  1. Which doesn't excuse them not trying to help him through it. After they had watched Paul Gray die of drug dependency they sack another guy because they think he has the same affliction?
  2. I actually liked this at the time. It was a finger in the air to the cheesy pop that was all the rage at the time.
  3. I remember this. A young teenagers dream watching this video and trying to freeze frame it when you thought you were seeing her nips!
  4. Apparently he was sacked by the band as they thought he was taking drugs when in fact it was his condition that was causing his legs to lose movement. I think that's kind of shyte as even if he was on some form of drugs, why couldn't the band support him and help him through it?
  5. Or sing!.......Or avoid being an annoying twatt!
  6. Well this catu, catig, categi, really proves it was originally wrote in med evil times dun't it?
  7. Well good for you but the vast majority of us don't play on huge stages where amps are not wanted.
  8. All these pro players are getting shown it backstage at gigs or at music shows. They could afford it as a toy but to us mere mortals £300 is a lot a dosh to splash out on. My amp gives me the air movement I need. Im never going to be playing on such a big stage that a sound engineer would tell me to lose my speakers anyway.
  9. The Beatles will not be heard in a thousand years in this house!
  10. I'm sorry guys but I just cannot believe that someone is so musically talented that they can deliberately sing like this as an experiment to see how many dislikes they can get. Have you ever heard of anything so absurd? To be so slightly out of tune but not on the money takes someone who is tone deaf. A real singer just can't do this consistently.
  11. I've had drunks telling me to play some Radiohead. " We don't play any Radiohead mate". "Yes you do" "No we don't" : I saw you in here last week playing some" "That wasn't us mate, we weren't in here last week" "Yes you were". Someone beam me up........ please!
  12. Killed by Death is his username as he is clearly a Motorhead fan
  13. If that was a joint experiment between a bunch of students to make a video then I'm sure they could find one who could hold a tune.
  14. She makes Phoebie sound absolutely great. Central Perk is waiting!
  15. We had a bunch of girls shout to us one night can you play Whisky in the Jar? 'Cos we're just going. How to endear yourself to the band.
  16. Where I come from doing originals is near impossible unless you want to get blank stares. When we were playing prolifically we had to play music that the punters knew. Even when we tried to play covers that were more up to date and better to play we got comments like "you used to be good but not now". Just because we were not playing the same songs we had played ten years before! I can understand how professional bands get annoyed when they get asked for songs from their long distant first album. When we first started we tried sticking a couple of originals in and we even did a demo tape (showing my age) but no one was interested. It's even worse now because everyone wants this Scottish folk rock fusion now. We used to play with a local accordion player and did weddings as well as pub gigs. It used to turn my blood cold to hear the reception the trad. stuff got and our rock numbers were treated with apathy. Originals? Don't even think about it. not up here. Down in the city bands have a chance to showcase original material but this area doesn't put up with any of that rubbish.
  17. I have watched my mate, when told to turn his guitar down, go up to the amp, grip the knob and do absolutely nothing. I've said you didn't even move that! To which he would just smile. It worked for the whole band when we were playing in some bars and they would say turn down. We would give them a thumbs up and play a quieter song.
  18. Believe me, he came close many times. When we grew to a four then five piece band the others used to call us the married couple because of the arguments. He was still my mate though.
  19. I was lucky enough to see them at the height of their "British fame" at Donnington when Eliminator had not long been released. They were just a cut above your average band. 72 is not old these days and it makes you wonder about your own mortality. Too many legends have been taken lately.
  20. So sad, I have all of their albums from the early years until the last ones. A real shock. Joey Jordison and Dusty in one day 😢
  21. One of Mrs Ubits brothers is left handed and he learned right handed guitar. He is incredible and could have had a professional career in music if he hadn't decided he would rather have a family.
  22. We used to see No Fire Arms signs all the time when I worked in Nigeria. There is definitely NOT a heavy metal scene in Nigeria. We used to joke that if you wanted to get any of them out of your office you just had to stick on any guitar music on the stereo.
  23. Just a suggestion but could you not make all notifications stay bold until you have clicked on them? Sometimes I find I have, say 10 notifications but as soon as I look at one they have all greyed out and I'm unsure which are new. Is this possible?
  24. I couldn't find it but now have. Looks great right enough.
