  1. I very much doubt they are worried about anyone on here's opinions. https://www.kerrang.com/metallica-are-officially-the-biggest-metal-band-in-the-world
  2. There are actually three chippys now but I boycott the bottom one as they turned me away years ago saying they were closed. I went out and saw the sign saying open until ten. I went back in and said it's half nine you have a sign saying you are open until ten. Oh that's just in the Summer he said. They had hot stuff still sitting in the hot plates . So I though stuff your chippy and I haven't been back since.

  4. Funny U2 have just come on whilst I'm playing random music on my Mac. I was talking to Mrs Ubit yesterday about this and I was just about to say I am getting a bit sick of hearing....... and she said Stereophonics. Yes I said. She had noticed too that we are hearing too much of them lately in the car. It goes through phases and you hear a band once and then it's all the time. The only way you can halt it is to turn off the phone and start again.
  5. I don't get where this they were going to get rid of Lars stuff comes from. Metallica were founded by Lars. He is the band leader.
  6. About 95% of the population will claim to be like this as well. Up until they get annoyed at something.
  7. I don't know if you are including me in that. I think Lars is a great drummer and I have no doubt about his talent. I just think on a personal level he's a bit of a knob.
  8. a while back I mentioned on a forum on Facebook about the WW2 air war relating to the Dambusters. I mentioned Guy Gibson’s dog in a historical sense. I got a weeks ban. I didn’t mean that word in a racist term so what’s the difference?
  9. I have always got annoyed when people slagged off Lars Ulrich for his poor drumming. I think he's a good drummer and doesn't deserve this angst he gets but I really think that he must be an annoying little twatt personally. After seeing the movie which was pretty much warts and all, it seems that he is a spoiled rich guy who has to get his way. Hetfield doesn't sound much better. Hammet and Trujillo seemed more down to Earth guys who were heard and not seen if you know what I mean. All in all I reckon if I met Lars in a pub and he said something sideways I'd chin the wee c***t!
  10. But just listen to that sustain. It keeps on goin' listen.
  11. I have NEVER heard a heavy metal album that didn't benefit from earth shaking bass guitar. I await the replies showing me I'm wrong but I just thought bass was the fundamentals of heavy music. Maybe I have been wrong all these years.
  12. Yeah but look how that turned out in the end. You'll survive to fight another day 👍
  13. Are you aware of where you are commenting? Off with you Philistine!🤣
  14. I worked in Nigeria for five years and never heard them use that expression apart from the time at the airport when it was directed at me. It’s used exclusively by black rappers and Tarantino.
  15. The more I read that the more I am actually offended by that.
  16. It was funny in the 80's but as you say, the joke kinda wore off.
  17. I know that. I am just annoyed at the over use of the word by black rappers when it IS an offensive word.
  18. When I think back to my early working life it's incredible. You had to have a thick skin because the "banter" was relentless. I would like to think it made me who I am but there were times that you wanted to curl up and cry. Thankfully that kind of behaviour is now regarded as bullying and is no longer allowed.
  19. Oban, a small town on the West Coast of Scotland. Capercaillie our most famous export. At least the singer and lead musician Karen Mathieson and Donald Shaw
  20. Why? It's a valid point. how is n***a any different from n***er?
  21. Thats completely splitting hairs though. It's obviously a colloquialism of the N word. If someone white was to say n***a they would be derided and wouldn't be able to say I didn't say n****er! Anyway when did you ever hear an American say n****er? Sounding out the "er"
  22. Whatever happened to the great British sense of humour where we could laugh at others freely but more importantly, laugh at ourselves first?
