fella to deal with,Highly recommended BC'er.
  18. Not too bad a reaction Funny every time I click the "show ignored content" button over there I see I was right to have those folk on "ignore"
  19. Posted a tentative note on the TB Thunderbird thread to see if any of the Americans were interested. A few told me to go ahead,1 asked if it was a sales pitch Let you know what the reaction is.
  20. Karl thanks for starting a thread. I'd saw the site a couple of weeks back but forgot to bookmark it or write down the name Been driving me nuts trying to remember With me being nuts about Peaveys it's unlikely I'll be buying one but I think it's great we have another fella in the UK starting up.Chinese manufacture doesn't bother me in the slightest, well impressed with my Retrovibes so can't see these being any ldifferent. Bookmarked the page now and will keep an eye out for occasions when I can give them a plug.
  21. Had a few dealings with Alan and he's a great fella. Last time I was picking up a Peavey LP copy and he gave me a Retrovibe Vantage project bass as well. Even put strings in the gig bag for it How do you top that ?
  22. Searched through 12 pages looking for a feedback thread regarding Mike from Chelmsford but couldn't find one. Bought a Peavey Palaedium from Mike this week and the man was great to deal with. I've been in digs with limited internet access all week and had no way of doing a bank transfer Mike took it in his stride, arranged the courier and sent me the bass. Absolute gem of a fella to deal with. Cheers Mike
