Jeezo! They are just songs. Does everyone have to take them so literally? A- most of them were written in a time when things were different and 2- they are just poems. some of these songs are make believe and who in the Dog and Duck is going to complain because of the lyrics of a song that was in the charts? They just dance along enjoying themselves.

Depends on your interpretation. It's telling the story of a scarred old slaver and how he enjoys hurting his slaves. I very much doubt Mick Jagger is celebrating slavery.

Am I the only one that is shocked at someones woke'ness about old songs? Brown Sugar is an anti slave song and Delilah is about someones, albeit over the top, revenge on someone who wronged him. Make believe and in the past.

Fair comment mate, I just wanted to point out that he is selling it as a live performance when it's clearly not. The guy is HUGELY talented and I bow to his skill and dexterity.

Nope, there was high end noodling going on as well which wasn't being played. I'm not slagging his playing, just that its been given a bit of extra jhazoom.

Granted he is superb but there was a bit of overdubbing going on in that song. At times I was hearing another bass when he was doing something else. I like things as they are played.

I had an Epiphone T Bird as I couldn't justify paying for a Gibson. I was very underwhelmed by it and found it under powered and nothing special sounding. I sold it off pretty quickly. I have since heard that the Epiphone Vintage Pro is a much nicer prospect. Is this true? I don't want to go buying another and find it sounds disappointing too. I would love a genuine Gibson but the money being asked is stupid if you ask me.

We were not what you would call a metal band but when we first started we were very hard rock and I always tried to bring this influence into our later incarnations. I am, or at least the last time we played, using an Ampeg SVT2 Pro head going into a Barefaced big twin. My go to basses are the American standard P and J basses although I have been known to use varying mixes of my many other basses including my Sandberg California. I recently sold a Spector Euro which was perfect for metal as it had the most beautiful tone.

I have no problem with bands sounding like another band. Surely if you are inspired by some band you will base your whole sound on that influence. As for sounding like another singer. How can you help how your voice sounds?

Jailbreak is easy to play but a bugger to sing and play due to the offbeat notes. I struggled with All these things Ive done by the Killers too. Dead easy to play but off beats make singing and playing really hard.

Metal isn't the first to come out with dodgy lyrics. Look at most sixties songs. Grown men leering at young girls and we shouldn't be doing this because you are too young etc.Some of the songs are totally paedo!
